Mulch films solve some of their problems.

They protect saplings, restrict w**d growth and conserve water. Crop yields can thus increase by up to 60%.

But adverse environmental conditions mean that it can break down within a few weeks.

Manufacturers of mulch know that farmers prefer products that last longer.

Because this means longer crop protection and better yield.

One of our clients is a mulch film manufacturer, and their films were falling apart within a season.

Upon consultation, we decided to analyse their film at Tatva Knowledge Centre.

The end goal, of course: increasing longevity.

The evaluation revealed that the film contained:
🔹 A combination of masterbatches: silver, black and UV
🔹 Calcium Carbonate filler
🔹 Filler in the silver masterbatch

Testing at Tatva Knowledge Centre was crucial in diagnosing the problem.

Our evaluation determined that:
➡️ The filler was reducing the life of the mulch film
➡️ The UV masterbatch was thus going to waste

The solution was simple: switching to our silver, black and UV masterbatches.

We have two flame retardant masterbatches that make thermoplastics safer.

Our halogenated masterbatches are an inexpensive way of adding flame retardant effects to various polymers.

While their proven history and low price point means that they're the most commonly-used flame retardants, they do have a few limitations.

Some of these limitations can have undesirable effects on the end-product, eg. degradation of UV stabilization.

In contrast, non-halogenated masterbatches not only add resistance to fire, but they're also:

🎯 stable at higher temperatures
🎯 require lower doses for attaining flame retardant properties.
🎯 applicable to products that are unsuitable to halogenated masterbatches, e.g. non-woven polypropylene, polyethylene film and polypropylene fibres
🎯 suitable for FIBC packaging products that require flame retardant properties as well as UV stabilisation
🎯 compliant with stringent safety standards, including RoHS and UL94
🎯 can be safely used with ultraviolet stabilisers and do not affect product aesthetics
