Seeded bananas have similar foliage to edible banana plant, can be used as plates, wrap the steamed rice cakes. Fruits contain many large seeds inedible for humans but loved by birds and bats

These bananas does not require pollination but the vibrant color of this banana flower, it's nectar and the ripe fruits possess the magical ability to attract the pollinators to the garden, mainly honeybees, bats, sunbirds, other insects throughout it's cycle and radiate positivity, uplift mood and enhance overall well-being of the gardeners

This plant was gifted to me by my sister Akka few years ago and it flourished in our garden and nourishes the human, wildlife and planet in many ways

It was on Ganesh Chaturthi day when people were busy celebrating the festivities we found this injured juvenile grey fronted green pigeon lying in the water channel in our farm. It was shivering and looked helpless

With our previous such l experiences we brought it home, kept it safe out of the reach of stray dogs and cats, in a proper ventilated room and made a fire at a safe distance for warmth. After two hours it recovered. With a slight massage to its injured leg it got the strength and it was ready to fly. Such a beautiful bird we have not seen before and we are glad we could do a bit for this beautiful little bird. Wish it is safe somewhere with its fellow birds. May it's tribe grow

Lemons are citrus fruits famously known as a rich source of vitamin C, but there are also many other minerals and essential nutrients that you didn't know such as potassium, folate, vitamin B6, thiamine, copper, iron, calcium, magnesium and vitamin E.

The leaves,bark and berries are edible. As the name indicates, Allspice has a unique flavor that's often described as a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, pepper and cloves and it has both culinary and medicinal uses.

This versatile spice enhances both sweet and savory dishes, making it a key ingredient in various culinary creations worldwide.

It adds warmth and flavor to many dishes, including stews,curries, roasts, braises, gingerbread, fruitcakes, and pumpkin pies. It's also a key ingredient in spice blends like Jamaican jerk seasoning, garam masala, and pumpkin spice

Allspice contains eugenol, a compound known to stimulate digestive enzymes and has an analgesic effect.
It has been used in folk medicine for many purposes, including treating indigestion, intestinal gas, abdominal pain, heavy menstrual periods, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, colds, skin care, muscle pain, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

ಬಹೂಪಯೋಗಿ, ಔಷಧೀಯ ಮರ ಕುಂಟಾಲ ಮರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ

ಕುಂಟಾಲ, ಕುಂಟು ನೇರಳೆ ಹಣ್ಣು- Syzygium caryophyllatum is a forest fruit and a childhood emotion for the rural kids of Coastal Karnataka. The species is an evergreen tree, endemic to the Western Ghats of India.The plant has numerous antioxidants, minerals and reported anti-microbial effects, , anti inflammatory, antidiabetic, and anticancer activities. The bark,tender leaves, fruits and seeds are edible, commonly used in traditional and folklore medicine

The tender leaves are edible, astringent, used to make chutney,tambuli. Leaf extract is used to treat colic pain and white coating on the tongue of infants and kids. Our older generation consumed Herbal tea/ Kashaya an alternative to coffee/tea by boiling the leaves, adding milk and jaggery and maintained their gut health. Leaf decoction is commonly used to treat stomatitis, diarrhea, blood-mucous stools, wounds, and ulcers.

Mid February to early June is the flowering season which offers copious nectar and pollen for honeybees. Kuntala honey is premium because of its special aroma and dark colour which is known for its medicinal properties

The fruits mature and ripe during the rainy season.oval, juicy, sweet, astringent in taste and purple in colour, no less than blue berry, strawberry or Jamun fruits Fruits and seeds decoction is used traditionally in the ailments of diabetes mellitus. It is also used for digestion disorders including gastritis, bowel spasms, stomach problems and severe diarrhea etc

The decoction of the bark is used to treat teeth and gum infections
