It can be a major derailment and immense suffering in silence after a loss of loved one. While contemplating on my life, I asked myself a question:

“When it comes to navigating vulnerable phase of grief, what did I struggle with most?"
The answer has been loud and clear! Not knowing where to start
2. Not able to put my thoughts and feelings in proper words
3. Not having non-judgmental and safe s

We often wait for an ideal circumstance or "so-called" right time to begin the process of healing. We forget, the present moment, with all its imperfections, challenges, and uncertainties, is the opportunity to initiate the journey towards self-discovery and recovery.

Embracing one's current reality, acknowledging past wounds, and taking positive steps towards personal growth is crucial for emotional wellbeing. Waiting for the 'perfect' moment may never come, and by recognizing the potential for healing in the present, we can reclaim control over lives and lay the foundation for a more fulfilling future.

By taking that step NOW, we empower ourselves to confront challenges, develop resilience, and cultivate a sense of inner strength.

Acknowledging and embracing one's vulnerability requires a profound inner strength. It involves facing insecurities, fears, and uncertainties with courage, regardless of outcome. It demonstrates authenticity and resilience.

In this act of self-awareness, individuals open themselves to genuine connections, fostering empathy and understanding. It is a testament to emotional maturity and a powerful step towards personal growth and genuine relationships.

Grief teaches you how to be vulnerable and show up with courage!

Every emotion has physical expression. When we are unable to release sadness through crying or any other healthy process, the distressed energy gets trapped in other parts of body.
Suppressing emotions can take a toll on the physical body. It is crucial to process and release emotions.

While navigating the grief, it can be challenging to love and accept yourself the way you are!
But grief is love that has no where to go. So, Turn it inwards.

Here are many reasons why you must love yourself in any situation:

Loving yourself is seen as the foundation for building healthy and meaningful relationships with others. When you have a strong sense of self-worth and self-compassion, you are better equipped to give and receive love in a genuine and fulfilling way.

When you understand and appreciate who you are, you are more likely to engage in relationships authentically, bringing your true self to the connection. This authenticity can enhance the quality of your interactions with others.

Self-love involves setting and maintaining healthy boundaries. Knowing your worth allows you to establish clear boundaries in relationships, which is crucial for maintaining balance and ensuring that your needs are met.

Self-love contributes to emotional resilience. When you have a strong sense of self-love, you are better equipped to handle challenges, setbacks, and criticism. This resilience can prevent external factors from affecting your self-esteem and overall well-being.

Loving yourself sets a positive example for others. By demonstrating self-love, you inspire those around you to prioritize their own well-being and self-care. This can create a positive ripple effect within your social circles.

Loving yourself first helps you avoid seeking validation solely from external sources, fostering independence and self-sufficiency.

It's important to note that loving oneself doesn't imply selfishness or disregard for others. It doesn’t mean that you have forgotten your loved one. Instead, it helps you recognize that a healthy and balanced self-love is the basis for forming deep, meaningful, and mutually beneficial connections with others.

Expressing sadness after a loss is normal. Nothing is wrong with you. It means you are human.

In a society that expects you to move on, forget and get over the loss, it can be challenging to allow yourself to express your real feelings.

However, your every emotion is valid. That sadness, misery and sorrow you experience after a loss is real. It is normal and natural experience which makes you human.

I feel grounded when I take responsibility of my feelings. It makes me feel empowered and in control of myself.

When you expect or rely on others to change for you to be happy, you place your emotional well-being in their hands. This can be problematic for several reasons:
a. You have limited control: You cannot control the actions, thoughts, or feelings of other people. Expecting them to change to make you happy is setting yourself up for potential disappointment and frustration.
b. External validation: Relying on others for your happiness means that your emotional state is dependent on external factors, which can be unstable and unpredictable. This dependence on external validation can lead to insecurity and anxiety.

Instead of relying on others, one should learn to take control of your own emotions and happiness. It helps in several ways:
a. Self-awareness: Understanding your own emotions, triggers, and responses allows you to recognize when you might be feeling unhappy or stressed and take proactive steps to address those feelings.
b. Self-care: By focusing on self-care and self-improvement, you can actively work on your own well-being. This can include activities like exercise, mindfulness, meditation, or pursuing personal goals.
c. Emotional resilience: Developing emotional resilience enables you to cope with challenges and difficulties more effectively, without relying on external factors to change. You become better at managing stress and finding inner peace.

When you're not dependent on others for your happiness, your interactions with them can be more authentic and less burdened by expectations. This inner joy is more sustainable and resilient.

✨Emotions are a product of our thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions. When we encounter people or situations, our emotional responses are often influenced by how we interpret and react to those encounters. This means that the power to elicit specific emotional responses lies within us, not with the external factors themselves.
✨We have control over how we react to people and situations. While we may not have control over the actions of others or external events, we can choose how we respond to them. This choice empowers us to determine whether we experience anger, frustration, sadness, or other emotions, or whether we choose more positive, constructive responses.
✨By practicing mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques, we can learn to respond to situations and people in a more balanced and constructive way. This can help us avoid unnecessary stress and negative emotions that result from triggers
✨Changing our perspective on a situation can alter our emotional response. For instance, viewing a challenging situation as an opportunity for growth or learning, rather than as a threat, can lead to a more positive reaction.
✨The concept encourages emotional detachment from external circumstances and a focus on internal control. It doesn't mean suppressing emotions but rather becoming more aware of them and choosing our responses intentionally.

In summary, people and situations have no inherent power to upset us. Our emotional reactions are the key factor in determining how we experience the world. By recognizing this and taking control of our reactions, we can reduce unnecessary stress and negativity in our lives and increase our ability to navigate challenging situations with resilience and composure.

David Kessler's words beautifully encapsulate the profound experience of grief.

Grief isn't just a passing emotional experience; it's a complex and multifaceted response.

It has spiritual dimensions and can lead to questions about the meaning of life, the nature of existence, and the search for purpose.

People may turn to their faith or spirituality as a source of solace and understanding during this challenging time.

Healing implies a process of becoming whole again, even in the face of a changed reality. It involves adapting to life without the presence of what or whom we've lost.

It's a testament to the love, connection, and significance of what we've lost.

"Grief is not a problem to be solved; it's an experience to be carried."

I love this quote by Meghan Devine! Meeting grief and loss in culture that doesn't understand is challenging. Considering sorrow and misery of loss as a problem to be solved, complicates the process further. However, if we learn to tend into it and ready to experience and go through it, journey becomes easier.

A bitter truth!

Pain is unavoidable, particularly when it depends on external circumstances; once pain is there, it should be embraced and dealt with at most calm and composure. On the contrary, suffering is optional because it is actually an interpretation of our mind. Our mind has a potential to banish suffering through giving new meaning and reframing the perception of event.

Difficult but not impossible!
