[Upcoming Exhibition!]

この度、Takuro Someya Contemporary Artは10月15日（土）から、TSCAでは４年ぶりとなる⼤⼭エンリコイサムの個展「Epiphany」を開催いたします。

本展「Epiphany」では、構成の中核となる「Found Object」シリーズの最新作23点組《FFIGURATI #405 - #427》がメインスペースに並びます。
最新作のベースは、ムリーリョ、シャルダン、ジョットといった⻄洋美術史上の芸術家の作品イメージが刷られた版画で、英国オックスフォードの古道具屋で⼿にしたそれらに、⼤⼭は、QTS を差し込むことで対話を試みています。

そして、TSCAは本展覧会より展示スペースを拡張いたします。
新たなスペースで展示されるアンストレッチドキャンバスの5点組作品《FFIGURATI #92 - #96》は、2014年にニューヨークで制作・公開され、今回が日本初公開となります。

⼤⼭エンリコイサムの代表的な作品シリーズを、深化したコンセプトのもとで紹介する本展にぜひご期待ください。

[Upcoming Exhibition!]

Takuro Someya Contemporary Art is pleased to present Epiphany, an exhibition by Enrico Isamu Oyama. This is the artist’s first solo exhibition at the gallery in four years.

Epiphany centers on 23 new works from the artist’s Found Object series, FFIGURATI #405 - #427, which will be installed in the main gallery space.
The base of these new works are prints of paintings by masters of the Western artistic tradition such as Murillo, Chardin, and Giotto, found at an antique store in Oxford, UK. By introducing QTS into these prints, Oyama attempts to enter into a dialogue with this history.

This exhibition also marks the opening of TSCA’s newly expanded exhibition space.
The new space will contain a group of five unstretched canvases, FFIGURATI #92-96, made and exhibited in New York in 2014, now being shown in Japan for the first time.

We look forward to sharing with you this exhibition, which brings Oyama’s representative series to a new conceptual depth.

この度、Takuro Someya Contemporary Artは9月4日（土）より、細倉真弓の個展「Sen to Me」を開催いたします。

本展覧会は、今年4月にTSCAで開催された映像の展覧会「ジギタリス、あるいは一人称のカメラ｜石原海、遠藤麻衣子、長谷川億名、細倉真弓」を企画した細倉の、TSCAでは初めての個展となります。
映像作品「digitalis」シリーズに加え、フォトグラムに機械刺繍を施した新しいシリーズ「Sen to Te」を発表いたします。

細倉真弓　Mayumi Hosokura
東京/京都在住。
触覚的な視覚を軸に、身体や性、人と人工物、有機物と無機物など、移り変わっていく境界線を写真と映像で扱う。
立命館大学文学部、及び日本大学芸術学部写真学科卒業。
主な個展に「NEW SKIN ｜あたらしい肌」（2019年、mumei、東京）、「Jubilee」（2017年、nomad nomad、香港）、「Cyalium」（2016年、G/P gallery、東京）、「クリスタル ラブ スターライト」（2014年、G/P gallery、東京）、「Transparency is the new mystery」（2012年、関渡美術館2F展示室、台北）など。

Takuro Someya Contemporary Art is pleased to announce Mayumi Hosokura’s upcoming solo exhibition The Eye Draws, opening on Saturday, September 4th.

This is Hosokura’s first solo exhibition at TSCA and follows the group exhibition Digitalis or the First-Person Camera, organized by Hosokura and held in April of this year. In The Eye Draws, Hosokura presents “digitalis,” a series of video works first shown in Digitalis or the First-Person Camera, as well as “Sen to Te,” a new series of photograms with machine embroidery.

Mayumi Hosokura
Lives in Tokyo and Kyoto.
Mayumi Hosokura’s haptically visual photography and video works address the shifting boundaries between body and sexuality, human and artificial, and organic and inorganic materials. She studied literature at the University of Ritsumeikan and photography at the Nihon University College of Art.
Major solo exhibitions include NEW SKIN, Mumei, Tokyo (2019), Jubilee, nomad nomad, Hong Kong (2017), Cyalium, G/P gallery, Tokyo (2016), CRYSTAL LOVE STARLIGHT, G/P gallery, Tokyo (2014), and Transparency is the new mystery, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei (2012).

Takuro Someya Contemporary Artは7月17日（土）より、ラファエル・ローゼンダールの個展「Calm」を開催いたします。

ローゼンダールは2010年の個展「I’m Good」以来、10年以上にわたり、TSCAでの個展やグループショーを重ねてきました。国内での展覧会では、2018年の十和田市現代美術館での「GENEROSITY 寛容さの美学」から3年ぶりの個展となります。

これまでにローゼンダールは、ウェブサイトやGoogle Chromeのプラグイン、NFT等の形式を自らのキャンバスとして開拓し、そこで描いたイメージをタペストリーやレンチキュラー等の技術を用いて現実世界の絵画作品として成立させています。この手法はインターネットアートやコンピューターアートといったジャンルに留まらず、同時代を反映する芸術作品として、日々わたしたちが往来するインターネット上の仮想空間とアクチュアルな物理空間の境界に意識を向けさせています。このように、インターネットアートムーブメントにおいて登場したアーティストでありながら、絵画史におけるメディウムの再解釈という観点からも重要かつユニークな実践を続けてきました。

本展覧会「Calm」は、描画七宝（ペイント・エナメル）の技法を用いた「Mechanical Painting」とプレキシガラス作品「Extra Nervous」の２つのシリーズで構成されます。

Takuro Someya Contemporary Art is pleased to announce Rafaël Rozendaal’s upcoming solo exhibition “Calm,” opening on Saturday, July 17th.

Over the past ten years since his first solo show at TSCA, “I’m Good” (2010), Rozendaal has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions at the gallery. “Calm” will be his first solo exhibition in Japan in three years, following “GENEROSITY” at Towada Art Center (Aomori Prefecture) in 2018.

Rozendaal uses websites, Google Chrome plug-ins, and most recently, NFTs as his canvas, then materializes these images as paintings in the physical world using techniques such as weaving and lenticular printing. Going through and beyond the genre of internet art, his mode of artmaking is reflective of our times, bringing awareness to our daily movement between virtual space online and the physical world. In this way, though emerging from within the internet art movement, Rozendaal also holds a unique and critical position within painting’s history of reinterpreted mediums.

In “Calm”, Rozendaal presents two series of works being shown in Japan for the first time: “Mechanical Painting,” which employs the technique of enamel on steel, and “Extra Nervous,” a series of plexiglass mirror compositions.
