MY THOUGHTS
Today, President Tshisekedi of is being sworn into office for his second term.
Notably, There has been an interesting increase in the number of presidents attending this Swearing in ceremony today , in comparison to His first Swearing in Ceremony in 2019. Kenya's former president,Uhuru Kenyatta, was the only present president in his 2019 swearing in ceremony in
Today, Kenya is represented by two of her presidents( former and current), making our presence in this Ceremony very conspicuous!
But what has Tshisekedi done for the last 5 years that is so unique,to attract this level of attention? Is He such a Good leader?
Is it Plain coincidence that all the attending 19+ heads of State and International Dignitaries, are overlooking that this elections were actually rigged? Do they overlook that Democracy in was actually abhorred in the recent elections?
I have reason to believe that majority of the attending Presidents and International Dignitaries are in some way, intending to benefit from 's Presidency, especially at a personal Level. Some are there to reaffirm their commitment to Tshisekedi's Corrupt leadership, as they directly benefit from the Minerals mined in .
The G to G Deal was a Very brilliant Idea But it could not be sustained in An excessively taxed Fuel system.
According to the deal,Kenya was to receive fuel from the Saudi Government and Contracted companies with a Payment grace period. This grace period was intended to ease the pressure that was building up on the kenyan government, due to the unavailability of the Dollar currency in the Kenyan market.
Normally,The Open Tendering System that has been in use for years in Kenya, Required that the Government Pays the Petroleum Supplying companies, under very strict conditions. Some of the conditions included Making payments In Dollars, withing a very short time ( Sometimes upto 5 days) after receiving the Petroleum products. This System did not favour the Kenyan Government due to the Unavailability of Dollars in the Kenyan Market! It was too much pressure! The Government resolved to go for the G-G deal.
However, To sustain this new deal,The government had to Guarantee the constant demand for fuel. This means that the government needed to ensure the consumption of the fuel products did not change as it would trigger losses for the New Graceful suppliers.
The Government however, was not able to Guarantee this! Instead, Due to the overtaxation of Fuel, and Constant increase in the global fuel prices ,The demand for petroleum products went down! The G to G deal could therefore not be sustained!
This Deal was also a temporary solution. For how long Did the government envision to sustain the Unavailability of the dollar? Globally ,the dollar was,and still is in high demand.Fuel was not the only product trading with the dollar currency. There was need to think strategically of how the Government would sustain the Dollar demand in Kenya.
There is very high likelihood the Kenyan shilling will Weaken further against the dollar in the coming months. with Kenya going back to the OTS,The government will need to dig deeper to ensure we get a constant supply of fuel in Kenya. Another probable risk is the increase in fuel prices as the world experiences a General Decline in the prices of petroleum products.
Is Kalonzo Ripe for Presidency?
A few years back,my friend was working in an organization as a Intern in one of the Departments of the Organization. The experience was " good " from an intern's perspective since it was his first " Job".
However, After some few months,He felt That whatever he was offering to the Organisation,Was to a standard that " Should be paid for." He was Good at his work, and so he deserved something better for himself. He negotiated and got a consultancy contract that lasted for quite a while.
But what happens when you do what you are Continuously good at ,and you Are experiencing no career Growth? You see no progression whatsoever and You definitely see no future in your station of work? You definitely Outgrow yourself and leave such a space! He Quit the job after sometime, and He is now thriving in his business/ career, from the bold step He took.
Kalonzo is ripe for presidency. When you see him making such bold statements as those in the video below ,a blend of his career and Political experience Provide him with Needed experience to lead the country! The conversation with Kalonzo on Spice FM displays a clear understanding of our political, diplomatic and Governance Terrain in Kenya.
Maybe should be allowed to Walk and talk indipendently for the next three years without The cover of "Azimio".He should be allowed to get preyed on by bloggers and social media brigade,The UDA supporters, the Mt Kenya polotocians fighting Gachagua, Etc. A little walk on the streets will toughen Kalonzo up for the 2027 elections!
You are wrong!
Since Elections , Mt Kenya leaders were silent about Gachagua despite him,in many instances, speaking or acting in a manner that is impulsive. All over sudden, they have started mobilising their ground against him and firing up Ndindi Nyoro for Deputy president in 2027.
