Hii leo tunapo sherehekea day, Gavana wangu Gideon Maitha Mung'aro amezindua mradi wa kusambaza maji katika eneo la Mnyenzeni kwenye wodi yangu ya Kayafungo eneo bunge la Kaloleni.

Mradi huu ni wa kwanza tangu serikali za ugatuzi kuanzishwa kupitia katiba mpya ya mwaka 2010 na unapania kunufaisha wakaazi zaidi ya 2000 ambao wamekua wakitaabika kutokana na ukosefu wa maji Kayafungo.

Mabomba ya kusambaza maji yameanzia eneo la Danview hadi Tsangatsini.

Katika uzinduzi huo Gavana alikua ameandamana na mawaziri wa serikali yake pamoja na wajumbe mbali mbali kutoka kaunti ya Kilifi.

Leo nitakua pale Lulu FM 97.1FM Malindi nikiwa naye Binti Umazi nikichambua maswala Maendeleo kwa Wanawake na akina mama (women empowerment)

Nilipata nafasi ya kuhudumu katika kanisa la Gogoraruhe katika eneo langu la Kayafungo Ward.

Nilipata nafasi ya kujiunga na viongozi wengine wikendi hii katika mechi zinazoendelea za Governor's Cup ambazo kwa sasa zinaelekea kileleni.

Washindi wote kutoka kwa Ward Level, Sub County Level na hata yule mshindi wa County Level atapata tuzo ikiwemo vikombe (🏆) na pesa.

I was honoured to be the Chief Guest at the just concluded scouts and girl guides competition at Minyenzeni Primary School in my Ward Kayafungo, Kaloleni Constituency

This competition brought together over 200 students from Kaloleni and was aimed at instilling discipline, teamwork and socialization among the pupils.

As the chief guest, I called upon the learners to put more effort into their studies for the betterment of their future.

Among the leaders that were present during the three days event was the area Sub County Scout Commissioner Madam Agness Namema.

In my meeting at Tsangatsini Location today, I engaged local leaders in a discussion on matters security, education and other important issues of development.

In attendance was the area Chief Tsangatsini Location Madam Emilina, Sub Chief Mr. Thuva together with all Head teachers from primary and secondary schools and their counterpart from the Vocational Training Centers.

We discussed modalities on how to fight cases of insecurities, how to improve school performance as well as putting up a good environment for learners in school.

I also emphasized on parents to enroll their children in the vocational training centers to equip themselves with the skills and knowledge necessary for their needs in terms of employment.

This is during a bursary issuance to High School and University students who are reporting back to school for the 2024 Academic year.

I call on parents to closely monitor their children's performance and also interact with teachers, be updated with their children's progress as well as urge the students to maintain a high level of discipline in school.

On behalf of my office, Kayafungo Ward, I wished the students all the best in school.

I held a consultative meeting with parents whose children performed magnificent and were admitted to various National Schools in Kenya.

We have students from Kayafungo Ward, going to Kisumu Girls School, Nyamira High School, Bahari Girls High School, Ribe Boys, Mpeketoni High School, Matuga Girls among other National Schools.

I had an opportunity to congratulate them for their excellent performance. I also asked them to maintain discipline to the various schools that they had been admitted.

As the area MCA Kayafungo and in collaboration with the Governor H. E Gideon Mung'aro, I have pledged to support the students through the allocation of the Ward Scholarship Fund so that no student can miss the opportunity to join their selected school of choice.

I also welcome any other partners and well wishes to come forth and join hands in supporting these students in their journey to success in education.

The parents were accompanied by their children.

As the Chairperson County Assembly Committee on Gender, Culture Sports and Social Services I was honored to sit on a roundtable with other stakeholders to plan for the forthcoming celebration of the International Day for Persons living with Disabilities (IDPD).

The IDPD is an event aimed at promoting the rights and awareness the persons living with disabilities (PWDs) and is an annual event being celebrated on 3rd December.

