Once you start ayurveda treatment, you will always say - why didn't I do this before. These are exactly the words of the patients visiting usπŸ™πŸ™

Photos from Dr Prajakta's Ayurveda Gynaecology and Pregnancy Care Clinic's post 24/03/2023

In the era of new viruses emerging very often, new data, new information, new treatment and new vaccines, our knowledge is always updating about these new diseases. Things that were true yesterday are not true today as new research is always ready to show us that things have changed. Even in these times, an old disease like tuberculosis is still prevalent in India. Sure this is not a viral disease but the tuberculosis bacteria has evolved a lot and has become more strong than before. Today we see cases of tuberculosis which are multi-drug resistant, meaning that many drugs which are commonly used to treat tuberculosis are not effective on multi-drug resistant tuberculosis bacteria. Many of us are not aware about this.

One such patient came to me with cough since 2 months. She visited general practitioner doctor for the same. 3 types of antibiotics and 4 types of cough syrup were already taken by her. Her cough was still persistent. She came to me for ayurveda treatment. I asked her for the typical symptoms of tuberculosis - evening rise of temperature, weight loss, fatigue. She did have these symptoms in some extent but not fully. I advised her to do necessary investigations which included chest x-ray, sputum for AFB - microscopic and gene expert along with other basic blood tests. I had also started her with ayurvedic medicines for her symptoms till her reports came as gene expert report takes 3-4 days to come. The beauty is that she felt quite better with the basic ayurvedic medicines that I gave her. Her cough was reduced by 60-70 percent with 4 days of ayurvedic medicines. She was very optimistic, even though I had explained to her that this might be tuberculosis but as she felt very relieved with ayurvedic medicines, she has a glimmer of hope that maybe it might not be tuberculosis. Reports came in and she was tested positive for tuberculosis. After 2 months of her suffering with cough, finally there was a diagnosis.

Moral - Early diagnosis is the key. Treatment for tuberculosis is lengthy and extends from 6-9 months and at times, even more that this. To avoid complications, any cough, fever that lasts more than 1 month, evening rise of temperature, unexplained weight should prompt you to visit a doctor and get treated. Stay aware, positive, healthy and happy always πŸ’

Patients come to doctor with a disease, doctor does the diagnosis and gives medicines accordingly. This is a very common scenario. We doctors are also happy when patient is relieved of the symptoms. The true happiness is very different from this. Most of the time, there are some stressful factors in a patient's life which bothers the patient more and even though physical health is improved, the patient is still miserable emotionally. As women, who have emotions filled to the brim, at times it becomes difficult to navigate day-to-day life. A patient who trusts the doctor with some of life's deepest emotions, that is the kind of faith and trust the patient has on the doctor. As a doctor, it is my responsibility to treat the patient physically, mentally as well as emotionally because defination of health includes all this. I find more happiness when I can give some pratical advice to the patient as a person and not as a doctor and get positive feedback on the next follow-up. As doctors, we are in a position where we can change so many lives for better, so instead of just treating diseases, I absolutely love it when I can transform lives forever.
Ayurveda always gives importance to mental and emotional health, which is as important as physical health. If a doctor can work on all these aspects, the patient truly will be healthyπŸ‘

Suvarna prashan is authentic ayurvedic preparation for kids to develop and maintain overall health of a kid. Regular usage of Suvarna prashan helps a child to have a good memory, concentration and such kids get fatigued less. Their immunity is enhanced so they don't fall ill to infections very frequently. Also, if any infection occurs, the body's immunity will help to clear it soon and hence severe disease is unlikely. It is also helps in promoting normal growth - height, weight, developmental milestones. Suvarna prashan can be given to all kids from the day of birth till the age of 16 yrs. There are absolutely no contraindications to its use. It can be given to normal as well as abnormal babies. In babies having delayed developmental milestones, for e.g babies who are not able to walk, speak properly, deaf and mute, in these babies Suvarna prashan is given always. In normal kids, it is given to enhance the overall physical as well as the mental health of the baby.

What is Suvarna Prashan?

It is a medicine which has to be given to baby orally. It is not an injection. The taste is also very good and babies take it happily. There are some auspicious days according to Hindu calendar. It is believed since ancient ages that if suvarna prashan is given on such auspicious muruthas, then the efficacy is enhanced more. Suvarna prashan can be taken on normal days also, but for maximum results, such auspicious muruthas are important.

