Roan Antelopes are social animals and live in herds of about 5-15 and are typically led by a dominant male. They use a variety of vocalizations and body language to communicate with each other and can run at speeds of up to 35 mph to escape predators.

Sadly, there is a huge decline in the number of roan antelopes in Kenya, from 202 in 1976 to 14 in 2021. This massive decline can be attributed to habitat loss and hunting for meat and trophies.
