We salute our very own Alex Tamei, who presented his paper at two different conferences, within this week.
He presented at the Afronomicslaw Academic Forum Conference and at the Africa International Economic Law Network (AFIELN) Bridge Conference.
Tamei's paper is titled, 'African integration realities: Ideological perspectives on African regional cooperation vis a vis AfCFTA implementation.'

We salute our very own Adeline Kiptoo Chelagat, Joyce Mwende and coach Gordon Ogolla, for the remarkable efforts they put in at the global IBA-VIAC CDRC Mediation and Negotiation Competition.
The team emerged 4th best globally!

Our luminaries, Jesse Thaiya, Kelvin Musyimi and coach Mr. Kelly Malenya, are at Geneva-Switzerland, representing Kenya at the in-person global rounds of the Nelson Mandela Moot Court Competition (worldmoot).
The team is the only Kenyan among 24 teams from around the world, that qualified for the rounds, after gruelling written and oral virtual rounds.

Last week, Chief Justice (emeritus) Prof W***y Mutunga joined us for a public lecture on judicial dress and address. We then reflected on the Gen-Z revolution.
Thereafter, he joined our students for a mentorship session.
We thank him for making time to mentor our students, year in, year out.

I see Alternative Justice Systems (AJS) as an initiative to decolonise.
The person who had a lot of power in the administration was a white man, and he took control over us, changing our institutions to accomplish their tasks.

Alternative Justice Systems(AJS) are a requirement of the law with Constitutional underpinnings under Article 48 of the Constitution of Kenya.
AJS help the marginalised, as was explained yesterday, by Faith Koila, of the National Legal Aid Service-Kenya.

We had the privilege of hearing from a high-level panel consisting of Hon. Justices Daniel Musinga, Erick Ogola, Oscar Angote, Hellen Wasilwa, Hon. Kabucho and Chief Kadhi Abdulahim Hussein.
They discussed the relationship between Alternative Justice Systems and the Courts.
Yesterday, judges showed up and showed off their cultural attires, to match the Alternative Justice Systems cultural day theme.

The brilliant Levy Masinde, Faith Ndubai, Risper Heaven, Hiltruda Nyokabi, and Victoria Okeke represented us well at the prestigious 65th edition of The Competition! ๐๐
They were the 2nd best in Kenya and will be proceeding to the global rounds in Washington DC, USA.

The Philip C. Jessup moot court competition is one of the largest moot court competitions in the world focusing on international law. It involves hypothetical disputes between countries presented at the ICJ.
