So what is whole food?
It`s that group of food that are as little processed or refined as possible and have no additives such as preservatives or artificial ingredients, such as food colouring, added to the food.
Processed food are addictive yes, AND it leads to OVEREATING.
The snacking from the tub while watching TV or using canned food in your cooking instead of fresh produces etc.
Guilty? Yes, we have all done that.
Bloating? Definitely
Weight Gain? Naturally.

😝 You will never not see Matthew without a smile!. The smile that’s welcoming, optimistic, and almost…endearing.

📈 Matt was raised in a rather ‘structured’ upbringing; strict studies, private schools, and never-ending tuitions. And that paid off.

👨‍🎓 This Sarawakian lad graduated from the UK with a Degree in Nutrition, and recently obtained his Masters in the same field. He is now earnestly pursuing his passion and knowledge in nutrition, one that he will pair off perfectly as a strength training coach.

⚽️ His internship with the Selangor Football Club has given him a head start into the science behind nutrition, and the art of meal plans. No, Matthew does not play football professionally. He’s a runner and a trained one at it. He would choose a day watching a running or marathon documentaries and playbacks, over parties and loud music.

⚡️This physically built chap enjoys Japanese, listens to Post Malone, and constantly bouncing with energy. He loves working with athletes, prefers a café date, and yes, a bookworm too.

😎This straight A student is an Economist by qualification. Loves Math, an avid reader and grows up sandwiched by brothers. Qahmil has the best of both worlds – sambal belacan and soy sauce. His mixed parentage is both a privilege and a cheeky disguise. And trust us when we say ‘cheeky’!

💪🏽Strength training and coaching is no stranger to Qahmil. He brings his experiences with a humbled pride. He had experienced both commercial as well as boutique gyms, walking tens of clients towards their fitness goals. Qahmil is still finding his niche, when Powerlifting possibly already has a seal on him.

Today, we have another tip for you that is an essential aspect of adherence success for your nutrition plan.

That is INDIVIDUALIZATION

We all have our own small differences which should be taken into consideration for long-term success.

Let's say you want to lose fat and get in a caloric deficit plan. While fat-loss is mainly determined by total energy balance regardless of the individual, how one feels during this phase might vary based on the amount of each individual macronutrient.

For example, one person might feel completely fine after reducing carbs in a fat-loss phase, While another might feel moody, disturbances in sleep patterns, poor performance etc. in the gym. Therefore, this person will respond better by increasing their carb intake while being in a caloric deficit.

Another example would be meal timing. Some might not have an appetite early in the morning for breakfast but feel the opposite later in the day. In this case, such people can allocate the majority of their meals when they are hungry and eat less when they aren't.

While there are certain rules to follow such as energy balance equation etc., one should experiment to see what works based on their lifestyle, genetics, environment and skills when it comes to adhering to the nutrition plan to ensure sustainability for long-term success.

Continuing with adherence success for your nutrition plan, we will share with you one tip on this topic:

INTENTION

While it is certainly good to have a clear target such as losing 10 kg within the next 12 weeks, just thinking about it won't get you anywhere. What you need is a plan with a clear intent on how to exactly get there.

This intent could be committing to weight training 4 x weekly, planning your meals for tomorrow, the day after and so on, and reducing activities that take you further away from your target such as binge drinking over the weekend.

Intention is what allows you to create the process that gets you to your target.

Therefore, intend to make decisions that support your goal.

A question to help you make better decision: Will what I’m about to do take me closer to my target or further away?

Pausing for a moment and asking that question is a powerful way to stay the course!
