Curving the reception wall creates more privacy for our beloved visitors and their kiddos. We highlight the pantry with orange, which is also the heart of the space, providing a good flow of energy in the space. Design elements and decoration in orange delight the space with brand identity, making the space more welcoming.

With consideration to regulations, the focus of the design is on the well-being of both patient and practitioner. We make up the space out of rigid and ordinary by softening the edge with curves.

Due to the odd space created by the existing structural column, we work this area to their advantage by creating the internal walkway to connect practitioners between surgery rooms. In contrast, the other side of the column creates a small cozy playing zone for the kiddos.

The woody shade of flooring warms up the space, while the white was curtailed for beige to soften the visual impact of the striking Orange.

We know if we could physically make children feel at ease, their emotions would follow.

Why Peek-A-Tooth?

Being a dentist and a mother of one, Dr Teo wished to create a space which not only addresses a tooth that is bothering you, but also allows a welcoming experience for a child's first visit to the dentist.

Inspired by PeekaBoo, Dr Teo explains that from the signboard, it looks like a dental clinic, but when you step in, there is always a bit of a surprise. "I am looking forward to connecting and learning more stories from you, not just as patients, but as people," she remarks.

This is why the slanted entrance was designed, and it has transformed a commercial shoplot into a playful and imaginative space. Nestled in the heart of KL, the passerby always peeks into the space and curious what the space is about, thus Peek-A-Tooth makes sense!

Defined by a muted and restrained palette of finishes, the house sets a tone of calm that is carried into the interior and forms a base for personalisation. Within the mainly monochromatic base, the woody and concrete veining is sculpted into forms that will capture the marks of touch over time.

This expansion of space allowed the dining and bar to be opened as a central gathering point, complete with lofty ceiling heights set within the home's original envelope. The skylights now illuminate the adjacent, internalized living and dining spaces. The column results of breaking the existing wall is designed as part of the display shelf at dining areas, it hides all the wiring and modems, also maximizing the performance of it.

To break up the existing terraced house layout by combining the living, dining and pantry into one extended space. These spaces then open up not only adding to the composition of the home's elongated form in layout, also in the height of the space, to welcome in natural light by extending the usage of existing skylights.

一所像家一般温馨的托儿中心；
一所与大自然融合的托儿中心。

房屋翻修成为孩子们的欢乐天地，为了让新空间能与大自然融合，在做设计方案时考虑了要引入更多的光线，让小孩们能在明亮通透的空间里学习与嬉戏。我们在改造的过程也保留了部分的绿植，利用大门户与窗户的视觉延伸，尽可能使整个空间都感觉被绿植包围，打造一个室内外都适合小孩们活动的空间。

改造后与前

一开始来到工地考察时, 就发现了这所房子里藏着有价值的建材且当下就决定要尽可能的保留下来, 像是实木木梁, 后来变成了大厅用来修饰柱子的划分元素, 小台阶, 小小户外厨房等。老屋子的其一特色就是大理石地板, 由于改造过程难免一些被破坏了，但是经由老师傅手补修后，让旧有的和新填补的再次完美的呈现。

后面都是一开始拜访房子的照片。

我们保留了原先屋子客厅独有的圆弧梯级, 透过设计之余机能的润饰，用大树的设计修饰楼梯的拐角结构，塑造了一个孩子们的树屋秘密空间，时不时可以藏在里边嬉戏，圆弧通口和小滑梯则是为了增加空间的趣味性。这个私密空间呈现半开放性，主要还是考虑到教师可以及时观察到孩子们的需要。

小小的比例

每一处设计都考虑了孩子们的需求，细节设计的体现，都是根据孩子们的身高比例所考虑的。

经户型改造后, 把原有的格局打开, 在空间的规划上强调灵活性, 使得整体空间既可以是开放的, 也可以通过一些巧妙的设计分隔出不同的区域, 适应各类的教育活动和孩子们的成长需求。整个改造实现了房屋视觉感官的流动性，同时也提高了空间的使用率。此外，老师们的小巧思布满了整个空间，每个小角落都有惊喜，可爱与温馨，营造了孩子到处都是可以探索学习的地方。

在体验上追求环境和自然的融合, 让孩子们可以自由的去探索, 这才有了一个延伸去户外的楼梯, 是每一间课室直接通往户外的通道。小小户外厨房也是这里的特点，沙和水作为户外厨房的主要道具，在玩泥巴的过程中激发小孩们丰富的创造力和想象力。为了使改造更永续，我们也尽量再利用旧建材，把原来屋子的实木柱子改造成一个小小户外厨房。

Senscius means sensuous + ℃elsius, where ℃ conveys the happiness level of the sensibility of the interior created. Arc means part of a circle, shorthand for architecture as the interior architecture and design practice.
