Richi Anna Abraham, Final Year Food Technology student has got an International Internship Opportunity at Colosseum Doha W.L.L , Qatar.

The Saintgits Association of Food Technologists have successfully lead our department for the past three years, and have helped enhance our knowledge and interactions with informative sessions with personals from the industry, as well as through fun activities which made us more active and energetic.
It is now finally time for them to move on so the new team can follow their footsteps to take up the responsibility to take SAFT to greater heights.We're glad to be a part of this wonderful journey and will try our best to put in our full efforts into its successful working in the coming year.
Our team is lead by Assistant professor Anitha Krishnan V C ( Staff coordinator), Diya Sarah Paul ( President), Sreehari B ( Vice President), Alina Mary Kuruvila (Secretary), Tom Baby (Joint Secretary), Aravind Biju & Emlyn Susan Alexander (Treasurer), Vyshnav K (Technical Coordinator) , Reeba Jacob & Sayana Latheef (Executive members)

EDEZIA, the annual technical fest of Department of Food Technology, Saintgits College of Engineering aims at providing a platform for the students to showcase their ideas and skills.
It also focuses on creating awareness about the recent trends in various spheres of food technology through seminars given by eminent personalities in the field.
The events are also open to other departments of Engineering and are designed to accommodate them.
Moreover the fest is a stress breaker and refreshes the interested parties.

EDEZIA 2020 was conducted on 5th December 2020. Due the pandemic, the fest was conducted virtually through various online platforms. The event was headed by Er. Sony George (Staff Coordinator) and coordinated by the students Mr. Hasim Insan, S7 (Project Manager), Ms. Susan Paulose, S7 (Assistant Project Manager), Mr. Kaushik Padmakumar, S5 (Assistant Project Manager) and Jibin Raj, S7 (Treasurer). There were approximately 375 participants from about 73 colleges across India.

Sherin Tom and Sreehari B of third year Food Technology bagged first and second prizes respectively for the online quiz competition conducted by IE(I) students chapter , Food Technology division, Saintgits College of Engineering on 26 september 2020.

Secured 1st prize in the online poster designing competion conducted by the department of food technology of Saintgits College of Engineering in assiciation with IEI students chapter for commemorating World Standards day on 17 October 2020.

Bagged First prize in Poster Design competition in regional level online techno cultural fest Uyilo 2.0 organized by NSS units of College of Engineering, Chengannur under the auspices of NSS cell of APJAKTU from 27th July to 2nd August 2020.

Bagged First prize for paper presentation on the topic Microbial Fuel Cell - A way for Bioelectricity and Clean Environment in National Virtual Symposium Essenpresso '20 by Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Tamil Nadu on 14 August 2020.

Presented a paper and secured best paper position on ‘Isolation and Characterization of Plastic Degrading Microorganisms fromLandfills and Contaminated Soil’ in the “International e-Conference on Frontiers in Industrial Biotechnology (ICFIBT 2020)” hosted by St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, Chennai from 26 June - 1 July 2020.

Bagged second prize for paper presentation on the topic Scanosh - food safety scanner in National Virtual Symposium Essenpresso '20 by Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Tamil Nadu on 14 August 2020.

Bagged Third Prize for poster presentation on the topic - Batteri Sensor in National Virtual Symposium Essesnpresso '20 by kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Tamil Nadu on 14 August 2020.

Nesternship is a virtual internship provided by Nestlé India Pvt Ltd to students across the country.
6 students from our department got selected and successfully completed the internship in various fields including food technology, quality assurance and human resources.

Congratulations Adwetha Rajesh of first year Food Technology for bagging the first prize in the competition 'Find and Fix' organised by Department of Food Technology in association with SAFT as part of World Food Safety Day Celebration on June 7 2021 with the theme 'Safe food now for a healthy tomorrow'.

June 7 each year is marked globally by the 'World Food Safety Day' as per the World Health Organization (WHO), observed annually to raise awareness about foodborne risks and help prevent, detect, and manage untoward diseases, in essence contributing to sustainable human development through proper food security.