When I looked at this video, I now definitely know why they are doing so. Gachagua needs to wake up from his misery! He should stop embarassing himself with his bitterness! Why would you go after Justice Maina if your corruption cases were politically influenced? Why do you dwell so much on the past and what was and was not done to you during Uhuru's Tenure?
If you think what you are doing is right,It is not! When you go to war with the Judiciary, you expose the Executive to criticism for influencing the indipendence of Judiciary. You also validate your bosses wrath against the Judiciary instead of covering it up wisely! You took back your 100 Million immediately you were elected. You going after Justice Maina is uncalled for and looks revengful!A revengeful leader should Never be trusted!
You were elected as the Deputy president! Act like one! Stop being too emotional about everything, especially your past! You are acting so insecure yet you have the power to act silently and progressively!
Rest in Peace liz wanyoike! You hve been an inspiration to many in your Journey of impacting the society through eduction. Go well Mum!
Rest in Peace.
The unprofessionalism in this government is too much.We have normalised Unprofessional behavior to an extent that we openly display it without thinking twice of its consequences.
Why should the Ministry of Education - Kenya announce that are not readily accessible to the candidates who did the exams? Why should they go ahead and present an Ssd that is minting money from already broke citizens,(25ksh per sms is exhobitant for a non-functional system). The Knec website is Also jammed, giving error codes to whoever who wants to access the results through it.Why should the minister and his people be this incompetent and unprepared for such an important National activity?
The other day we heard the president confesing thay there will be no El-nino yet most areas that have a tendency of flooding, are already flooded and this rains show no sign of stopping any time soon.
The Deputy president Openly declared that the government would cushion Counties with an El-nino preparedness Fund. Weeks later,He publicly disregards the intention to fund The preparedness and asks counties to use their emergency funds to salvage their problems.
This are just some of the many instances the government is displaying unprofessionalism in its delivery of services to the citizens. It is costly to the taxpayers and it is causing unnecessary tension to the citizenry. This government must sober up!

The Conversation on Haiti was never a public participation opportunity.Whether we like it or not,the mission Is to take place anyway. There being no law Banning or permitting this to happen, the deployment of Kenyan police officers to Haiti is a Diplomatic Quagmire that Has the side with the Greatest Financial, human and Political resource,Winning. In this case, the Kenyan government,UN, and other partners.
In Kenya ,A precedent has been set, that as long as the sitting government has the majority in parliament,Its agendas MUST pass the parliamentary litmus test. The Jubilee government Counted on this tactic several times, and it worked to their benefit, despite the many times that government was accused of breaching the constitution.
This Kenya Kwanza government has adopted the same tactic, and further learnt how to manipulate the Judiciary in their favour. Its a dangerous path we are tredding on.Story for another day!
Anyway,I digress. We wish the anticipated Police mission all the best!
In my view,It is a good diplomatic placing.Maybe the Communication was not properly done to the Kenyan citizenry, Or maybe this matter should not have been a public affair, but the truth is,there was a misunderstanding among the Kenyan majority on this matter. It is important that we as Kenya,be placed on the Global history books.
The Kenya kwanza Government is becoming uncontrollably Irresponsible by day.The most recent Charges introduced by Kithure Kindiki on Identity cards, Passport costs as well as visa Application and other government offered services, is completely unnecessary and Fairly Inconsiderate.
This conversation, especially on Charging New and replaced Identity cards, violates The principals of Inclusivity and Further intruging the The UN Human Rights Universal Declaration of 1948, that states that every person has a right to a Nationality. How do you claim this right while basic proof of it is suddenly Extremely expensive to achieve?
Currently, the ID issuance process is cumbered by a Very Complicated and Citizen Unfriendly system, right from the Registrar of persons offices where officers demand for bribes from non-registered citizens, for them to get their Identity cards.Adding costs to this Process,( Exaggerated Costs for that matter) will not only make this process impossible, but also make it a privilege for the few who can afford it.
Further,How do you expect to support vote registration processes by the IEBC while getting a simple Identity card is now a dream for the Poor and marginalized communities? Form 4 leavers will now have to choose between Saving for the Extremely expensive Higher education and Saving for an Identity card to prove their citizenship in a country they were born .Surely this is a man eat man society!
