Honour Village Cambodia

A week or so ago, our students were studying science in Khmer kindergarten class at Honour Village Cambodia. The students were so excited to see what’s in the handkerchief. The students observed it so well! The students touched and thought what it was! They made a guess. Yes it was a fruit! But what was it? It’s a bunch of grapes! They described the shape, the color, and the taste of the grapes! They were enjoying counting how many type of the grapes they knew and they were enjoying eating as well!

Valentines Day at Honour Village Cambodia! Students in Let's Go Begin got creative and crafted decorations for the day.

Albert Hastreiter, one of Honour Village Cambodia's directors, visited our school recently along with some German guests, who made a kind donation to the work of the school. Many thanks!

Learning and play never stops at Honour Village Cambodia, Some students come before school starts, and after classes, some wait for their parents to take them home. They play in the playroom, or some read books in the Library - both supervised!

Today it's time to make paper ducks!

The famous Honour Village Cambodia Christmas party took place on Christmas Eve and it was a blast! Hundreds of students and their families and all the staff. Eating, singing, dancing, playing games, and celebrating the holiday.

After our long holiday at Honour Village Cambodia, Khmer kindergarten classes restarted on December 4 2023. There are 110 students in five classes - two classes for three-year olds, two classes for four-year olds, and one more class for five-year olds. These pictures show the teachers and librarian and the kindergarten students in different activities.

We have 5 enthusiastic Khmer kindergarten teachers and one funny librarian. The teachers and librarian are ready to share their knowledge as the little ones start their journey!

It's the end of the school year at Honour Village Cambodia. As part of the end-of-year activities, we presented Certificates of Appreciation to students in our English classes for the top three in each class. We also provided HVC bags, notebooks, pens and pencils to our excellent students. Congrats and well done to all of them, and to their teachers!

The school will be on a break until the new academic year starts in early December.

It's school holiday time at Honour Village Cambodia. Last week we showed you the Khmer kindergarten students. Today it's our English students just before they started their holidays. Are they happy with the games and snacks? You decide!

The Khmer Kindergarten students started their long break on 31 October, and they enjoyed some sandwiches and milk to celebrate the start of their holiday. Enjoy the smiles and the cuteness in the pics!

The new academic year (2023-2024) will start on 04 December 2023.

An interesting lesson for English kindergarten students at Honour Village Cambodia. The students are studying insects, and describe how many insects they know. Most of the students love the bee! So to be more joyful the teacher and the students cut the color paper to make the bee. A hive of activity!

Our multi-talented security guard is building a new classroom for students at Honour Village Cambodia! The school is growing, thanks to you and all the hard-working staff and students!

And look how the neighbourhood is growing! Once we were in the country, far outside Siem Reap. Now the busy town is developing rapidly.

Guess what's happening in the playroom at Honour Village!

What's happening in the playroom? Designing flowers, making models with popsicle/lollipop sticks, stacking cups, building, and generally just getting stuff done!

Kannika is our featured teacher today, shown here with the English Time 1 Class. Students read the story together and answer the questions, and then learn to use the vocabulary words in their own sentences.

More Honour Village Camboda computer students complete their courses and receive a certificate. Congratulations to our new IT warriors and to their teachers, and well done!

It is summer now in Cambodia, and hot, so the HVC Librarian showed the students how make fans from paper. The students paid so much attention and were are so engaged. It is just a small activity to make it the hot weather a bit more tolerable!

Activities in the playroom at Honour Village! Our ever-industrious children are cutting paper, making flowers, building with bricks, constructing, building towers, matching cards, or just plain old playing!

In English kindergarten this week at Honour Village Cambodia, the students are studying the letter "L" so to make the lesson more interesting and enjoyable, the teacher and students do art and craft by cutting the paper to make ladybugs (or ladybirds, if you are from the UK!).

Congratulations to our computer whizz-kids who successfully completed a training course on basic computer skills (Microsoft word, Excel and PowerPoint) - and to their teachers!

Today, English kindergarteners learn to draw and paint triangles, circles and ovals.

It's a new year, and time to start learning at Honour Village Cambodia. The English Kindergarten classes and General English classes started on January 2nd, 2023!

Congratulations to our Honour Village Cambodia student, employee, and now graduate, Ravuth!

Ravuth has successfully completed a bachelor's degree, majoring in Accounting and Auditing at the University of South-East Asia.​ He was one of our early residential children. Honour Village (and all you kind people) supported him from Primary school until University, and he has been working at HVC as an accountant and administration officer. He is clever, hardworking and honest. Please join us in congratulating him and wishing Ravuth all the very best in his career!

Welcoming our new kindergarten children who started on December 1, we had games and activities in and outside of the classroom.

In one game two teams competed for Pom-Poms One student from each team ran through the cones to the table and took out one Pom-pom with a spoon before running back to their teams. The students had to be fast and balanced - no wobbling! The team with the most pom-poms is the winner. The children were so competitive and so focused but more importantly is they had so much fun!

Khmer Kindergarten started 1 December 2022. Let's welcome our bright-eyed little newcomers to Honour Village Cambodia!
