Hello Okinawa! The Emery Lanes pin decorating contest officially came to a close yesterday at 2200. We had a total of 37 pins turned in. They will be judged in 3 separate categories. 0-12, 13-17, and 18 & older. We had 21 entries in the 0-12, 4 entries in the 13-17, and 12 entries in the 18 & older. We will select one winner from each category and one overall winner. We will announce the winners on Friday the 22nd of December. Winners will be contacted directly by us. Thank you all for showcasing your wonderful artistic skills! Good luck all!

Okinawa is still in TCCOR 1R as of Aug. 6, 4:47p.m. The storm widened over the past hours. This expansion, coupled with the storm's relatively slow progress moving away from the island, is resulting in the extended period of heavy rains and winds that prevents us from going All Clear.

Due to weather conditions, Gate 2 is closed. Gates 1 and 3 remain open for Mission Essential personnel. If you are not required to go outside, please stay indoors.

18th Wing will continue to monitor the storm. The transition from 1R to All Clear will only occur once weather conditions are safe and recovery actions across Okinawa are complete. We will keep you updated with the most accurate information for your safety!