This government has Totally lost touch with the hustlers they swore to protect. From Fuel prices to High food prices to now Charging Issuance of ID cards, there is a clear indication that the saviour is out to devour his People. The hearts of the people have turned to stone!
Dear William Samoei Ruto ,You made us feel hopeful while we elected you.Now we feel like you are one of the worst mistakes we have made in our lives. We feel cheated and betrayed by your Luck of empathy towards an already overburdened Citizen. People might forget what you do to them, but never forget how you made them feel. The mountain will shift!
From a concerned Citizen!
The current government needs a realignment. In as much as William Samoei Ruto is rewarding his Campaign Moguls,He needs to insist the need for Proffessionalsm and Ethics in the appointed team.
His reaction yesterday was totally called for.He castigated them plainly in the public and that is a very vital step in restoring sanity in his Team.
I look foward to Several reshuffles in the Cabinet,as he embarks to restoring Sanity in the Cabinet.
I once Wrote an article of how much of a shame Boniface Mwangi Is to this Country. His Self proclaimed Advocacy is selfish, baseless and Careless.
His comment today is about to Burn the nation! He Should be arrested and Charged for incitement...In as much as The happenings of today were entirely Uncalled for whether in Mathare or In Northlands ...we should never allow anyone to pull out the tribal card on Us!Never again should we relive 2007!
The planned Mass action demos are aimed at attracting International pressure Towards Ruto's Gvt in a bid to negotiate for a handshake or Anything relative to that.
However,This might not work for Raila Odinga and Co.Instead,It will attract International and local attention of how much stubborn he is and how his Uncouth and Uncivilized ways of seeking power always end up distabilising the country. This, might and Will attract Sanctions against Him.
The Demos and Riots might or might not last for long.My advice to Raila is for him to take the back seat and Utilise his rather strong soldiers to champion for his agendas. He shoul and must not Look like the leader of a riot, and rather should look like an opinion of the masses!
Utilise the Wreckless Junet,The Cunning Joho The Coward Kioni ,The Undecided Kalonzo Musyoka and the bitter Martha Karua to further your Agenda! This ones, have nothing to loose.

Valuable Lessons school will never teach you...
Just after I posted about Somali values that make them thrive, I read a Tweet from Benji Ndolo about a son of a prominent Kenyan who inherited more than 300m from the father and is right now about to be homeless...
I just reflected on the tragedy of African parents....though other people also make the same mistake.
Right now, I'm in hot soup, after trusting the son of a prominent Kenyan. I guaranteed something knowing that he would do the right thing... But he did not. I even once contemplated asking for public support..
I've gone through hell for the past five months, but I know I will overcome...
Many others have gone through proper character development in the hands of these children of rich men......
One of the biggest blunders African parents make is that of keeping their children from the struggle, as they create wealth. They only allow their children to see the rosy side of life, without knowing the real story of the creation of wealth...
They grow up thinking that it is all easy, just like their parents shielded them from the process..
The result is complete collapse should the original creator get off the scene..
I grew up in Parklands and saw the impact of the two types of parenting....
We lived in the same neighborhood with all the big names in the country from the Indian community, went to the same schools and basically walked with them. 40 years later, you see the Indians we were with in the same class being featured in the billionaire list, while the Africans are nowhere....
Whereas the Indians ensured that the children participated in every aspect of life, right from cleaning, washing and generally kazi zote, African parents could not hear of their children doing some basic things. They had several housemaids and gardeners.. The children were called "Baba and mama".. Indians insisted on having their children follow them to work during the weekend Those who had businesses ensured that the children were there do help... Those who worked in offices ensured that the children saw where the money came from.....
And that made the difference..
Just like being in a maternity hospital makes you appreciate and respect women, if you see the process of making wealth, you will respect and grow it....
But just like men, who just wait at home, and see the smiling cute kids, but have never walked through the corridors of maternity hospitals take things for granted , some things are best seen or heard.
Parents who shield their children from the production process, and only show them the fruits are to blame....
If you go with your children to the bank manager office and they see you humble and begging for the loan, they will appreciate that things are not easy.. If they see you struggling to connect a deal and begging for time, they will fully appreciate that creating wealth is not easy......
