Vitamin D requirement varies from person to person (case to case) basis. Since vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin your body can’t get rid of it easily increasing storage and hence causing side effects.
Exercising caution while taking vitamin D is a must.

If you are self medicating (which I’ve heard a lot of people doing during lockdown to protect against COVID-19 infection) then stop immediately if you have exceeded this limit.

How to know you are vitamin D deficient during COVID times? How to get vitamin D from sun?
Being a sunshine vitamin, vitamin D was never abundant in food.
Mother Nature never thought we humans might be sitting at home all day long avoiding sun. Neither did she ever expect pollution to get so bad that getting vitamin D from decent amount of sun exposure in a tropical and sunny country would become a dream.
For vegetarians vitamin D is naturally available only in mushrooms but in traces. It’s not enough to meet daily requirement in absence of sun exposure. Vitamin D food fortification is not as rampant in our country.
Luckily non vegetarians had quite a few, vitamin D rich options to choose from !

Vitamin D is a sunshine vitamin.
Ideally sun exposure should be enough to get into 90% of our daily requirement of vitamin D and only 10% should come from our diet.
Fun fact : Daily exposure to sunlight (whether you get vitamin D or not) acts as mood elevator. Next time you feel gloomy try standing under the sun for sometime. It might help you!

If anything has helped me deal with stress and uncertainty in life it’s ‘yoga’.
I started practising yoga while I was going through one of the worst phases of life. It helped me stay positive in face of adversity. It gave me confidence to start everything from a scratch. It gave me strength and courage to do things I never thought I could do. It was a gradual process. But consistent practice got me results. It’s never too late to start.

I just bought 3 dozens of mangoes. Last mango of this season! Was thinking I should address the elephant (rather mango) in the room...
I keep getting hearing this every summer “I’m on a diet but can I eat a mango?”& “I’m a diabetic, can I eat a mango?” So many people eat a mango with so much guilt.
