Inspiring 17 Years Old Girl with SMA2

By the age of 4, everything was alright, but my parents were waiting for that day when they can see their daughter walking. But they lost their patience and took me to the AIIMS to know the reason, why I didn't take a single step, but with no proper response, they returned. After noticing my parent's condition our landlord suggested my dad take me to the Chandigarh hospital. My parents broke down when the doctor uttered “apki beti kabhi chal nahi paegi”.

I have a rare, non-curable genetic disorder called Spinal Muscular Allotropy. There are five types of this disease, the one which I've is SMA2. To describe this disease in easy language for you all, I would say my genes don't have the motor neuron which is responsible for transmitting the signal from the brain to the muscle, and as a result of this, I can't walk. In this disease, over time the physical strength of the affected person decreases, and the same has happened to me. I have become completely bedridden! I lay the whole day straight on my bed and this is how life goes on. Before 2020, I used to sit in my wheelchair. But since June 2020, my body was in unbearable pain and yes now I've become completely bedridden! I lost the ability to sit even in my wheelchair.

What is Life? Well! Living in the moment and seizing that moment is how I would define life. I have lost a lot of things. I wasn't given the ability to walk, however, I was happy with the ability to sit. But I have lost that too. So I cherish those 15 years, where at least I had that sitting ability. All those memories of 15 years keep me going, and to be honest I still have a lot! I'm grateful for that. There is no smartness in being sad over the things I have lost. I live in the present and enjoy that and that matters the most!

There are days when I don't feel like anything and all I want is to disappear. But remembering that there are people like me and for the sake of them I have to do what I do is what keeps me going! Although, I will not forget the two strongest pillars of my life, my mom and dad. I'm nothing without them. If I'm here, all the credit goes to them for not giving up on me. They are the ultimate source of my strength.

My journey has been a rollercoaster!
When I became bedridden, I felt like these four walls have caged me for a lifetime but deep inside I knew that I'm a free mind and a free soul. I don't give these four walls the power to catch me. I promised myself that I will fly high with my flaws. I didn't choose this life, this life has chosen me. I love writing and my passion for writing lead me to choose a career as a content writer. I am a 12th science student and along with that, I love freelancing. I am proud to be who I am, this disease is not my weakness this is my pride! My strength! Hearing “Your daughter wouldn't be able to walk because of this disease” from the doctor, and being rejected by a high reputable school because I'm a differently-abled person, to recording a podcast and inspiring millions! I think I've made it! And I'll make bigger things happen soon.

Coming to what discourages me, it is not something like what discourages me but this is something I don't like! I live in a world that tends to celebrate sameness and likes to label unique people as crippled, handicapped, disabled, etc. and I can't understand the reason for this. We are just different, not bad, not abnormal, just different! I believe disability is a myth. With our abilities, we are capable of achieving anything and everything that we want!

Life is tough, it can never be easy! God has his own plans for me. If he took my walking & sitting ability, I trust him, that he is going to give me something better. After all, I am his special child!

Love yourself first! I'll repeat love yourself first! Be kind to yourself! The only person who matters the most in your life is YOU! Enjoy your own company! The most important and my favorite one! Live in the moment, enjoy every moment to the fullest because it won't come back, you'll just have those memories. These little moments give us big memories! Enjoy them!

It is said that a person’s name reflects a lot on his/her characteristics. But is it always true? My name is Sushil, which means, to be intelligent, or studious. I was totally the opposite of it and was a very notorious child. I was born in an impoverished family where there were tons of responsibilities for my parents. I became a ray of hope to them as they believed that I will achieve something big in life and get rid of all the problems. My parent's hope got decreasing growing up as I was not paying attention to anything.

My father was the sole earner of the family. He was a rickshaw driver, who used to burn the midnight oil to manage the expenses of our home and also to pay the fees of his children. My father also had a small shop called ‘Gumti’, which he used to repair cycles. To help my father in that, I started working with him. Although, this did not prove to be helpful as my marks got very low in my 8th grade. My parents got upset and it made them realize that this might ruin my career ahead.

My naughtiness continued till the 10th grade, until one day, observing my father, I decided to make my parents proud. After I completed my 10th grade, I decided to take up a job as I wanted to bring in extra income which could help with my family expenses. I also took up a diploma course, even though it was not my desired study option. My father’s health was not very good and my mother was also continuously worried and crying about him.

A couple of years passed by and things got a little back on track. My father’s health improved and he again started to drive the rickshaw. Talking about me, I passed my diploma with distinction. I was already dreaming about various things which I will enjoy but it could not be possible soon. As I stepped out of my college, I was expecting a decent job with a handsome salary. But those dreams were shattered as I could not get a pleasant job due to the competitive market which exists. Sometime later, I got myself into the Electrical industry with a mere salary of just ₹5000. My position was as a Junior Electrical Engineer. I did not just do the work related to my position but also did all sorts of odd jobs also which were not related to my employment.

I knew that I could not move forward in life like this. I had to do something different which would take me to someplace. I started developing new skills with each passing day. I used to make notes of several things, started meditating to keep calm, prepared for job interviews, and also learned fluent English.

