उपायुक्त ऊना राघव शर्मा ने जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि पर्यावरण संरक्षण के दृष्टिगत 1 जुलाई, 2022 से जिला ऊना में सिंगल यूज़ प्लास्टिक वस्तओं के उत्पादन, भंडारण, वितरण, बिक्री व उपयोग पर पूर्ण प्रतिबंधित रहेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इन प्रतिबंधित चीजों में प्लास्टिक की छड़ियों के साथ कान की कलियां, गुब्बारों के लिए प्लास्टिक की छड़ें, प्लास्टिक के झंडे, कैंडी की छड़ें, सजावट के लिए पॉलीस्टाइरीन (थर्मोकोल) की सजावटी सामग्री, प्लेटें, कप, गिलास, कटलरी जैसे कांटे, चम्मच, चाकू, मिठाई के बक्से के चारों ओर फिल्म लपेटना या पैकिंग करना, निमंत्रण कार्ड और सिगरेट के पैकेट, प्लास्टिक या पीवीसी बैनर 100 माइक्रोन से कम व स्ट्रिरर इत्यादि सामग्री शामिल हैं।
राघव शर्मा ने बताया कि इसके अलावा प्लास्टिक कचरा प्रबंधन नियमानुसार वर्जित या पुनः चक्रित प्लास्टिक से बना कैरी बैग 120 माइक्रोन से कम मोटाई का नहीं होना चाहिए। उन्होंने सभी उत्पादकों, स्टॉकिस्टों, खुदरा विक्रेताओं, दुकानदारों, ई-कॉमर्स कम्पनियों, स्ट्रीट वैंडरों, व्यावसायिक प्रतिष्ठानों मॉल, मार्किट प्लेस, शॉपिंग सैंटर्स, सिनेमा हाउस, पर्यटक स्थलों, स्कूलों, कार्यालय परिसरों, अस्पताओं और अन्य संस्थानों का आहवान किया कि वह वर्जित प्लास्टिक को प्रयोग में न लाएं तथा पर्यावरण संरक्षण में अपनी भागाीदारी सुनिश्चित करें।
उन्होंने कहा कि उल्लंघन करने वालों के विरूद्ध पर्यावरण सरंक्षण अधिनियम के तहत उचित कानूनी कार्रवाई अमल में लाई जाएगी।
