The LCEC has launched a series of Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Expert trainings as part of the BUILD_ME project. Following the first successful session in Tripoli, trainings were held across five branches in Lebanon at the Order of Engineers and Architects (OEA).
Led by experts from LCEC, these sessions covered energy efficiency, renewable energy concepts, and the updated Building Energy Performance (BEP) tool 2.0.
The EPC scheme aims to enhance transparency in the building sector and promote energy-efficient practices. Trainees took an exam to qualify as EPC Experts, with opportunities for further training in September 2024.
The BUILD_ME project is being implemented by LCEC in partnership with Guidehouse and the support of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The project is a promising step towards achieving highly efficient buildings in the MENA region.

The Renewable Energy Outlook for Lebanon is a study developed by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in collaboration with the Lebanese Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) and the Lebanese Centre for Energy Conservation (LCEC) Link:chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.irena.org/-/media/Files/IRENA/Agency/Publication/2020/Jun/IRENA_Outlook_Lebanon_2020.pdf. The renewable energy analysis shows that Lebanon has the potential to supply 30% of its electricity consumed in 2030 from renewable energy sources, specifically solar, wind, and hydropower. This has the potential to transform Lebanon’s energy landscape by 2030, enhancing energy security and mitigating the environmental impact of fossil fuel dependency.
