SHAPOORJI PALLONJI’S LOTUS IN THE SAND!

Shapoorji Pallonji Group, one of India’s leading business houses, has successfully completed the first Hindu temple in the Middle East.

The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi was inaugurated in person on February 14, 2024, by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a grand ceremony.

An architectural marvel, the Mandir towers over the sandy landscape of the UAE. It is nestled amidst 27 acres of desert land on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, thanks to the generous donation of land by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, then Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

The Mandir is open to all faiths and is an initiative of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (the institution behind several Swaminarayan temples across India and the world).

“We, at Shapoorji Pallonji, are deeply honoured to have had the opportunity to work with BAPS and create this incredible monument that brings together art, harmony and faith. Apart from being a celebration of cultural diversity, this is a testament to our engineering expertise” said Shapoorji P Mistry, Chairman, Shapoorji Pallonji Group.

Celebration of Faith!

More than a Salgreh, it was a celebration of faith! As the Atash Padshah Saheb of Karani Agiary at Cusrow Baug celebrated 177 years of boon-bestowing radiance and glory, reports the Jam-e-Jamshed, a galaxy of eminent speakers extolled the timeless and eternal precepts of the Zoroastrian religion.

Chief guest Justice Firdosh Pooniwalla, Justice Shahrukh Kathawalla (Retd.), Homi Ranina, Karani Agiary Panthaky Saheb Er. Yezdi Aibara, Bomi Hansotia and Percy Siganporia spoke eloquently and inspired the congregation of devotees on the evening of February 1, 2024, Roj Behram Mah Shehrevar.

MILESTONE CENTENARY BRINGS MAGIC TO RUSTOM BAUG!

There was magic in the air at Rustom Baug, reports Jam-e-Jamshed, on the evening of December 22, 2023. It was a very special celebration commemorating the conclusion of Rustom Baug’s centenary year!

RBWA President Burzis Taraporevala extended a warm welcome to chief guest Justice Shahrukh Kathawala (Retd.), to the guest of honour Dinshaw Tamboly and to a very special guest—Ness Wadia.

At the start of 2023, under the guidance and leadership RBWA President Burzis Taraporevala, a core committee of Rustom Baug residents was formed to plan, organize and execute programmes and interactive events throughout the year. The committee comprised Prof. Jehangir Mistry, Beroz Gazdar, Hutoxi Doodhwala, Yazmeen Contractor, Shahrukh Irani and Pashyn Sethna.