It is a divine message that this month's Suvarna prashan falls on 14th and 15th November. 14th is the children's day and there can't be a more clear message than this. Let's us embrace ayurveda and give our children the best gift πŸ‘πŸ’ͺπŸŽπŸ‘

Education helps a person to widen the horizon for oneself. It develops the personality and helps in improving communication skills. In the era of Ayurveda, 5000 yrs back, educated person was given prime importance. Students had to stay with guru at guru's place, do all the work said by guru and guru will give him wisdom and knowledge of Ayurveda and various other subjects. This was the level of dedication, back then. We should all maintain the same amount of dedication for upgrading our knowledge always in this era.

This is the happiness that we thrive for. A picture is worth million words. The relentless efforts from doctor as well as patient gives the desired outcome. After going to big hospitals and still not getting the desired outcome, they thought of turning to Ayurveda. She is one of my favourite patients, very sincere and obedient. When she first came to me, I told her that you follow everything that I say and you will get pregnant and deliver a healthy baby. We started with medicines and we did methodical panchakarma for her. Without disclosing a lot of patient's history, I would say that this was a challenge for me and I am so glad that I could give her the ultimate happiness of being a mother. But the journey does not end after being pregnant. The pregnancy was challenging and needed methodical follow-ups. We did it all and delivered a male baby. Today also, 6 months after delivery, the smile on her face lights my day. I am so glad that she got the one thing that she desired so much. Wish you a very happy and prosperous life ahead ❀️

In Ayurveda, the tradition of teacher and student is very integral. Teacher(guru) should be selfless and give the entire knowledge to the student(shishya). Student should obey the teacher all the times and behave as the teacher says. This is the sacred bond of trust of shishya and guru.
It is not possible to learn a lot of things without a knowledgeable teacher. Happy teacher's day to all the teachers on the planet earthπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

We all are so delighted when someone gives us good news. Adorable baby photos and videos are definately ruling the internet. The family is over the moon when a baby is born. It is no small feat to carry a baby from conception till 9 months. It's very commendable. After the baby is born, we all know that breastfeeding is the only food for the Baby for 6 months. Everyone knows this. Inspite of this, even today, breastfeeding is stopped or reduced at a earlier date and top feed is added. There are many reasons for this - right from being able to work at a early stage to downright tiredness of the length of the process. It is absolutely important for us to know that breastfeeding is as important for the Baby as it is for the mother herself. Women who have breastfed are at a lower risk to develop fibroid in uterus than those who have not breastfed. Many benifits similar to this exists. August 1st through 7th is the World breastfeeding week. Raise the awareness about this most important and critical topicπŸ‘πŸ‘

Acharya Charaka is the best ayurvedic physician till date. He learnt the knowledge of ayurveda and later on translated to his own book which is known as Charak samhita, which is the base of Ayurveda even today. Charak samhita has the causes, symptoms, patho-physiology and treatment of all the diseases that affect life on earth. Not only humans, it also includes the diseases occuring to animals namely - cows, elephant etc along with its detailed treatment. Such is the vast expanse of Charak Samhita. Also, in the chapter of Jana-pad udvansa, mentioned in Charak samhita, causes, treatment and detailed description of pandemic is mentioned. In today's era, when new and old viruses which were limited to animals are becoming strong and potent to affect mankind as never before. It's time to go back to the roots. Pandemic were treated only with Ayurveda. There was no other speciality as Veterinary doctor. A Ayurveda doctor used to treat humans, animals and even do surgery on humans as well as animals. In fact there were no other pathy at that time. Therefore Ayurveda has stood the test of time, is still standing strong. I don't think that there is one person left who didn't take homemade kadha, turmeric milk, adrak wali chai etc. Home remedies during this pandemic.
All the Ayurvedic doctors will always be grateful to Acharya Charak for his contribution in the field of Ayurveda πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

The best thing about being a doctor is the satisfaction at the end of the day, it's the happiness when a patient is relieved from the disease. It's like magic, we doctors have magic to change someone's life for better. One person is better, the entire family dynamics change. If one person is not well, entire family suffers. There is something known as healing touch and healing speech, this is more important that the medicine itself. It is the faith bestowed on the doctor that gives the confidence to the patient to be cured. It is my profession to heal patients but it's more than that, it's my passion. Passion to cure/relieve each and every patient to the maximum extent as possible. No amount of money can give this happiness. It's pure bliss. This is how your career should be. One that gives you bliss, not stress and strain......

