🎨🌸Our Lifedrawing online session of 7 August will stage the works of Dante Gabriel Rossetti. 🦋🌹This painting will inspire the second pose of our model Dalila.
DGR thought to do this painting early in 1874, when he wrote to his brother about this pastel version he had finished. Surtees describes the picture, now in a private collection, as a “Half-length figure of a female n**e turned slightly to the right. She holds a crystal globe in her right hand and her left hand is raised to her shoulder; her long auburn hair, worn in a thick fringe on the forehead, covers her left shoulder”

🎨🌸Our Lifedrawing online session of 7 August will stage the works of Dante Gabriel Rossetti. 🦋🌹This painting will inspire the first pose of our model Dalila. “Venus Verticordia” (1868) 🦋Model of Painter Alexa Wilding (born Alice Wilding, c. 1847 – 25 April 1884) was one of the favourite models of the Pre-Raphaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, featuring in some of his finest paintings of the later 1860s and 1870s. She sat for more of his finished works than any other of his more well-known muses, including Elizabeth Siddall, Jane Morris and F***y Cornforth.