But the moment mwafrika ame fanikiwa, the first thing they do is to send children sijui to UK, US and Australia.., They only see millions reflecting in the account, and spend on good life...
Well, it's not just mwafrika that does the mistake.. Even a few Wahindi make the same blunder...
Some time in 2004, the founder of the one of the top Bus companies became close to me as I did an investigative story on how he was about to lose his fortune... I remember him weeping once when we met in Serena... He fought gallantly and through the help of the media, he got his company back. Unfortunately, at that time his son was abroad and his wife was in South Africa.... And were not involved in the struggle.. Right now, when I see how the once mighty bus company has fallen, I feel sad....
So, the principle is the same irregardless of your race and background.......
Teach your children how to fish, and not just give them fish.....

Watching William Ruto preciding over today's Jamuhuri Day Celebrations,Inspires a New Phase of Leadership...It might not be common to many, and it might Not look like it has so great impact to the common mwananchi, but one thing for sure,we need this!
I however do not totally agree with this form of leadership as it is a high risk form of leadership....This is a conversation we will have another day..
Now,Being a good scholar in the Communications space,I am amazed and at what William Ruto's Communictions team is doing. One thing that failed Uhuru's last five years,Is luck of consistent communication with the public,of what he is doing for the people of Kenya.
The Communications Team is doing a commendable job in constantly updating the public of what William Ruto is doing in his gvt.If they continue putting out this information to the public consistently,They will have something to presebt to the people in 2027!
Happy Jamuhuri Day!
KALONZO SHOULD LEAD THE OPPOSITION
If Kalonzo is serious about ever becoming president, he should seize this moment and become the leader of the opposition. There is a saying that power is taken not given.
The kind of things Raila is saying about the recently concluded election and the judiciary wouldn't help the opposition's cause at all. They are actually going to alienate them further from their supporters.
The country is going through one of the worst economic crises ever. Instead of seizing the moment and address the suffering of the masses, the opposition is still talking about the election.
The country needs an opposition leader who can articulate the concerns of the citizens and push the government to do the right thing. Anyone who wants to have a chance against KK in 2027 should start their journey today.
By providing robust opposition to KK and demonstrating alternative and better understanding of issues one is better off than trying to associate with the regime. Whoever seizes this moment will stand a good chance in five years time.

Why Azimio lost the presidency.
“Learning from your mistakes does not happen automatically, it requires thinking and reflection.”
― Oscar Auliq-Ice
Upon reflection on why Rt. Honourable Raila Odinga and Honourable Martha Karua lost the presidential election, I have decided to share a few thoughts about what went wrong based on my close engagement with their campaign teams.
I supported Azimio because it was a chance to elect leaders whose ideals resonated quite well with my own. I voted for Martha Karua in 2013 and for Raila Odinga in 2017. In my view, their coming together in the 2022 elections was a double blessing. They were good candidates: certainly not angels but their steady track records as brave patriots who have consistently fought and worked for a better Kenya since the 1990s spoke volumes. They represented hope for real change led by liberators, promising to wage war against corruption and to clean up Kenyan politics by condemning all the rogue elements to the dustbin of history.
Martha Karua has been a consistent supporter of my activism. She is also a dear friend, and she has on numerous occasions stepped in as my lawyer when the situation called for it.
In 2016 when Deputy President Ruto sued me for defamation, Senior Counsel Martha Karua was part of my defense team. Thanks to her diligence and dedication together with the legal team, we won the case. In October 2017, as I was leading a protest against the police for the killing of an unarmed Raila Odinga supporter, I was shot in the chest by a tear-gas canister. By 2019, the wound had developed a growth that needed surgery. After the surgery my medical insurer refused to pay. It was Martha who pursued the matter until they eventually settled the bill.
Last year, when my family home in Lukenya was bombed and the suspect wanted me jailed for exposing him to the world, Martha went so far as to accompany my wife and I to meet with DCI Director George Kinoti to present our evidence.
Once again, without hesitation, she stepped in to represent me in court. The matter is still ongoing. These are just a few examples of how Martha has consistently shown up for me. How could I possibly not show up for her during her historic bid?
