Harap kita dapat bekerjasama di masa akan datang untuk "Fill the gaps" di antara industri dan academician untuk membantu lebih ramai pelajar dan mencipta peluang untuk mereka.
Apa yang mampu GDS beri hanya lah pengalaman, pandangan dan tempat untuk latihan. Semoga dengan sedikit sumbangan ini dapat menaikkan lagi martabat profession Geomatic khasnya dalam Underground Utility Mapping.

[ 8 Years Anniversary ]
Its long journey ups and downs every year now almost 8 years.
Starting in 2014 after quitting my job, I establish GDS from site, prepared drawings to submission, all by myself for almost 2 years.
Tired but worth it because of the passion. It becomes pleasure when the client likes the results given. There were not many clients at that time.
In 2016, we started hiring a team, it was less tiring because we didn't have to do everything, we just had to manage the team, but it's tiring when you use your brain a lot and think about your commitments every month.
It is not easy to be the leader and convince the team when we have nothing.
Until now 2022 we are grateful to still survive despite too many challenges. Teams come and go, which remains we will give the best we can at the time.
The biggest challenge is not at the startup, not when covid first came but at this endemic. Anyway our responsibilities are getting bigger with the remaining 18 team members we have to take care of.
We can't be comfortable and sit back because it's not just about ourselves and our families anymore but the team and also the customers who still need our services.
Thanks to the loyal team, thanks also to all the customers who are still loyal. Without all, GDS today does not celebrate its 8th anniversary.

Global Detection Services was established in 4 November 2014 founded by Sr Samsul Farhan Samsuddin and incorporated as Global Detection Solution Sdn Bhd (knowns as GDS) in 2017 which is a wholly owned Malaysian company registered.

[ 30 Years Anniversary HAPM ]

Congratulations to Tuan Ir. Hj. Suyanto Osman on the achievement of HAPM Consultant Sdn Bhd (HAPM) celebrating its 30th anniversary.

With all the achievements of HAPM involved in this mega project in Malaysia is very inspired by the first mega project which is Menara TM. There are many untold stories.

HAPM is a professional project management company since 1992 and has completed over RM20 billion worth of projects throughout Malaysia.

That's my dream but wait! before that, do many people know about your business here yet?

If not, do it first before going to another country. The challenges in our own country are not the same as those abroad and may even be more challenging.

My take away from this event is that there are too many opportunities, grant and support from Gov for SMEs to go abroad but not many people know about Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) which also helps services or professional business as well. Usually we just hear for product only.

Thank you Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) for inviting me and Malaysian Professional Center (BIM) for organize this event.

What about success? Do I have to be in the same room with them as in the picture below? I wish I could 😉
What I understand from this quote is that means when you are the smartest in the room you have nothing to learn from others in that room since you are the smartest. (correct me if i'm wrong).
My opinion is that sometimes we have to be in the wrong room as well to help those who are just starting whatever they want to start.
We can share what we have been through with them not only the right things we did, but also the wrong things we did so that they learn from it not to repeat it.
P/S : Life is like a wheel, sometimes we are at the bottom, sometimes we are still at the bottom. 😅

[ Day 2]

Yesterday, the last day of the event.

Take away from this event apart from new knowledge in RE and networking, the most valuable thing is to have a chat with honorable Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh.

My 3 words describe Tan Sri, funny, different and controversial person. 😅

One of the things he said earlier, if we want to achieve net-zero, start from our home by reducing electricity consumption or using energy -saving electrical products with the term "low hanging fruit".

[Do what you love or Love what you do?]
Which one come first?
My story 13 years ago I didn’t like utility mapping, a few times I asked my boss to change departments because I preferred engineering work. At the time (2008) I didn’t have much choice and I was also the first to be in the utility mapping section at Jurukur Perunding know as JP Surveys.
Why I didn’t like because it was far from my interest and what I had learned before. This subject was not taught while in university. I felt at the time this was not part of geomatics.
Day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year and finally I have fallen in love 6 years being in the same department from survey assistant to Assistant Operation Manager. Today i understand why utility mapping needs to be done by someone with a geometric background.
And Alhamdulillah, I am now in my 7th year of running my own company and only focus on utility mapping, although in this survey industries there are over 10 disciplines.

[Me and KVMRT Line 2]
Maybe for the public the recent launch of the Putrajaya Line MRT was a normal launch event but not for me. When I saw the launching, I goosebumps.
Furthermore from the posting of Mr. Bassam Mansour on LinkedIn who appreciated everyone involved in this project, I felt appreciated even though at that time I was the smallest sub-con, working alone (from the site to make a drawings) with the help of a few friends as freelance.
Too many MRT projects have affected my life. It was the first mega project we acquired at the beginning of the establishment of Global Detection Solution Sdn Bhd (GDS). From this project also GDS grew to this day entering its 7th year. After that many more Mega projects came. Alhamdulillah.
My Menthor Datuk Wira Dr Azizan Osman once advised "If we always celebrate small successes, with God’s permission many more big successes will come. That is a sign that we are grateful."
Thanks to everyone who always supports us directly or indirectly. Who continues to inspire and always trusts us. Thank you to all.
It is still not too late to congratulate all the Mrt Corporation Sdn Bhd teams on this success.
