The difficulty with nearly all B-complex supplements is that they only contain a small part of the B-complex, the ones that are considered to be the most important (what they call "essential" vitamins). The cheapest supplements contain maybe 6 or 8 of the B-vitamins (out of over 300 that are in the B-complex), the more expensive ones maybe 10 to 12 B-vitamins, the most expensive have 16. The 1-a-day type supplements are synthetic vitamins, which are worthless, and likely even unhealthy. But, as Dr. Reams once explained, in nature, there is no such thing as vitamin B1 or B6, etc; there is only vitamin B. When we take part of the B-complex, our bodies must come up with the rest of the B-complex from our food or extracted from our body in order to metabolize the parts of the B-complex we are taking.
