Every Thursday afternoon he would roll his 30 pieces of canvas, under his arm and head to our capital Kingston. There he would visit friends and Business owners, selling his many pieces of work. Today these pieces have become rare gems and are highly sought. Come see and find some of these at our gallery. 🇯🇲

Ken needed money URGENTLY and became Prolific in his works, churning out at least 30 pieces per week.

The year was 1979 and Ken Abendana Spencer was hell bent on constructing a Gallery Mansion out at Long Bay in Portland,Jamaica.

In honour of Jamaica’s 60th year of Independence we are happy to have showcased 60 pieces by the masters done in the 1960s in our recent exhibition “Brushes Of The Past: A Retrospective of Jamaican Art From The 1960s.”

We are happy to have celebrated and honoured these phenomenal Jamaicans. One such was Susan Alexander, pictured above, beside her piece “Coronation Market.”