I need to state from the onset that I was not an employee but a volunteer at the campaign secretariat. My belief in their candidature led me to rally behind the cause.
August 9th rolled in and we voted and waited. On 15th August 2022 the president-elect was declared. This win was challenged in the Supreme Court and we followed the proceedings earnestly. On 5th September 2022, Ruto’s win was upheld.
Meanwhile, within the Azimio fraternity, accusations were traded, blame apportioned. Many were said to have slept on the job and some were cast as traitors.
As the blame game continues and as the controversies surrounding 50% +1, Forms 34A, party agents, and the Supreme Court ruling persist, I would like to go on record stating that Azimio's overconfidence and grossly underestimating our opponent cost us the presidential election.
We assumed the victory was ours because President Uhuru Kenyatta endorsed and actively campaigned for Raila and Martha. We failed to do the hard work of strategizing, organizing, and mobilizing our base to come out and vote, especially in our strongholds. We failed to protect our agents from the temptation of easy bribes from our opponents. We allowed them to be compromised at the polling stations. We also failed to protect our votes because we had too much faith that the IEBC would conduct a credible, free and fair election.
Many Azimio supporters, including myself, questioned whether we could trust President Uhuru Kenyatta and his people. The Azimio secretariat on the other hand, saw him as an asset, not a liability. My view was that if Uhuru could betray Ruto, he could do the same to Raila. I vividly recall that every time Uhuru spoke on behalf of the party, we suffered. It should be known that Uhuru did not pick Martha Karua to be Raila’s running mate although this is the impression he gave in his utterances leading her to be branded a “project”. It was, in fact, Raila who campaigned hard for Azimio to pick Martha as his running mate. Many will recall that her candidature was well received within the country and across the borders. It was a breath of fresh air and Kenya was well on its way to having its first female Deputy President not as a token DP but one with an undeniable and solid track record.
Uhuru did not have to go on Gikuyu media stations to lecture and instruct listeners about who to vote for. Had he forgotten that we had endured ten years of hardship, slavery, and looting by the same regime led by him and his deputy, Ruto?
Because of Uhuru’s incessant and ill-advised utterances, Raila and Martha struggled to shake off the “projects” tag. Far from being "state projects", Raila and Martha's reformist credentials needed no emphasis. Unfortunately, Uhuru was the chairman of Azimio, a position that I stated publicly that he should resign from. His presence in Azimio made Kenyans believe Raila and Martha would be a continuation of Uhuru’s presidency. Uhuru ended up sabotaging what would otherwise have been a very robust campaign.
I supported Azimio because they made it very clear that their administration would promote the rule of law and ensure there would be no sacred cows in the war against corruption.
Raila and Martha had a good manifesto, which our team failed to sell effectively. The secretariat ignored feedback on how to make the campaign resonate with Kenyans including: withdrawing old men, and people facing criminal charges from our rallies and getting more youthful voices on the campaign stage, and having local leadership at the center stage instead of having one man run the show at all rallies. Politics is local. Azimio failed to organize locally. We would do rallies and exit immediately with the team we came with. No one remained behind to ensure the message on the ground had taken root.
We failed because we weren't well organized. Our team appointed people for their loyalty instead of their professional skills. We trusted incompetent and dishonest people with huge and sensitive responsibilities. We failed to appreciate the goodwill that was offered by many people and failed to bring in expert volunteers. Many of those tasked with huge responsibilities were criminally lazy and failed to match the expectations that we had of them.
The few technocrats in the secretariat were incapacitated due to their fear of speaking the truth lest they fall out of favor with the powers that be. Good ideas didn't see the light of the day. The best ideas were shelved in favor of those tabled by a few people who were out of touch with reality.
Honest feedback was taken as negative criticism and those who offered were ostracised or seen as possible moles while those out-of-touch with realities were the ones whose ideas that were carried.
Teams were made of loyalists and sycophants, not of people who could deliver on the expectation of an overwhelming electoral win. Very few volunteers were deployed at the Bomas tallying centre. We gave Bomas access badges to incompetent sycophants, politicians, and cronies who were there not to guard the vote but to heckle, disrupt, and take selfies to show that they were at the tallying centre.
