📍 Museo della Frutta "Francesco Garnier Valletti"
📌 Inaugurazione mostra "Erik Kessels MELE e PERE"

A couple of years ago we worked on an annual report about live activities and shows held in our region in 2019. Our minds immediately went to the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus School foundation. And, talking about this specific cultural field, we decided to celebrate it mainly through the Triadisches Ballett, the show that gave Oskar Schlemmer and Bauhaus the opportunity of building recognizability while working in the area of live performances. We took a lot of direct inspirations from different Bauhaus projects, consciously being very close to the original work. We also took the occasion of using two new fonts that were designed during a special workshop led by who completed unfinished type works by the Bauhaus masters with the aid of a group of students. We used these fonts - Alforn Regular and Joschmi Regular - along with ITC Bauhaus, a font inspired by the famous Universal typeface, designed by Herbert Bayer in 1925.
See you for the 200th Bauhaus Anniversary or for the next Bauhaus Tour (long live Peter Murphy, Daniel Ash, David Jay and Kevin Haskins)
A premonition. We first dreamed of it and then we did it. A wonderful machine, a pocket labyrinth of mirrors that are born like fruits from a steel tree and that explode thousands of visions and memories. An infinite refraction of modular synths and electroacoustic instruments, amplified by arrhythmic mechanical strings.
21 is CONTROTEMPO.
Eternal love to and , Likeusual

"The mirror lets us look at what our eyes cannot otherwise see; the reflection is always a discovery, a vision of a reality that was previously invisible, unknown. It does not reflect one single truth or one single moment, but also an instant after, an instant before: pluralities, polyrhythms. We can anticipate or choose to slip into a slight, intentional delay: asynchronies, diachronies. No rule exists with which to reassemble the world, no certain final image. Only new perspectives, only new gazes. Countertime"
We had real fun conceiving a series of white-type on black-cardboard panels for Bardotto: a traditional bookshop in Turin, with a small design and photography section.
These are just our favourites from the series.
Bardotto is named after the hybrid generated by crossing a male horse with a female donkey: this explains the concept behind the first panel of the series.
A visit at the place will offer you the chance to meet the two siblings that run the bookshop and celebrate your feeling of being part of a cartoon.

Pongo is an evergreen. But we also like the other colors. Some wild hairy flowers for the next Primavera in Nantes.
Okay, so we start designing the new visual identity for Circolo del Design. We want to escape from the DigitalEverything and the TypoEverywhere around us.
We need more kaleidoscopes.
It is a perceptive space of mirrors, filters and refractions in infinite transformation, like the perennial mechanism of a colorful engine room, or a microcosm seen through the lenses of a microscope.
Noisy, crowded, cacophonous as colorful, hypnotic, magnetic. We want to evoke multiplicity on several layers: people, realities, disciplines, approaches, languages, visions.
Reverberating Alice Rawsthorn, we state “Design as a Multitude”. Even if it sounds indecent nowadays.
Once more in Nantes, last September.
Seasonal leaflets for CCN de Nantes, 2020.
This year's identity couldn't be just one dimensional, so we designed a new and specific visual for its digital platform XYZ, matching our first sketches with the playful environment later developed by B-Play agency. We see XYZ as an hybrid creature in between a TV channel and a video game console.
At Artissima they say “Suggesting the axes of a cartesian system, the name XYZ refers to the multi-dimensional and multi-media approach applied by the platform, designed to convey physical experience through virtual experience”
THIS IS TOMORROW / THIS IS YESTERDAY
These days were supposed to be the Turin art week, and the heyday of our third year of collaboration with its main fair. In another world THIS would be our 2020 visual identity trailer. It’s a long story that was already conceived in January, before the lockdown, and that later took the name of Frenetic Standstill / Stasi Frenetica. Think about how we perceived the aesthetic of digital scanning, before and after the pandemic. We still love this visual, but in a transformed world we look at it in a different way.
Eternal love to and
Artissima 2020: the new visual identity
In an atmosphere of apparent suspension, also in terms of time, natural and urban settings alternate, populated by presences and absences, apparitions and disappearances that suggest accelerations and sudden slowdowns. The coloured frames based on object detection and digital recognition techniques bear the names of persons and everyday actions, as in a continuing attempt at identification. What is happening? When did it happen? Who are Silvia, Marc, Adele? And, in its interpretation, how credible is the machine? Questions that require responses, and invite you to experience Artissima and the contemporary art that is its focus, as a space always ready for new exploration and discovery.
Number 2 of 2 of funny visuals we recently created for 's fifth birthday.
ESTERNO NOTTE, a partecipatory event with projections in various venues, plays with a very simple idea that fits perfectly this period.
The lettering is an ideal homage to our absolute hero Robert Browhjohn and his projections on body for the title sequences of 007 movies, 1963/1964. But the lettering itself is a hand-made custom font, Electric Circus, that comes from works designed by Brownjohn with Chermayeff and Geismar for their own use, 1959/19600 ca.
Thanks to the entire Ettore Ventura’s family
Q: Is it also possible to play MEMORY?

More than 50 subjects over 200 outputs, always hidden behind the veil, flirting with desire and censorship.
We selected a black, symbolic mask made up of a series of circular cut-outs that expose glimpses of the photographic layer, making the images be perceived at first glance, but never in a clearly legible way.
We do not only see this: in each image one of the holes reveals a written message... to be continued

Flat n. 3 goes 3D. Starting from the same wood typefaces we used in the previous editions, we flirt with the idea of repetition to create a letterscape environment, a sort of metaphorical book park, made by typoplatforms…and weird inhabitants.

The art week is starting and many things we designed are being uncovered.
One of the projects we had most pleasure to work on for is the exhibition “Abstract S*x: We don't have any clothes, only equipment”, from an idea of .bona, curated by e Guido Costa, in the spaces of the mithycal Boutique Jana, in via Maria Vittoria with as special project partner. By the way the legend says that for the Jana store in piazza Vittorio during the 90’s, our personal heroes Tomato were involved. We never discovered if it was real or not but thinking about them, we designed this emerging and flickering typography.
Live and Unreleased. Last sunday was at New York Art Book Fair presenting the book about Dieter Roth we designed for the 2018 edition. This is a invitation card we imagined in 2016 for the very first launch of FLAT in the same fair in NYC, and unfortunately never released. But we keep on lovin’ it.
