Herod Stanislas
Current Opposition Senator and Former Parliamentary Representative for Soufriere/Fond St Jacques
Another promising young life gone too soon. Sincerest condolences to her family and friends on her passing. May she rest in perpetual peace.
PRESS RELEASE: The United Worker’s Party Soufriere / Fond St Jacques Constituency Branch is deeply outraged by the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) government's inadequate response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl along the Soufriere Waterfront. The government's lack of urgency and transparency starkly betrays their election promise to "Put You First".
The people of Soufriere are still reeling from the destruction caused by Hurricane Beryl, and the government's inaction is only exacerbating their suffering. During a pre-cabinet press conference, the Prime Minister claimed that if he had $3 million, he would allocate it to the hurricane victims in Soufriere, particularly those in Baron’s Drive. However, the destruction from Hurricane Beryl continues to impact our community, with the Soufriere Waterfront still in disarray.
Critical infrastructure, such as the jetties, cemetery, and Hummingbird Beach Park, remains in dire need of repairs to ensure safe operation. With hundreds of locals and tourists relying on the jetties daily, the lack of urgency in addressing these issues is deeply concerning. The significant damage of our cemetery, a sacred place where our loved ones rest, is a stark reminder of the government's disregard for the dignity of our community's final resting place. Similarly, at Hummingbird Beach Park, essential perimeter lighting remains in disrepair, compromising safety and security and forcing small business operators to close early, resulting in significant income loss.
Fishing and water taxi operators have also been dealt a devastating blow, losing valuable business and income as some boats remain inoperable due to the damage sustained during the hurricane. Where is the promised $1,500 in assistance that the Prime Minister assured the Parliamentary Representative would be made available to boat owners as part of an initial aid package? Could some of the CIP funds, which seem to be liberally distributed across the island, be used for this purpose? These funds could have provided the necessary support to our community, but instead, the Prime Minister's incompetence and lack of transparency have left us with empty promises and unfulfilled commitments.
The government's “secret deal” with Global Ports Holdings for the ports of Soufriere and Castries, made without meaningful consultation, is unacceptable. We demand full disclosure of the lease terms and clarification on Global Ports Holdings' ; role in repairing and maintaining the waterfront infrastructure. With the tourism season approaching, the restoration of the Soufriere Waterfront is critical, and the government must act swiftly to prevent further harm to our economy.
We strongly condemn the government's inaction, incompetence, and secrecy in the strongest possible terms. The ineffective advocacy by the Parliamentary Representative during this critical time proves she is unsuitable to represent the needs and interests of the people of our beloved “Sulphur City.” This government promised to put the people first, but their inaction during our time of need clearly demonstrates their dishonesty and ineptitude.
The people of Soufriere deserve better, and we demand immediate action to restore our waterfront to its former glory.

Senator Herod Stanislas presents his Annual Back To School Free Haircut & Hairstyles Programme
An initiative conceptualized from the hardship of COVD-19 and the steady economic downturn, spawned my annual free Back To School Haircuts and Hairstyles event.
Implemented in 2022, the program regularly benefits over 300 boys and girls per year. A total of eight (8) men and women have been devoting their time and skills to ensure that the back to schoolers feel and look prepared for their new academic year.
This program was not only developed to ease a burden for struggling parents before the upcoming school term but to further promote economic stimulation for the business oriented youth of Soufriere.
This initiative has stepped into its third year and I look forward to continuing this assistance for my constituents in this capacity and more.
Please see the flyer below for this year’s program details.

During my tenure as Parliamentary Representative of Soufriere/Fond St. Jacques, we conceptualized a full design for the New Development Fitness Park. This park would have been a 25,864 sq.ft sports recreational area designated for fitness activities and an overall outdoor recreation for users of all ages. The project would have comprised of an outdoor gym, paved walking and jogging area, washroom and changing room facilities, children playing area and seating areas for relaxation.
The purpose of this park was to extend outdoor play and fitness experiences to strengthened our holistic approach to sports, fitness development and to provide additional support to our sports men and women and to further compliment the Upgraded Soufriere Stadium and the upcoming Ruby Cricket Ground.
Upon demitting Office in 2021, all of the MoveStrong FitGround outdoor equipment was on island and was awaiting installation upon the completion of road reconstruction in this location in July 2021.
Almost a year ago, the project finally commenced with the installation of a few of the components of the outdoor equipment. Soon after the project commenced, it was stopped. So, we ask Hon. Emma Hippolyte Parliamentary Representative of Soufriere/Fond St. Jacques to explain to the residents and Soufrierians why the abrupt haul to the project?
Why has the project turned into a town forest in the reserved space owned by the residents? Is it true that a generous donor contributed to the project, paid the donation to the Account of the Contractor and the funding was seized by the financial institution due to outstanding payments owed by that Contractor? And is it also true that a river desilting contract was recently awarded to this same contractor indirectly as an effort to settle outstanding wages to quell the noise from workers owed on the project?
I call on the District Representative Hon. Hippolyte, to provide answers of this embattled project and inform as to when the fitness park will be completed for the residents of New Development and other users.

Death has visited again.
My Sincerest Condolences to the Alfred and Simon Families on the passing of Brenda. I know how heartbreaking and shocking this loss will be. May she rest in perpetual peace.
Prime Minister Pierre's behaviour in Soufriere after the passage of Hurricane Beryl is absolutely unacceptable and unbecoming of a leader of a country
Round Table Discussion
Soufriere/Fond St Jacques will bounce back stronger💪🏽
I have spent the morning checking up on residents, businesses and institutions that were affected by the passage of Hurricane Beryl in Soufriere. Whilst I am thankful that no lives were lost during the passage of the storm, many of our people along the waterfront have been severely affected by flood waters.
I appeal to the Government to ensure that the required resources and support is given to a speed up the clean up and rebuilding efforts. Additionally I pray that the small business owners who have been affected especially those at the Soufriere Beach Park will be given the necessary aid to restart their businesses🙏🏽
l
Encouraging all my residents of Soufriere/Fond St Jacques and Saint Lucians in general to please take the pending storm seriously. Hurricane Beryl is now a Category 4 storm. Stay safe🙏🏽
CIP- More Secrets , Lies and Propaganda
Unexpected news of sudden death hits differently especially when it's of a young person. Saddened by this news. Condolences to the Francois Family of Boulevard Street, Soufriere on this huge loss especially Ms Margaret- Rafick's mom. My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
Journey well Rafick, you will be missed.
The Government of Saint Lucia refuses to take the ongoing Citizenship by Investment (CIP) fiasco seriously, preferring to play politics instead of addressing the troubling revelations that have drastic consequences for our fair Helen. I have officially written to Prime Minister Pierre, highlighting the facts, threats, and many irregularities currently taking place within Saint Lucia’s CIP. With US$1.4 Billion (3.7 Billion EC) of unaccounted CIP funds, this is a cause for major concern!
Join me this Sunday at 8:00 PM for a crucial address where I will share the contents of my letter to the Prime Minister regarding the ongoing CIP scandal. Tune in LIVE on DBS, Hot7 TV, GVD TV, Kiss FM, YouTube, or right here on Facebook. This is an event you can't afford to miss. Stand with us as we demand transparency and accountability from our leaders. Your voice matters!
