Meet Varsha! She's such a big part of our pack. Varsha dons many roles as a single mother, a caretaker, a guardian, a companion for our dogs and helps us in so many behavior cases and training clients be it for desensitization towards house help, reactivity to mops and so much more. Being a single mother life has been tough on her but we are always amazed to see how progressive she is with such minimum resources. She defines the word 'hero'. What we love about her the most is that she'll never make the mistakes again, she'll make new ones 😂 When you're building something with your partner, be it business or family it is a team effort and varsha is an important member of our team. Send her some love because she deserves it and so much more! ❤️
Drop by sometime to say hi and feast on her meals because she makes the worlds best Chai, poha and sabudana khichadi!

Beagles are notorious for using their cute little noses to explore everything around them. Many beagle owners will agree that sometimes they trust their nose over their brain!

BOARDING A PUPPY

Now who doesn't like puppies? The little yawns, their goofy movements, their bubbly energy, it's all a big package of cuteness isn't it?
Say hello to Kiwi! She's a 4 month bundle of joy with massive energy and on a quest to explore! Kiwi will be staying with us for 10 days and at such a young age it's a big responsibility for a pet boarder.
When a puppy is on board it comes with a lot more responsibility in comparison to an adult dog. Their schedules are very different and at such a young age we have to be careful in deciding the exposure to be given to the pup.
Before starting any dog to dog socialization (which is a big factor in boarding) the puppy must feel comfortable in the new environment and routine. In order to build their confidence they need to be able to trust the new handlers ie humans at the setup. A strict schedule must be followed which in return allows us to continue with his/her potty training which the owners are already doing at home. Nutritious food is equally important since its their growing age. The pup will also get exposed to new sounds, new surfaces and new faces which can be intimidating but under the right care it can do wonders. Puppies are very eager to new experiences and these experiences need to be organized carefully not allowing the pup to get over stimulated.
Dog to dog socialization is unavoidable in a boarding setup so it is our responsibility to make sure whom we expose the pup to. Ideally they should be exposed to senior dogs with good communication skills so that they understand and learn boundaries.
Just because they are extremely cute we cannot over coddle them because that can give them false confidence or lead to separation anxiety in future.
Even if it's more work, there's never a dull day with puppies like Kiwi on board! ❤️

When you run a boarding facility, every day is a school day. You learn so much about different dogs, their body language, how they communicate. Some are shy, some are confident, some are over friendly while some are nervous. Couple of days back we boarded a Golden Retriever, a very happy go lucky dog in general but what we realized is that the dog didn't know what to do without the owners. Pet dogs are definitely completely dependent on humans ie their owners but while raising them its important to RETAIN THEIR INDIVIDUALISM. At times when pet owners come to us for a boarding consult we get to hear this a lot 'my dog loves me so much that he doesn't eat if i dont feed him/her', 'my dog loves me so much that he/she cannot sleep anywhere other than my bed'. Our dogs know only what we teach them and what we enable them to do. Pet dogs can never be fully independent because their primary needs are taken care of by their owners but it's also essential to give your dog enough exposure to fit into your lifestyle. Don't wait for the time you "have" to board your dog, start getting them used it to early in life. To give an example, when you send your child to school would you like to hear the teachers say that the child didn't enjoy at all? Sat in one corner, barely ate their tiffin and didn't interact with anyone? Same goes with dogs, your dog shouldn't be so stressed in your absence that they are incapable of doing the basic things. Because that isn't love. Raise them right!

Imagine your multi dog household as a rock band... Just like each musician has a specific role to play, maintaining hierarchy ensures each dog knows their "instrument" in the pack. This creates individual security, stability, reduces tension and competition thereby making interactions smoother.
Establishing hierarchy involves providing clear leadership through consistent rules, routines, and training.
Remember, a good leader is never the biggest, loudest or the most violent one in the pack. A good leader is an excellent communicator!

Home is Heidi's drool, her resting bitch face and constant manipulation for food. Home is Shadow's attitude, his fur in ever nook and cranny of the house and screaming murder when its bath time. Home is Pepper's destruction, her smelly mouth and random squeals. Home is Asahis energy that nobody asked for and stealing socks!
Our little pack we call HOME! ❤️

Every day, I look into those soulful eyes and make a promise. A promise to be the best human I can be for my furry companion. I promise to provide a loving home, filled with warmth, comfort, and unwavering care. I promise to nourish your body and mind with nutritious meals, stimulating toys, and endless playtime. I promise to listen, to understand your needs and to be your voice when you cannot speak.
But it doesn't stop there. I promise to be responsible. I will expose you to the world, helping you build confidence and trust.I promise to be patient and gentle, for I understand that training and everything else that follows takes time and consistency. I will guide you with love, spoil you silly while ensuring you learn about your boundaries without having to inflict pain upon you or fear in you. I will be your teacher, your protector and your rock in times of uncertainty.
Most importantly, I promise to love you unconditionally, every day, for as long as we both shall live. I will cherish the joy you bring, the laughter you ignite, and the unwavering loyalty you demonstrate. You are not just a dog; you are family, an irreplaceable part of my life.

