In our club we belong to many different worlds as we're an international group of people coming from different countries. We have one thing in common: we want to excel in public speaking in English!

Yesterday we held our last meeting before the summer break.

We learnt a lot about gestures and body language !
Using them when speaking isn’t just a way to engage your audience and help them remember your content.
Gestures also help you, the speaker, learn, remember and articulate your speech.

Carlo talked about the fears he has in live and how important is to identify them and then turn into sources of motivation. Powerful his gesture with his hands putting his fears in front of him and sharing them with all of us .

Later, we had a humorous speech from Giorgio, who explained us how to leave with style your corporate job. A rich and powerful demonstration of how you can engage with the audience and communicate using hands, face , body movements and moving purposefully across the stage

As the vacation period is approaching, we’ll be meeting next time on September 9th.

In our meetings, besides the public speaking, we learn also about active listening, specially when giving feedback and evaluations, but also during our sweetest part of the evening- the Hark Master session.

Yesterday we held our first meeting in the New Toastmasters year. The theme of the night were the different roles in our lives and in the club. It was also the first meeting for the new Excomm.
We started with an inspiring Icebreaker from Nelly about her childchood and continued with Arianna's humorous speech about the timer's role. Finally, Phoeby gave us some tips on how to activate our English, which does not always need to be perfect. An important message for an international club as The Milliners!