The events that took place at Bomas were nothing short of a tragic comedy of Azimio’s own making.
Hon. Raila and Hon Martha were let down by the secretariat together with President Uhuru who seconded clueless advisors to the Azimio secretariat, and those men gave terrible advice. They misled them into believing everything was under control and they had a handle on everything when they didn't. There were too many centres of power where very bad advice was given. None of these people who failed to deliver have been held accountable. Azimio's failure to hire a professional campaign team, giving them clear job descriptions and clear deliverables cost us dearly.
I'm still baffled at the events that followed the elections. After the Election Day, and while with Martha, we received a phone call (while vote tallying was still ongoing) letting us know we had won. The person who called us is very prominent in Kenya. Throughout the entire week, even as Kenya Kwanza shared their numbers, Raila and Martha were given numbers from Azimio’s secretariat that assured them they had won. I couldn't imagine that lies would come from a secretariat where the chairman of the coalition was the sitting President of Kenya. My very boisterous posts were based on these assurances.
When Martha went to KICC to meet Azimio leaders and said we had won, she was basing her statement on the figures and numbers she was given by the Azimio secretariat. After the Bomas fiasco, came the court case. We were presented with evidence by the same respected Kenyans in our team– evidence of how we had won. Once again, I was vocal about how we had won. I believed the said evidence. Martha also believed them. Everything I posted was based on the information that was availed to us. Looking back, it is now obvious that we were fed with misleading information, up until the very last minute. The question arises: was this a long con?
Azimio had too many self-important people doing zero work; sycophants, the presidential candidate’s family, and incompetent people in critical roles. They behaved as if we had won and failed to carry out their assigned roles diligently. They trashed feedback, ignored messages, and never returned calls. The Kenya Kwanza team capitalized on our hubris, organized better, worked harder, and got the controversial win.
My heart hurts for Hon. Raila Odinga. He was betrayed in 2007, 2013, and 2017 by people whom he never dealt with or punished. It’s also a lesson to all of us, to punish laziness, incompetence, and betrayal.
There is still some hope, though. The Azimio Coalition has a majority in the legislature. Azimio must hold President Ruto’s government to account. The registrar of political parties must come out strongly to rein in political impunity. Politicians elected under Azimio are now defecting. This is unlawful. Ideally, all those elected under the Azimio coalition in breach of the Azimio Coalition should be subjected to a by-election. They should resign, and run on a Kenya Kwanza ticket. These last-minute decamping is deceitful and a betrayal to the people who elected them. The opposition leaders will need to work together and focus on the mandate the voters gave them and be very disciplined to deliver to the voters’ expectations. Azimio has control in 23 counties. We want to see a difference in governance in their counties.
Raila Odinga is a statesman with vast experience that many can learn from. He can set up the Raila Odinga Leadership Centre to train and prepare the next generation of leaders that can transform Kenya. He remains an inspiration to Kenya, the region, and the continent. A beacon of hope for many. He can now inspire a new generation of active citizens to understand leadership isn’t an entitlement; it is a call of duty and service to your country. These citizens will hold all duty bearers to account and demand transparency, and integrity from their leaders.
6.9 million Kenyans voted for Raila. They’re hurting and they need direction. Some 8 million Kenyans, mostly young people, did not vote in this election. That's more than those who voted for either Raila or Ruto. If galvanized, this could be the “Third Force”. I look forward to being part of this movement, the one that will hold Ruto’s government accountable for every campaign promise he made.
To those who are disappointed that l supported Raila and Martha, I would like to remind them that Kenya is a multiparty democracy, Article 4(2) declares that the Republic of Kenya is a multi-party democratic state founded on the national values and principles of governance, meaning I have a constitutional right to support a party different from yours. I make no apologies for supporting Azimio. It is my democratic and constitutional right. You should respect my choice, just the same way that I respect yours.
The perception that supporters of Azimio are
deemed enemies of the state are unfounded, misinformed, and dangerous. President Ruto is the president of the Republic of Kenya, not Kenya Kwanza. This means he has a responsibility to all Kenyans including those who didn’t vote for him. Kenya belongs to all of us and we all have a responsibility to Kenyans to do our best for the nation to thrive. This remains my firm commitment to my country and one that you can hold me to.
