Ganesha is the god of knowledge, success and fulfillment. To invoke this divine being, several Mantras are chanted in his name. These Ganesh Mantras are also known as Siddhi Mantra means the one with perfection. Each and every mantra is full of energy and the power of Lord Ganesha. It is believed that His mantras, when recited with genuine devotion, give positive results. They ward off all trials and troubles gracing the devotee with every bit of the success he desires.

It was on Ganesha Chaturthi. Lord Ganesha was riding on his little rat and suddenly a snake crossed his path. The rat was terrified and ran off in fright due to which Ganesha fell down in a thorny bush. The Moon was looking at this from the sky.the Moon laughed loudly at the funny sight of Ganesha's falling down,It annoyed Ganesha so much so that he decided to punish the Moon. Angrily he broke one of his tusks and threw it at the Moon. As it struck the Moon,Moon lost the brightness. Then the moon went off. The world became dark.People were scared and they screamed and wept. All the Gods in heaven were worried by this confusion. They prayed to Ganesha," please give back the Moon the brightness, "The Moon also repented. The Moon fell at Ganesh's feet and prayed to be forgiven. Ganesha relented but he wanted to teach Moon a lesson. So he said, "the first fifteen days of every month, you will get bigger and then the next fifteen days, you will become smaller and smaller. At the end of the month you will look like my tusk. And on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi the person who looks at the Moon will have an allegation of theft on him.

Lord Ganesh is the one who wrote Mahabharata. When Srila Vyasa was composing the theme of Mahabharata at Dava Badrika Ashram on the banks of the Saraswati river, which consists of dharma, artha, k**a, moksha, and bhakti in a simple form, that was the time when Vyasa proposed the theme of Mahabharata to Lord Ganesha to which Ganesha said that he would only write it if Vyasa would narrate it tediously. “If I keep the pen down once I will not pick it up again,” said Lord Ganesha. Vyas said he accepts the term, but Ganesha had to write everything after careful thought. He shall not write anything without giving it a thought first. ‘Gita’ comes in the Bhishma part of Mahabharata, which is in 18 chapters and 700 shlokas. So the knowledge of ‘Gita’ is the courtesy of ‘Lord Ganesha’.

The Legends of 'Shiv Purana' depicted the might of lord Ganesha. He is the ‘God of beginnings’ and the ‘Guardian of the multitudes’. May Lord Ganesha creates goodness around you and enhances your happiness. The evening puja of Utthan Dashami at Mangal Murti Charitable Trust.
