Hydraulic Mechanics

Perform regular service, maintenance, and repair work on forklifts. This involves working with hydraulic systems, maintaining electrical systems, diesel engines, transmission and checking for structural problems.

Experience Preferred
Two or more years of experience in a related field, including maintenance of various lift trucks such as Hyster, Cat and Toyota.

Duties - Operation of a loading shovel , feeding screeners ,moving stock piles, cleaning of plant. Loading shovel driver required for a busy compost yard.

The Lead Operator assumes the interface, during his shift, between the Production Engineer or Operations Manager and the Operators to ensure smooth running of the plant.

Main Tanks:
• He receives all instructions relative to the production campaign from the Production Engineer.
• He relays any report of abnormal operation (safety, product quality, process conditions, mechanical problems to the Production Engineer.
• He organizes the work of the operations, based on the received instructions.
• He handles the transfer of all instructions at the end of his shift.
• He has the full responsibility of the unit(s) operation, and should be able to take some critical decisions, and/or will alert the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager regarding the problems, particularly if related to safety or product maintenance.
• He will perform, whenever needed, the same tasks of the Operators for smooth operation.
• He will conduct the routine laboratory analyses, in the shift.
• He will assist the Maintenance Engineer in case of any requirement.
• He drives and operate Forklifts for loading and unloading drums, bags, etc. in production and storage area.
• He drives company car if deemed necessary for coming to shift and back to place of residence.
• Collect samples as per procedure.
• Prepare samples for testing and analysis.

Experience & Skills Required
• The ideal candidate will be an experienced hands-on process operator in the chemical manufacturing sector with a solid knowledge of plant process, chemical unit operations and manufacturing functions and process automation systems.
• Must be able to react under pressure and effectively respond to urgent or emergency situations.
• Must have a strong technical aptitude and mathematical ability with an ability to troubleshoot and optimize chemical manufacturing production processes.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in operating a forklift.
• Must successfully complete the Forklift Operator training and certification course provided by the company on a periodic basis in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.178 ‘Power Industrial Trucks.
• Must be able to effectively use PC based programs, datasheets and procedures in performing daily functions.
• Must be physical dexterous and capable of handling chemicals in drums, bags and totes throughout the shift in a safe and effective manner. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and exert force of 100 lbs. on a regular basis and handle drums weighing more than 350 lbs. with or without materials handling equipment.
• Must be able to stand and walk for approximately 85% of the shift day in a factory environment and work at a desk or control panel.
• A ‘Safety First’ attitude and must have a solid foundation of working in compliance with safety regulations and policies, of demonstrating safe work practices and in handling hazardous materials.
• An ability to strictly adhere to all company policies including treating co-workers, customers, vendors, and the public fairly, with dignity and respect and without discrimination, bias or harassment and maintaining a substance abuse free environment.
• Being able to respond to a fast-paced entrepreneurial setting that values responsiveness and making a difference for our customers.
• Being trustworthy, reliable and of high integrity and who can collaboratively work in a small but strong manufacturing team.
• Being flexible to work in a variety of functions throughout the facility.
• Process Operator Certification preferred.
• Safety Certifications preferred
• Current Forklift Driver Certification by recognized testing authority preferred