So let us come together as responsible dog owners, united in our promise to give our furry friends the love, care, and respect they deserve. Together, we can create a world where every dog is cherished, where their tails wag with happiness, and where they know they are forever home. 🐾❤️

VET VISITS

Vet visits are one of the most important activities in your pets life. Some pet owners struggle a lot to manage or control their dog in such situations. Why do you think that happens? Your vet visits are always associated with confined spaces, needles, over handling, smell of meds, etc and that creates negative association with that place.
But there is a way help your pet ease his stress via simple exercises that should ideally start at home. Eg : while training your puppy you can gently desensitize your pet to any form of touch. You can also visit your vet with your pet just to purchase treats or have a small 5min training session. THESE EXPERIENCES ARE CRUCIAL FOR YOUR DOG SO AS TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE NOT TOO STRESSED OUT AT THE VET AND HENCE EASY TO MANAGE.

POWER OF IGNORANCE!

With dog training we often talk about rewards, markers, positive reinforcement etc but rarely do we talk about the importance of ignoring behaviours. Not all behaviours need corrections or comforting but ignoring a dog goes a long way in some aspects. For example, dogs react to certain noises around them, it could be a car backfiring, a branch falling off or maybe just a road roller doing its job. We often tend to the dog by comforting them and saying 'its okay, don't worry' which adds a meaning to these sounds making your dog even more anxious. In these situations ignoring helps when you simply don't give a reaction to that behavior. Not reacting helps them understand that it's a part of everyday life, it can happen at anytime and while it's okay to get startled you don't have to necessarily get too worked up about it.

DOGS & BOUNDARIES!

What are boundaries? Boundary is a line you don't cross. And why? Is it because you are taking away the dogs freedom? NO! Boundaries help the pack to be organized and disciplined. Be it a single dog household or a multiple one, boundaries are important to avoid issues like aggression, pack aggression, resource guarding, stealing etc. It adds structure to the pack/family. Setting boundaries at an early age helps your pet to condition themselves to the rules and rules for any structure are crucial. Here's Asahi•(the mali) being the goodest boy and showing no interest in the husky's (Shadow) food bowl. This way Shadow feels secure about his food as he eats while Asahi learns not to meddle while another dog eats. START EARLY!

BRINGING HOME AN INDIE.

When you get a puppy/adult dog off the streets you are taking the dog away from its natural environment. Now there could be several reasons for a person/family to take that decision but that's not the point of this post. What's important is what you do after the dog is home. Searching for food, finding a secure space to sleep etc is part of their survival, but when it comes to them easy ie without work is when the problems start occurring. Training isn't just about what commands you teach a dog, it's about establishing boundaries and having clear communication as part of the pack. Remember you are taking a living thing off its natural environment and bringing it home(in a new environment) Always remember to do what's best for the dog taking into consideration your lifestyle and that also means whether or not you should get a dog off the streets in the first place. Be responsible!

AGRESSION DUE TO TOUCH SENSITIVITY

Some dogs are born with touch sensitivity but in most cases some dogs develop this issue mostly due to WRONG or OVER HANDLING.
Dogs are simple creatures who thrive in effectively communicative environment. We all love our pets and like to display affection via touch. But it is also important to understand the dogs boundaries. When given in limits, it's the dog who craves for your touch. Understand those limits. Let your dog enjoy the touch rather than being pressurized by it. Anything in excess is never the best idea.

Rommy has been with us for 2 months for his board and train programme for this issue and as you can see he now willingly accepts and enjoys the interaction during his home groom. Thank .in for recognising this issue and encouraging the owners to work on it ❤️

*WE GOT A SECOND DOG BECAUSE MY FIRST DOG WAS GETTING BORED*

It's a common misconception where you think your dog needs a friend/brother/sister. Did your dog tell you that? If you think your dog is bored and displaying behaviors out of boredom all you need to do is INVEST TIME in the dog you already have! All your dog needs is YOU! ❤️

The muddy paws, wet fur, dirty car, it's all worth it to see them this happy! ❤️
