🌱 great news from the European Union! The European Parliament has officially greenlit a regulation promoting the right to repair products. This move aims to reduce environmental impact and protect consumers by encouraging over replacement.🛠️ The new directive will support repairs during and beyond the two-year legal warranty period. Sellers will offer free repairs within the warranty period, encouraging consumers to opt for repair rather than replacement. 🌍 This initiative is part of the EU's Green Deal and is expected to lead to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, resource consumption, and waste. Additionally, substantial economic savings for consumers and investments in the repair sector are anticipated. 💡 The directive will be formally adopted once it's approved by the Council and published in the Official Journal of the European Union, giving member states 24 months to incorporate it into national law. A major step towards a circular and sustainable economy and if you can't fix it, it's not yours!
