Journey to a hidden frog paradise in the heart of a disappearing Malaysian forest! | New Straits Times IT’S slow-moving but time flies. It’s meditative and weirdly exhausting. I’m trailing after nature guide Steven Wong Siew Por and trying hard not to trip over exposed roots and loose rocks on this undulating trail into the forest.

Wood-Wide Web - UNDP Nature When we think of innovation, we often think of high technology, cutting-edge silicon chips, or the flashing lights of a computer server. But in some ways, this means we can't see the forest for the trees; we can’t see the network for the cloud; we can’t see the constant and complex innovation th...

Here's a chance for you to shape the city you want to live, work and play in - a City for All (Bandar untuk Semua).

Throw a pot-luck/buka puasa next 10 days to get your friends, families and neighbours over to review the Draft Kuala Lumpur Local Plan 2040 for your neighbourhood/favourite places in KL. These pointers were shared by Selamatkan Kuala Lumpur during their online zoom session on 20th March 2024.

1) Download the Draft KL Local Plan 2040 here (English and B. Melayu versions): https://ppkl.dbkl.gov.my/muat-turun-draf-pelan-tempatan-kuala-lumpur-2040/ Find your neighbourhood map number in "Vol 1 - Part 2 Land Use and Intensity Maps" on page 13. There are two pages per map - left map shows the land use zones & right map shows the intensity (density) and plot ratio (building height). Note: The colour coding of maps in the Draft KLLP2040 not very consistent.

2) To resolve the issue of colour inconsistency, go to this website (credit to DBKL for public access) https://cps.dbkl.gov.my/public/ As a bonus, you can toggle between the default view Draft KLLP2040 (PTKL2040 in B. Melayu) and the existing KLCP2020 (PBRKL2020). Refer photos "City Planning System" 👇for tips on how to locate details on a particular lot of interest.

3) How will the changes in Draft KLLP2040 affect your neighbourhood? See "Things to look out for" below 👇 List down what will change in your neighbourhood (between KLCP2020 and Draft KLLP2040). Share the changes with your neighbours etc....

4) Do you agree/object to the changes? Send your feedback to: https://ppkl.dbkl.gov.my/e-pandangan/ by Monday, 1 April 2024 (seriously, not joking). Each person has to register for an account and login to lodge feedback on Draft KLLP2040.

5) What happens next? There will be a public hearing session of the feedback...