I was finally placed in L&T after many years of struggle. I was on cloud 9 when I received my offer letter. Though my salary increased to ₹40,000, it still wasn’t enough to meet the expenses. I had purchased a house at the age of 23 and the monthly installments were being debited from my account. Along with this, the responsibility of the marriage of my sister was also in my hands. I also got married in 2019, and with new members added, new responsibilities were also added.

My salary was stagnant for 3 years and it was becoming very difficult to manage the household expenses. The tables turned one fine day when I got an offer letter to go abroad for work. I was very excited about this opportunity but convincing my parents was also difficult.

Eventually, they agreed and I shifted to France as a Sr. Engineer. I am happily living here and also looking after my family. I even started the next chapter of life as a Father. This phase has brought me immense happiness and also I feel much closer to my parents.

When I started my journey, I never imagined my life like this. Even today, there are many parents in Bihar, who cannot give their children a proper education and a good standard of living unless they migrate to another city.

I was born in Almora, Uttarakhand. Born in a poor family, I always had a bag of responsibilities with me. My parents live in my hometown only, my father is taking care of my mother who is currently hospitalized. My brother and I are currently staying and working in Noida. We live in the Barola village.

In my childhood, I have listened to and read about the lives of soldiers. I got inspired by their stories of them and decided that one day I will also join the Indian Army. I have a fixed schedule of mine which I follow every day. Just at 19 years of age, I work the day shift while my brother works the night shift. I leave for work at 8 A.M. I work in a McDonald’s outlet which is approximately 10 kms from my house. I leave from there at night and run back to my house so that my body remains fit. Along with this, I also get trained while running, as I do not have any other time to do it.

A few days back, while I was following my schedule, Mr. Vinod Kapri recorded my video and my conversation with him. He asked me why I was running late at night. He even offered me help by saying that he will drop me at my house, but I declined as it will disturb my schedule and also I will miss my training. When I said no to that, he offered me dinner at his house, but I had to say no to that as well. I had to go home and prepare dinner for my brother, who will go to work once I reach.

The video went viral, and I achieved overnight fame. Many big politicians and sports persons congratulated me and gave me best wishes for my hard work. Lt. Gen Satish Dua sir also had words of praise for me and gave me the motivation to join the Army. Atul Kasbekar also sent me a sports kit from Puma, which had running shoes, apparel, and a backpack.

I am enjoying the love and recognition I have been receiving from all around the country, but this may distract me. Fame may become a barrier between my goals and dreams. I have requested that people not treat me extremely special. My brother one day got worried about me when I was taken to a news studio and he did not know anything about it. I also had to take a leave from my shift due to it. I am a normal Indian student who is following his dreams and does not want any kind of disturbance in between.

I am extremely happy today. More than happy, I am feeling much more confident than yesterday for the faith people have in me. One day, I will make the entire country proud once again when I get selected into the Indian Army.

Remembering my days, how I crave to do something in my life and looking for opportunities to make my show must go on with all the difficulties.

I was born in a small village in Uttar Pradesh, India. Parents’ vision towards their girl child has been developing in the recent past and this was not the scenario many years ago. On top of this, if you are a girl child born in a small village, the orthodox mindset of not educating the daughter and marrying her off at a young age has been prevailing for a long time. While my maternal family is well educated and motivated me to pursue education and achieve something in my life, my paternal family was completely the opposite. They did not support the idea of educating me. I realized that if I stayed in my village, my father would decide on my marriage soon. As a result, I moved out of my village at a very young age and shifted to Gujarat, where I pursued higher education.

Right from the age of 17, I got a job in a private school and took the responsibility of running my family by myself. I managed my studies along with the job. To manage the daily expenses, I also started taking personal tuition at home. This continued for many years and I gained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in this period. I was given the responsibility of looking after my brother as well, who was 9 years younger than me.

By the time I reached 25, I was still running out of money and could not fulfill the family’s needs. I decided to move out of the country, which would provide a better income to fulfill the demands of my family, as I was the sole earner. My father did not agree with this idea. I somehow convinced my father by giving the reason for his son’s education. My father, who did not even send me to the nearby store alone, said yes to me, to move out of the country.

I contacted visa agencies and passport services to move to Canada. I flew out of the country on 11th June 2014 with dreams in my mind about getting a white-collar job. While I was on the plane, I thought that all my struggles were completed and now everything was going to be fine. My dreams got shattered once I reached there. I found out that the visa agency had cheated on me. They provided me with a visitor visa instead of a work permit. This did not allow me to work in companies and also not get a handsome salary.

Without informing anyone, I took up all sorts of odd jobs and worked on farms, only to survive there and also to feed my family. I did a lot of hard work and had sleepless nights for 3 years and then one day; I got the biggest achievement of my life till that day. I was awarded and recognized by the ‘Rookie Manager of the year in 2017’. I was felicitated in Los Vegas, USA.