This year’s event in Kilifi County will be celebrated on 4th December 2023 in Malindi at Buntwani Waterfront with the THEME; “United in Action to rescue and Achieve the SDGs for, with and by persons with disabilities”

With my people in Kayafungo Ward, we have planted as many trees as possible.

Taking advantage of the rains and distributed seeds at Mbalamweni area in my Ward Kayafungo, Kaloleni . We're determined to fight hunger this season as we put more effort in growing enough food.

Today, in collaboration with Community Based Organizations -the Coast Education Center, the Search for Common Grounds, the GBV network Kilifi and the Judiciary -Malindi, we held a sensitization forum on matters of Gender Based Violence with the people of my Ward in Kayafungo.

Today, we held our public participation exercise in Kilifi South Sub County for the GBV policy and the Gender and Development Policy.

I am optimistic that the views aired by the people of Kilifi South will be accommodated in the policies so as to prevent cases of GBV within Kilifi county.

Tomorrow, we'll be in Kibarani Ward in Kilifi North Sub County for another Baraza engaging with the community.

Today as accompanied by my Committee Members on Gender and Sports were in Rabai Sub County for a second day of a Public Participation exercise on the GBV policy and the Gender and Development Bill 2023 which is be4 the committee for its scrutiny.
We are still taking views from wananchi .
As the Chairperson all contributions made will be considered during the report writing.

I today led the honorable members of my Committee on Gender, Culture, Sports and Social Services on a public participation exercise towards the Gender Based Violence Policy and the Gender and Development Policy in Kaloleni Social Hall, Kaloleni Sub County.

As the Chairperson of the County Assembly Committee on Gender, we're making sure that every person in Kilifi gets to understand the policies that are aiming at elimination of GBV as well as setting out measures necessary to address the gaps in realization of gender equality among the community.

We also took time to engage the public and other stakeholders taking views and proposals that when included on the Bills will address critical issues among vulnerable and other special interest groups.

The policies will also fast track measures of raising public awareness and enhance service providers capabilities to support survivors as well as prevention of the GBV activities in Kilifi county .

As the Chairperson Sports and Culture -Kilifi County Assembly, I and my committee members together with the Deputy Governor and the CECM Gender and Sports today we held a consultative meeting to plan for the long awaited Governor's Cup that is to be launched soon.
The nit grit about the super cup were discussed by the members.

In my efforts to promoting talent among the Youth in my Ward Kayafungo, Kaloleni Constituency, I hosted a friendly football match between Tsangastini Combined FC and Omax FC from Mombasa.
The friendly which was held at Tsangastini ground on Sunday saw Omax FC score 3 goals against Tsangastini Combined FC 0.
The football match was sponsored by our friends from Mombasa the Heaven Angles.

I have today met the Kilifi County Chief Officer in charge of Youth, Talent and sports Mr. Nafthali Owino and our talented girl and famous TikTok queen Miss Ruby Kache in preparation of the International Youth Day Celebration to be held on Friday, 11th August 2023.

Our discussion revolved around talent development in Kilifi and as the Chairperson of the County Assembly Committee on Gender, Sports, Youth Culture and social services I will ensure that we pass as many policies and legislations that will guide the promotion of art work, sports and culture that is quite beneficial to youth both socially and economically.

Kache will however collaborate with the department of Youth to foster empowerment of talented on youth who are ready to take art to the next level.

With the Committee on Public Investments and Accounts chaired by Hon. Thaura Mweni at the county assembly conference hall interrogating the CECM Finance and Economic Planning on matters Auditor General's report as submitted to the committee.

Some of the reports that we looked into during the committee meeting are;
The Auditor General's Report of Kilifi County Executive for the Financial Year 2020/2021,
The Auditor General's Report of Kilifi Emergency Fund for the FY 2019/2020 and
The Auditor General's Report of Kilifi Emergency Fund for the FY 2020/2021.
