We need a hero! Sorry, we need a corgi! As many as possible. In costumes, please, too! Here is a little aftermath of the annual Korgių lenktynės (Corgi Race) in Vilnius that happened this Saturday. Be warned of the cuteness overload!
All the cool kids have Vilnius tattoos.
Please meet the legends (OG) who inspired the “Vilnius Tattoo: Ink Your Love” project. People who are the ambassadors of our beloved city and proudly show the world their unique tattoos and love for the city.

LIVE RIGA, you may have three more people, but we've got three more Michelin-starred restaurants. Quality over quantity, right? 🌟🌟🌟🌟
What a night! What a party! Thank you to each one of you for celebrating at the As Young As Vilnius festival! 🎈🎉🥳
Vilnius' birthday is upon us🎂! Celebrate at the "As Young As Vilnius" free outdoor festival on July 25th in Vingis Park. Don’t be a stranger – pop in! Everyone will find something interesting to enjoy: from classical music to a performance by pop queen Rita Ora, activities for children, and recycled trash (literally) installations. All the info: https://www.govilnius.lt/as-young-as-vilnius.
The joy of a tradition built over a century. A century - can you believe it? A century has passed since the first Lithuanian Song Celebration, which brought us together in song, dance, and unity. Amazing...

Just a glimpse of the emotions that filled Kalnai Park (Kalnų parkas) during the ensemble's evening “The Tree of Life.” This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Lithuanian Song Celebration, and it's hard to put into words how spectacular all the performances are. Once in a lifetime!

You know how Sabrina Carpenter sang: “I am working late ‘cause I am a chef. I am working weekends and holidays as well.” (Or something like that).
Let’s be real - the gastro world isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Running a restaurant is a tough job. We often don’t realize how much work, skill, and time it takes to create not only delicious but also stunning dishes. It requires a lot of coordination and cooperation from everyone in the kitchen, from the head chef to the cleaning staff, so we can relax and enjoy a seamless dining experience, savouring each bite as if it were effortlessly crafted.
Exploring new dishes, flavours, and techniques has become a big part of our culture, but we often forget to appreciate the people who make these experiences possible.
Today, we celebrate the entire culinary scene in Vilnius and Lithuania, and we say THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
We are proud to announce that today MICHELIN Guide Lithuania 2024 has been published.

EXTREMELY OFFICIAL STATEMENT: šaltibarščiai is better than aukstā zupa. Any thoughts about it, LIVE RIGA?
Who saw northern lights in Vilnius only on social media the next day? ✋

The world's longest šaltibarščiai table, connecting Vilnius with Lublin💗! Fortunately, we didn't actually have to build such a loooooong table – we teleported the other end of it via a magical (kinda) portal from Lithuania to Poland. Vilnius Pink Soup Fest is already on June 1st, so don’t miss out!
This is it, from today onwards we will only talk about šaltibarščiai, aka pink soup. Šaltibarščiai for breakfast, for lunch, and for dinner. Pink eggs, pink food, pink everything. Pink Easter celebration! We will talk about šaltibarščiai up to June 1st when we finally have the chance to celebrate this gorgeous colored soup with the dedicated festival – Vilnius Pink Soup Fest. Get your bellies and your pink outfits ready! For more info: https://www.govilnius.lt/pink-soup-fest
When your autumn potatoes start growing roots in your cupboard, you know it's time for šaltibarščiai! They've been waiting for a long time. Let them fulfill their destiny to become the world's most delicious combo - cold pink soup and hot potatoes.
What’s the best cold soup in the world? Of course – ŠALTIBARŠČIAI, aka Pink Soup. And here's some hard science (almost) to prove it. Oh, and to celebrate... Vilnius Pink Soup fest starts on June 1st!
How does it feel not to be first, LIVE RIGA?
Thank you, our friends TasteAtlas, for the well-deserved recognition. Look up here for the recipe: https://www.tasteatlas.com/best-rated-cold-soups-in-the-world
And the world's number 1 happiest place for those under 30. Overall, in the top 20.
And you know what? We smile. Inside.

Inspired by the current drama of the Royal Family in the UK... Vilnius may or may not have made some small tweaks to the iconic St. Anne's Church. What do you think?
The Pink Soup season starts on June 1st in Vilnius. Get your bellies and your most extravagant pink outfits ready. The more you know 🌈⭐
As the morning sun paints the sky with the brightest colors, Vilnius tells us stories. Stories of strength and never-ending hope of our people. Enjoy the Day of Restitution of Independence, Lithuania!

While the snow has almost completely melted in Vilnius, here is the result of a crispy winter photoshoot. We don’t have the Eiffel Tower in Vilnius, but if you look closely, you can see the inspiration of metal constructions in the Hales Market building (not making this up, it’s true!).
The market officially opened in 1906, making it one of the oldest indoor markets in Vilnius. Fun fact: when the sun sets, Hales Market undergoes a magical transformation, and the fresh tomatoes find their way into your Bloody Mary cocktail. Cheers!

Spring has sprung in Vilnius, and it's unexpectedly amazing.
A ship-shaped building in the center of Vilnius? Aye aye, Captain! Some say that being on the upper floor allows you to feel like a captain and see everything from a wider perspective.
The Office Building of the Cooperative Union of Lithuania, designed by J. Seibokas, is an exceptional example of late modernist architectural mastery. As you walk along the Old Town of Vilnius, notice how its undulating façade blends seamlessly with the expressive architecture along Gediminas Avenue.

Only 100 days left…

Today, the streets of Vilnius are decorated with the vibrant colors of yellow, green, and red – the colors of our national flag. Symbolically, these flags remind us of the long journey that took us to a modern and, most importantly, free Lithuania.
On February 16, 1918, Lithuania reclaimed its voice and the right to write its own future with the signing of the Act of Independence at the historical House of Signatories.
It was a bold move in the context of years of oppression, but indeed, very important. Let's enjoy this day together, celebrating a beautiful thing that we received, independence.
Try to make your wildest guess about which one might be something to look up. Lots of love from Vilnius and happy Valentine's Day!
Sometimes the best place to enjoy a fine piece of art is… in a strip club? In a hot tub?!??
A stained glass piece by the Lithuanian artist Kazys Morkūnas, created in 1974 and considered lost, has been discovered in a private room of a strip club in Vilnius.
Curious how the discovery was made: https://www.lrt.lt/en/news-in-english/19/2188963/long-lost-stained-glass-masterpiece-discovered-in-vilnius-strip-club

Happy World Cepelinas Day! May the superstar of Lithuanian cuisine remind you not to judge the book by its cover – as sometimes weird-suspicious-looking foods are unexpectedly amazing. Like Vilnius in February.
Happy international crush-sahnt.... cruss-AUNT... kwuuuh-saaaanh day.