My life began to take a proper shape after this. I had a decent job and enough money. Afterward, my aim was to help my brother to settle down as I did. My brother cleared all his exams and secured a rank. He then studied for IELTS and cleared that as well. Within a few months, he also joined me there and started his journey.

Myself Preeti, Today, both me and my brother have secured high-paying jobs and are settled happily in Canada. I consider my brother the biggest achievement in my life. For me, family happiness is of utmost importance. Though I may have been cheated many times in the past by many people, I do not remember that and focus on the next chapters of my life.

There is nothing wrong with being poor if you have a happy family.
I was born and brought up in a typical Gujarati poor family in (Unava) Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

My father, who was a farmer, was the sole earner of the family. Along with me, I have two young siblings as well. Things were going in a straight line till the 10th grade when I was about to choose my career path to go in the stream of science, commerce, or humanities. Then, an incident happened which shocked me and left me speechless. My father took his last breath and died due to cancer. I was standing numb in the corner watching my father’s dead body. Burst out with tears by imagining the future of my innocent family. Before I could enjoy my childhood, the responsibility to handle my 2 younger siblings and mother made me sensible and in charge of all financial expenses of the home.

Yes, I remember the day when I didn’t even have a roof on my head. I can’t forget how many nights my family stayed starving for food and basic needs. I had taken up the job of a dishwasher in a restaurant, selling tea door to door and also selling vegetables on the road to survive every day. I somehow managed to complete my 12th grade in the commerce stream along with it. The money which I brought home was not enough to handle the expenses. As a result, my mother also took up the job of a maid just to bring home some extra money. I was an ambitious person and it was my dream too to hold a degree in my hand to make my father feel proud, so I got admission to B.Com in a city college and started working even more because I did not want my siblings to remain uneducated.

When I was in my last year of graduation, I was preparing for my exams vigorously to take up a white-collar job that could give me a decent income to run the home. But as we say, destiny is not planned for anyone and my destiny also took a turn. I received a call from an unknown person. Over the call, I just heard “Paisa kamava che? “Taare food delivery karwanu rehse”. I was in a dilemma as I had to choose between money and my career. Looking at the financial conditions of my home, I decided to take up the path that could give me money.

Once I started my job, I worked very hard to deliver raw food materials to restaurants and catering services. Whenever I delivered food, I would receive a minor commission of ₹1. This was not enough to satisfy my family's needs. I never thought anything bad for anyone so how god is going to be cruel to my family. With a strong determination, I worked day and night and soon got my younger siblings married. I am a proud man who got fame in Unava and Gandhinagar city for good deeds only. I believe my struggle and hard work must make my father proud today.

I am Ronak Patel. Today with a single hand I established my business that deals with many restaurants, catering businesses, and even street-side food stalls in Gandhinagar and also the nearby cities.

Krishna Yadav (A Well Know Name In The Field Of Digital Marketing Services)

A boy from Vadodara never thought that he would be in this field and never dreamt to be a Solopreneur. Krishna Yadav, son of a normal wage earner, survived his childhood with many difficulties. But never thought to give up on the situation.

After completing his graduation, he tried to start his career as a developer, but instead of getting a proper opportunity, he faced many rejections. Even so, Krishna endured and got a job as a lecturer and worked in Bits Edu. Campus (Babaria College) and took admission in M.tech from Parul University.

While working as a lecturer from 2011 to 2012 but was always prospering to start his own business. Yet, due to a lack of funds to implement his ideas, he couldn’t start working on his dreams just yet.

Being an optimist, he never gave up. He went on to create a website by himself by the name of yee-dreams. Here other people could learn unique skills to get their dream job or to start their career as an entrepreneur.
Yet, sooner because of the financial crisis, he had to sell that website to a Bangalore-based company. But again after some time, he started a brand new E-commerce, online leather bag selling company with 4 other employees.

But the situation was not in his favor. He started with a rented office where even Rs.15,000 rent was too much for him. Although, the situation worsened when he had to take a loan to give salary to his employees, and soon Camel leathers also came to a closure.

Krishna Yadav never thought to give up. Even after facing a lot of financial crises, he came up with Infibusiness Solution: a digital marketing company in the year 2015. After facing a lot of failure in life, he prepared himself for the worst situation.
In the beginning, he struggled for more than 6 months to get his first client, i.e. Bhavani Control System with a minor income. Generating lead for new business was more difficult for him as a single-handed entrepreneur.

He used to walk everywhere to get in touch with different small business owners, instead of sending an email or business cards. Still, he got nothing. He knew this was his calling and kept on working hard to get more clients.

Slowly, he started using Social Media, Content Marketing and SEO to rank websites and blogs. It all went well, and the website started getting traffic.

Starting with very little money in his pocket, today Infibusiness Solution has become a million-dollar company. We have worked with over 2000+ clients till now. The company mainly deals with small business owners based in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Krishna believes that for accomplishing your dreams, it is not necessary to have huge funds or leave your country or state. You can use your skills and grab the opportunity even by staying at your village to be successful in life. By doing this, even the youth of our country is presenting and innovating the new technology to make India proud.