1) patient should trust the doctor and follow doctor's advices completely
2) Patient should not himself feel that he is the doctor(or knows everything about the disease)
3) Patient should be mentally strong and must have a strong will-power to get better
etc.

These are the qualities mentioned by Acharya charak in 2nd Century in Charak Samhita. These are so valid and true in 2022 also. After seeing patients on a day-to-day basis, I have found that when the patient does possess these qualities, they do get better faster than those who do not. In the era of goggle over pouring medical information - 50% of the patients being convinced that they have cancer, YouTube - where any tom dick and harry can post all the ridiculous health tips and there is no regulation on it, people do follow this religiously. Patients have so much information overload before having the first consultation with the doctor, their cup is full, so when the doctor tries to tell them that facts, their cup is not empty so they can't process this extra information. Here arises the phenomenon of taking 2nd opinions and getting more confused. This all increases the stress and increases disease further. I have seen patients suffering for decades, they change doctors very often and are not trusting any of them. As continuous line of treatment is not followed, the patients suffer.

I think we need to stop, relax and take a nice deep breath. If the car is not working, we do call a mechanic. All work has to be left to experts in that field. Instead of overthinking and over analysing everything, take a pause, follow your doctor's advice completely for the entire duration and focus on your work. I had to write this as many patients are caught up in the vicious cycle of second opnions and doctor consultation. Whichever doctor you visit, follow his/her advice completely and see the results.

Ayurveda is a science far superior than our human brain. It is clearly written that everyone does not have the intelligence to understand Ayurveda. We humans have so much ego that the things we don't understand, we think that they are not that great. We humans are not the first species to come on this planet and definately won't be the last one also. The way in which people aged 30+ are getting cardiac problems, hypertension, blood pressure is showing that mankind is going in the wrong direction. The only way to salvage this is by adopting a healthy life and following the principles of Ayurveda. There would be some reason as to why humans used to live for 400 years and now humans are getting fatal cardiac conditions at 40. Think......

Being a mother is such a nurturing and fulfilling feeling. It cannot be expressed in words. A girl becomes a women, her priorities change, her responsibilities increase. She has to now think about her child along with herself. Yes, it's a task which requires effort, determination, sanity and at times even compromises. The first compromise starts during pregnancy when she starts the weight gain, but don't worry this is just temporary as you can loose weight with the right advices post delivery. The second compromise is when she has to change and adjust her sleep times according to baby sleep times. This is a difficult for new moms as at times she is sleep deprived. Support from her family and loved ones can support her during this time. Also a feeling of staying away from career can seem daunting at this time. But I assure you that all this is actually worth it when you look at your wonderful child, the joy of bringing a life to this world and nurturing it from the start is very self satisfying task. I must say that being a mother requires a strong women and even if you are not strong, motherhood makes you strong and mature. It actually changes you from a girl to a responsible women which no school can teach. This transformation just happens. Happy mother's day to all mothers reading this. I wish u a very long and healthy life and stay blessed Always.........

Today 22nd of April is celebrated as World Earth day. The theme for this year is 'Invest in our planet'. This is mostly directed to businesses to develop methods which are earth-friendly. We all individuals can actually invest in earth and in turn invest in ourselves by planting one small shrub or sapling today and nurturing it everyday. Just imagine the impact of all of us doing this every day. We have only one earth and mankind are not yet inter-planetary species so this is a must for usπŸ‘

Ayurveda also mentioned that if desh(place where we stay) if that gets damaged/polluted, it can give rise to incurable pandemic

Time has come to care of ourselves as well as our planet. The things we have read in environmental science that one day we all will suffer due to pollution,Global warming, depletion of ozone layer, melting of glaciers, rising of sea levels, that one day might be very near if we humans don't change. Due to so many climatic changes, a pandemic like COVID-19 could wreck a havoc in human life. It's time to take care of our health as well as our mother earth. Happy health day to everyone.πŸ˜‡
