The Cambodian government started moving all the inhabitants of the Siem Reap slums outside of Siem Reap. The families of our students are being moved to Run Ta Eak, 30 km away. There is no water or electricity there at the moment. Their plan: sell the piece of land they are given and come back to Siem Reap. Let's hope their plan works out so everyone can continue to come to school.

89 of our SOIDpupils are now attending state school. They received a uniform and SOID pays for their schoolmaterials etc. It is not the same as having our own school but still happy they are getting as much learningopportunities as possible.

Best wishes for all of you in 2023. Unfortunately this year did not start out great for SOID. The land our school is built on will be sold. Therefore our school is closed for the moment. We are working on solutions and hope everyone will be able to attend classes again as soon as possible. Luckily we ended 2022 with a party, extra fruit and new shoes.

Versterking Team SOID Nederland
Sinds 2008 wordt SOID Nederland vol overgave door Wim en Gertie Dohmen gerund. Mede door hun inzet is de school in Cambodja gegroeid tot wat het nu is: een school waar dagelijks 150 kinderen les krijgen. Een school die tevens van groot belang is voor de armoedebestrijding in Siem Reap.
Om de voortgang van de stichting te waarborgen en Wim en Gertie voor een deel te ontlasten zijn er nieuwe bestuursleden geworven die zich nu en in de toekomst willen inzetten voor het voortbestaan van de school in Cambodja.
De samenstelling van het bestuur ziet er nu als volgt uit:

- Gertie Dohmen (Bestuurslid)
