It's convocation weekend at TAR UMT!

This time around, the first session of the convocation held today was extra significant as we conferred the Doctor of Philosophy in Business award to Tun Dr Ling Liong S*k who was the past Council Chairman of the then TAR College from 1986 to 2004.

It was a true honour to have Tun Dr Ling in our midst again, who was joined by Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee Ka Siong, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of TARC Education Foundation, and Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy, Chairman of the Board of Governors of TAR UMT and TAR UMT Alumni Council.

We had an insightful session listening to the sharing by representatives from LHDN, SPRM, SPA, and JKDM on ‘Inspiring Chinese to Serve as Civil Servants’. It was also a delight to have YB Tuan Chan Ming Kai, Political Secretary to the Prime Minister and YB Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee Ka Siong, TARC Education Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman joining us for the forum.

Last week, TAR UMT signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a Memorandum of Agreement with Wyndham Grand Bangsar Kuala Lumpur to provide collaborative benefits for both parties. We look forward to many great beginnings from this partnership.

Throwing it back to when our TARCian, as part of the Malaysia Dodgeball Team, helped secure an impressive 1st runner-up finish at the World Dodgeball Championship '24 in Graz, Austria!

We held a Topping-Out ceremony today to mark the final stages of the construction of TAR UMT's Student and SME Centre where Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee Ka Siong, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of TARC Education Foundation pulled a lever to release cement into the construction site. He was accompanied by Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy, Chairman of the Board of Governors of TAR UMT and TAR UMT Alumni Council, members of the Board of Trustees of TARC Education Foundation, members of the Board of Governors of TAR UMT, members of TAR UMT Alumni Council, members of the TAR UMT Land and Development Committee, and Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UMT.

TAR UMT’s Student and SME Centre is expected to be completed by the middle of next year and we are sure looking forward to it.
