Negative Past dental experiences for kids are the toughest ones to heal 💔

✴️This fear usually stems from past painful procedures, unpleasant sound of the dental instruments, fear of unknown, parental anxiety, fear of needles, etc.

✅Here, we were able to overcome the fear of past traumatic dental experience 🤯 using Happy gas. A simple extraction of baby tooth was done 🤩The procedure took around than 20mins

No drill, no sedation, no pain only minimally invasive pediatric dentistry 💪

It was his first dental visit, of course, anxious but we were able to apply cavity fighting liquid to two teeth and place small fillings , all of this while he watched cocomelon on his mother's lap:)

✴️ Cavity fighting liquid also known as Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is primarily used for arresting or slowing down the progression of dental caries, particularly in primary (baby) teeth.

✴️ Recommended for young children who may have difficulty tolerating traditional dental treatments

✴️ It is a non-invasive, pain free, cost effective treatment that does not require drilling or removal of decayed tooth structure.

✴️ When applied to a tooth, SDF acts as an antimicrobial agent, inhibiting the growth of bacteria that cause tooth decay. It also strengthens the tooth structure by forming a protective layer of silver compounds and releasing fluoride ions that promote remineralization.

❌ It may darken the affected tooth due to the silver content, which is a cosmetic concern for some patients.
❌ not be suitable for teeth with extensive decay that requires more extensive treatment.

✅ Follow-up Care: After SDF application, we monitor the tooth at regular check-ups to assess its response to treatment. Additional applications of SDF may be necessary to maintain its effectiveness.

3. Save any broken or knocked-out teeth: If possible, locate and save any broken or knocked-out teeth. These may be able to be re-implanted or reattached by a dentist.

4. See a dentist as soon as possible: It is important to see a dentist as soon as possible after a dental injury to assess the damage and determine the appropriate treatment.

5. Prevent future injuries: Encourage your child to wear a mouthguard during sports or physical activities to prevent future dental injuries.

Overall, it is important to seek prompt dental care if your child experiences dental trauma to ensure the best possible outcome and prevent further complications.

Main Reasons:
🔺High plaque accumulation due to complex anatomy of molar teeth
🔺Inefficient toothbrushing
🔺Lack of parental awareness on tooth eruption in this area of the mouth
🔺Also, Newly erupted teeth are not fully mature

➡️Hence, early preventive approaches like sealant, and also early diagnosis of these dental caries can go a real long way in avoiding all the discomfort the child may encounter later on in his life.

5 year old!

8year old child, never motivated to brush his teeth (he thought his teeth are yellow, would never be white), also had multiple decayed teeth( treatment planned in further appointments),
