MAHSA launches the Bachelor of Sports Science (Honours) Programme & inks MoU with National Sports Institute (ISN), Malaysia
Bandar Saujana Putra, 5 September 2024 – MAHSA University on Thursday launched the Bachelor of Sport Science (Honours) Programme, a new undergraduate degree that is set to draw experts and sports enthusiasts alike in an effort to optimise physical performance and health for athletes for all ages and abilities. This partnership also marks a significant milestone in the advancement of sports science education in Malaysia, offering MAHSA students unparalleled opportunities for elite performance-level practical exposure, research, and internships.
Responding to MAHSA’s initiative, ISN Chairman and CEO Ahmad Faedzal Md Ramli said, “The National Sports Institute Malaysia is excited to collaborate with MAHSA University in advancing sports science education.
This partnership aligns with our mission to foster excellence in sports performance and health sciences. By working together, we can create a dynamic environment for research, innovation, and practical learning that will benefit athletes, students, and professionals alike,” he adds.
Leveraging on the synergistic relationship between MAHSA University and ISN, the launch and MoU aims to be an avenue that benefits students, faculty, athletes, and the broader sports and health sciences communities. It is also expected to pave the way for future collaborative efforts in research, innovation, and the development of high-performance sports practices in Malaysia.
Commenting on this, Senior Director, Academic and Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Nursing and Education Associate Professor Dr Veronica Chua stated, “We are thrilled to partner with The National Sports Institute Malaysia to enhance our Sport Science degree programme. Majlis Perhimpunan Mesra ISN Bilangan 4, 2024 telah berlangsung dengan jayanya di Dewan Perdana, Bukit Jalil, dengan tema Sambutan Bulan Kemerdekaan. Acara tersebut dihadiri oleh seluruh warga Institut Sukan Negara (ISN), yang menyaksikan pelbagai pengumuman dan peringatan penting daripada Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif ISN, En. Ahmad Faedzal bin Md. Ramli.
Dalam ucapannya,l menekankan pentingnya perpaduan dan kesepaduan dalam mencapai prestasi tinggi, seiring dengan tema kemerdekaan yang dibawakan.
Penglibatan ISN di SUKMA XXI Sarawak
Antara intipati utama adalah penglibatan penting ISN dalam Temasya Sukan Malaysia (SUKMA) XXI di Sarawak yang akan berlangsung dari 17 hingga 24 Ogos 2024. ISN, dengan kerjasama Sarawak Sports Corporation.
Program "Knowledge to Application (K2A)" turut diperkenalkan, di bawah inisiatif Program Wanita Dalam Sukan (WDS), yang bertujuan meningkatkan kesedaran mengenai saringan risiko kecederaan. K2A juga menghubungkan tiga industri penting—universiti, industri, dan kerajaan—untuk meningkatkan kesedaran tentang aplikasi sains sukan dalam latihan dan pertandingan.
Persediaan untuk Sukan Paralimpik Paris 2024
Menjelang Temasya Sukan Paralimpik Paris 2024, yang akan berlangsung dari 28 Ogos hingga 8 September 2024, ISN telah membuat persiapan rapi. En. Ahmad Faedzal menekankan peranan penting ISN dalam memastikan prestasi atlet Malaysia dalam 8 jenis sukan berada di tahap tertinggi. Dipimpin oleh Dr. Azril Syazwan bin Mohd Ali, pasukan sains dan perubatan sukan ISN akan bertugas sepanjang temasya ini, dengan harapan agar atlet negara dapat meraih kejayaan cemerlang, termasuk pingat emas.
Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan Ke-67
Perhimpunan ini juga bertepatan dengan Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan ke-67 Malaysia. En. Ahmad Faedzal mengajak seluruh warga ISN untuk bersama-sama menyemai semangat perpaduan dan keharmonian dalam masyarakat, sesuai dengan tema “Jiwa Merdeka”.
Majlis diakhiri dengan sambutan hari lahir warga ISN yang lahir pada bulan tersebut dan penyampaian anugerah pekerja terbaik bulanan sebagai penghargaan atas dedikasi mereka.

Kontinjen Malaysia yang dibarisi oleh 30 atlet luar biasa akan mengibarkan cabaran di Sukan Paralimpik Paris 2024 melibatkan 8 jenis sukan seperti Para Olahraga, Para Berbasikal, Para Badminton, Para Memanah, Boccia, Para Renang, Powerlifting dan Tenis Berkerusi Roda.
Temasya terbesar dunia yang berlangsung di Paris itu akan membuka tirai pada 28 Ogos hingga 8 September 2024.

Team ISN juga mengambil inisiatif menjalankan tinjauan sebagai langkah memberi input kepada atlet dan jurulatih mengenai sukan selamat di samping mempromosi Kursus Sukan Selamat (e-learing) yang disediakan di platform AKK ISN.

The Sports Medicine Department at the National Sports Institute of Malaysia recently hosted a transformative "Train the Trainer" workshop, led by the renowned Paul Haas. This exclusive event brought together sports medicine specialists, physiotherapists, and trainers from various organizations, all eager to enhance their skills in athletic taping and injury prevention.
Participants delved into Strapit’s latest techniques and innovations, with a special emphasis on cutting-edge taping methods that are set to revolutionize injury management and prevention strategies for athletes. The hands-on sessions allowed attendees to master these advanced techniques, empowering them to pass on this knowledge within their own teams and organisations.
Thanks to Paul Haas’s expert guidance, attendees are now equipped to elevate the standard of care provided to athletes across the region.
