Fruteria Penner

One of the first pictures of Fruteria Penner KM.17 . In 1992 it all started with a box of oranges, some pineapples and a couple of watermelons. Eventually there were more boxes of oranges, more watermelons, other fruits and vegetables, and a couple of bags of diapers. Slowly, Fruteria Penner started growing and soon a small structure was built, an actual grocery store. This building didn’t stay small; throughout the years the store grew, more products were requested and therefore a bigger building was needed. Fast forward many years, the store grew bigger and bigger…

A couple of weeks ago, Fruteria Penner had opened one last time. After 29 years, it was time to close its doors. We are thankful for everyone that’s supported us. Those of you who have been there from the very start, the ones that came and left with a whole shopping cart full of groceries, the ones that came to the store to simply buy a soda or a bag of chips, maybe some gum too. Thank you to those who worked with us and helped make our store the best store. But most of all, we are thankful for the one that started it all, the one that always made sure that Fruteria Penner had the best variety in fruits and vegetables, among other things…you all know who he is.

Although Fruteria Penner km.17 is now closed, our store was a huge part of our lives, and will forever hold a piece of our hearts. We encourage our friends and clients to support local businesses, regardless of how big or small. Keep shopping local.
