Nontox EU Project has just turned one year older and partners have joined the third Consortium Meeting (online) to update each other on progresses obtained in the last months. During the meeting, partners had the chance to discuss with members of the EEAB (External Expert Advisory Board) getting their advices. Ecodom Consorzio hosted the 2nd Consortium Meeting of the NONTOX project. Project partners are performing different activities to study the best solutions for plastic recycling by removing hazardous substances. They updated each other, eating pasta and pizza, about the ongoing progresses and decided together the next steps for an efficient collaboration. Let’s find solutions for , let’s !

Today and tomorrow VTT, our project partner, is participating to the “LIFE Platform meeting on Chemicals & Indicator Workshop” in Vilnius, Lithuania. Starting from the topics covered in NONTOX, VTT will discuss about framework, policies and contained in plastics from , and .

Today UNIVAN, our project partner, is attending to the “4th KISR/Italian workshop on Waste Management and Research” in Kuwait. The discussion will be about the concerns related to and the assessment of innovative recycling schemes. It will be a great chance to disseminate about the methodology we are using in the of our project.

Last Tuesday, Galea Polymers, a Spanish partner expert in the recycling of plastics, was invited at the regional dissemination activity organized in Valladolid to explain the NONTOX project and its targets. Galea Polymers, thanks to its experience will support the consortium partners in the evaluation of present and future methods for plastic waste .

(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), (End of Life Vehicles) and (Construction and Demolition Waste): how to increase the quality of the fractions originating from these three key streams? NONTOX will test Extruclean and CreaSolv technologies to remove hazardous additives and undesired compounds from plastic waste. The by-products will be valorized through thermochemical conversion . This is our strategy to produce and valuable secondary plastic materials!

Good news! There is a new alliance against growing : it is time to get to work for the H2020 project . Project partners met for the first time on June 26-27 at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and in the next three years they will collaborate to meet the of boosting plastic .
