I am trying to incorporate a run everyday.

Earlier I did this on a treadmill.

But outside running is completely different.

No head phones.

Just the present moment.

Feels amazing.

🧠 Discipline vs Motivation

All success stories have something in common: discipline.

Unlike motivation, discipline is the mental exercise of doing what needs to be done, even when you don't feel like doing it. It's the key to consistency, progress, and success.

So, how do you build discipline?

Discipline is slow school of thought that can only be instilled with regular practice.

So here’s what I do, I’ve taken up 2 physically strenuous habits and keep at it daily, weekly - Even when i don’t want to

➡️ I walk /run daily for 20 minutes, rain or shine.

➡️ I practice a 16-hour fast - which is especially challenging cause who doesn’t love food right?

On days when you're feeling low or when you're not seeing results, it's easy to skip these habits. But sticking to them demonstrates discipline.
A disciplined mindset can set you apart from the rest and positively impact other areas of your life. Try it!

⚙️ A personal operating system ⚙️

Just like computers need an operating system to function, we humans need our own personal operating system to navigate life.

Personally, I've chosen ‘stoicism’

➡️ To be influenced by logic and not emotion

➡️ To focus on things I can control and let go of what I can’t

➡️ To care more about what I think of myself than what others say of me

With stoicism, I'm able to take control of my thoughts and emotions and mold them into a positive force that propels me forward

Try it out, it's like having a superpower that keeps you cool, calm, and collected no matter what life throws your way ⚽

Pokahara lake is an absolute beauty. We had to cross this lake in order to get to Thalpani, the resort that’s on the other side of the bustling city of Pokhara.

Pokhara has one of the best Para Gliding spots in the world. The icy mountain range you see in the background is the Annapurna range.

If you ever do this, ask the instructor to do some acrobatic maneuvers 🤘

🚨 I have finally picked a full time project (a product) to build after my Alakazam journey! One that focuses on Improving UX in Web3.

If you’re a new web3 user, you’ll probably agree with me when I say that some popular applications in the web3 space have really bad user experience. It can leave you staring at the screen absolutely confused and clueless 😵‍💫

A friend Heshan reached out to me last week asking if I was interested in collaborating on a project that was to improve UX on web3 apps, for which had already done the initial project validation. Now, Heshan and I are pursuing this as our next startup; Qwest 🚀

With an initial cheque from Hustle Fund to achieve ramen profitability for this idea. We set on a common goal of onboarding the next 1 billion people to a truly magical web3 user experience. 🪄

So why am I tweeting about this you may ask?

Well, we’re believers in radical transparency specially in the product building process. With the hope of encouraging more founders to open up on what they are building and inspiring would-be-founders to build! 👷🏽‍♂️

She said ‘YES’!! 🎉

Got a little . I proposed to my girlfriend in France towards the end of our trip around Europe.

The picture says it all! 📸

I told her that I wanted to do a photoshoot in Paris, and she had no idea that I would be proposing to her during the course of this shoot until the moment I got down on one knee 💍

Sasmini has been a pillar of strength to me throughout my journey as Founder and as a person.

I met her in 2019 and the more time I spent with her, I realized who she truly was... a beautiful soul with a kind and caring personality.

She has always been an anchor through tough times and has supported me immensely to focus on my new vision of rebuilding to the level it’s at today 🥬

With the pandemic began in 2020, and everything spiraling into uncertainty we still managed to flourish our relationship. I realized her importance in my life and how with her by my side everything was always going to be okay.

I don’t believe that there is enough credit given to the support system around us founders. We are nothing without the help and support we receive from our loved ones in our personal life. So please take a little time out of your day today to thank and appreciate the people around you 💎

Doing deep work is hard and takes some effort to get going, but it’s not meant to be a bore—it’s the intense kind of concentration you only get when you’re super into something ⏳

Often willpower alone is not sufficient to be the force that gets you going, which is why I've been fascinated with the potential the deep working methodologies can create. The first step however is to identity which type of "Deep Philosophy" works best for you. 👓

Any guesses on what you think suits you best?

I have noticed that every leader, regardless of industry, influences the energy of a workplace.

This essentially means that the energy a leader brings to work will be observed and adopted by the team 👁

Optimism has the power to make or break a team of employees ☀

Any tips on how to sustain an optimistic work culture? Let me know in the comments so I could implement them and improve the climate at my company!

The past 2 weeks have been an amazing experience.
I was part of an intense program from the Draper University which covered the fundamentals of Entrepreneurship. The contents of the program were thrilling, focusing on Prototype thinking, Ideation, Pitching and Startup Term sheets and much more 🌟

I met some incredible people through this program, a big shout out to Anya Cheng, Aaron Guyett, Justin Chueh and Ruqayah who were part of Team Phoenix. It was such a pleasure getting to know each one of you.

A big thank you to Suffiyah and Mohammad Hassan who did an astounding job executing the program smoothly, considering the many time zones and 50+ heroes! Kudos to you both.

Last but not least, Tim Draper, the main man behind Draper University. Thank you for bringing this initiative to life and for building this community.

For a while now, I’ve been intrigued 🤔 by the role an entrepreneur plays in the business.
I’ve always been of the mindset that an entrepreneur’s role is beyond the hours ⏰ he/she puts into the operations of the business and more aligned towards value expansion 📈.

Head over to my medium through the link in my bio to have a read about my thoughts on this and ask yourself “Are you IN or ON your business?”.

I had the pleasure of speaking to organizational psychologist last week on The Curious Experience 🔍 Rozaine perfectly articulated the importance of
📌 self awareness
📌 setting boundaries and
📌 rest
in managing stress, and in-turn preventing burnout.
