Everybody loves to invest and see their money grow (be in the GREEN) so to speak.

We usually invest to grow our wealth, and the most basic investment is to put your money in a fixed deposit. Other investments include money market funds, bonds, mutual funds, equities, FX currencies and cryptocurrencies. Complex investors may opt to even go into derivatives.

We also love to spend and acquire assets, be it a depreciating or an appreciating one.

All these investments corresponds to your main plan in life, a term I call Plan A. It is when all goes smoothly according to your plan.

Have you considered to invest in Plan B, where this plan activates when something goes wrong in your life?

Your investments may not be very liquid and to liquidate them urgently means you may have to let go of them at a discount!

If you have invested at Plan B, your plan A stays as it is, and Plan B supplements your life with a boost of income.

Soalan cepu emas:

Happy Chinese New Year my dear friends!

Have a good time with family and friends!

Yesterday, I had an opportunity to meet a woman who is the sole breadwinner for her family.

She has her parents, her siblings and her nephew to care for and that prompted her to think if anything were to happen to her, how will her family survive?

Hence, we sat down and discussed together on how can this risk be transferred, and I tailor made her a life insurance solution that best meets her needs. She was happy with the solution given and decided to start right away!

See, my role as an insurance advisor specializing in risk management involves making a lot of tough decisions to arrive at the best solution for my clients. The figures are usually assessed thoroughly and solutions derived are usually related to the needs presented when I conduct my analysis at the inception of the meeting with my clients.

If you are a sole breadwinner, and have not thought about protecting your family financially in the unfortunate event of your untimely passing, or falling critically ill, or becoming disabled, its time to engage Edmond Jairus, your friendly insurance advisor ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

We journey in our life at our own pace, but I guess everyone of us kinda share the same statistics on life expectancy.

In short, we are expected to live up to about 80 years old, and a little longer if God gives us the strength. Hence, make each day count, and build good habits and lifestyle.

At the same time, plan your finance well, as you won't be earning income all life long, as given at certain age, you may want to take a break and pursue your hobbies and lifetime desires.

I specialize on preparing you a portfolio that helps bring your dreams closer to being realized and many appreciates the help I have given them.

Its time I help you too.

Today, I am a happy man! Nothing beats satisfaction of helping a person who never knew she can be helped.

See, this client of mine had an old policy purchased when she was a child by her father. Her father had an accident 6 years ago, resulting his lower limb to be amputated, and he was diagnosed as total permanently disabled (TPD).

Now, the family inquired with their old agent if there can be any claims or riders exercised for her policy now that the father is disable, however, the agent told them it is not possible. Since nothing was possible, the father continued paying for the policy using the income he receives from other insurance benefits, since he lost his job after the accident.

Long story short, I was requested to help upgrade her policy and upon reviewing the policy, I noticed that her policy had a Payor Waiver Rider attached. This rider supposedly kicks in if the payor (in this case, her father) either passes on to the next life, becomes TPD, or is diagnosed with any listed critical illness resulting future premiums to be waived until she becomes 25.

I was disappointed to know that their previous agent did not help them claim this benefit as they could have used the premium payment made for other purposes instead. I immediately onboarded the policy under me and completed few forms, ran here and there to get those forms ready for submission, and am super pleased to know that Great Eastern effected the claim as of 2018, right after the incident happened.

Both my client and her family are happy, as the premiums were credited into her cash value, resulting the policy to be valued more than 5 digits!

Moral of the story: Choose a competent agent to serve your insurance needs. Insurance is like an umbrella, where you will only need it for rainy days. It is sad to know that some may already have the umbrella at hand, yet end up getting wet anyways due to lack of knowledge and exposure.

Contact me and I am happy to discuss on helping you plan your financial affairs!

Down with food poisoning since Thursday.. cant really eat much, body was aching, cant walk properly, body was feverish occasionally and I really felt like a person who is not healthy at all.

It begs a question if this was a permanent situation for me.. I would not be able to work normally and this would mean I would lose my job eventually.. Now I am thankful that this is a curable situation, however, if it is a non-curable situation, how would I get my income?

Thankfully, I got myself covered for my income. I am not saying I want to remain that way forever, but if such thing happened, I rather have my income stream coming in while I try to get rest and heal over the long run.

Many of us discount this need, and such event happens, it is too late to get oneself protected.

Moral of the story: Get yourself protected early to ensure your income is hedged.

If you prefer government hospital treatment instead of private care, does that mean you do not need to have a medical plan?

Think again!

Government hospital definitely provides the best service it can given its capacity, however, the number of patients that visit it is a lot. With only limited resources available, they can only do so much.

Recently, I had a client who was having constant headache for weeks as well as stiff neck muscles. The client has tried few alternative solutions such as visiting a chiropractor and taking some pain management medication, however, the situation was only deteriorating over the course of time.

Ultimately, she started displaying some neurological symptoms such as weak or numb arms, hindering her to perform her job to her best capacity.

As she visited a government hospital for diagnosis, the specialist feels it is best she gets an MRI to rule out some illness, including tumor!

Now to get to do an MRI in a government hospital, it can take few months before your turn comes by. Thankfully, she has a medical plan which covers Outpatient MRI/PET scanning up to RM 5,000 per year provided it is medically necessary.

With that benefit at hand, she was able to visit a private healthcare and get the MRI scan done, cost being covered by her insurance provider.

Thankfully, her brain MRI result turns out well, and her spine showed some needs for physiotherapy.

If she didn't have this plan at hand, she might have to bare the full cost of the MRI scan, or worst, wait in the queue for months before her turn comes by.

Friends, always have a back up plan when it comes to your financial affairs. It is worth every penny to get yourself covered earlier before it is too late!

Contact me via whatsapp through the number below or FB messenger and I am happy to share my knowledge to you!

My goal is to ensure everyone is adequately covered financially in the event unforeseen circumstances happen, and my code of ethics is to offer advise according to what BNM's guidelines are.

My dear friends.. are your health insurance or medical plan up to date? Have you done your reviews to ensure it is sustainable in years to come?

I have reviewed some of my prospect's medical plan and was shocked to see them having an old plan that may not be sustainable for years to come.

Let's be frank.. the cost for medical treatment is on the rise and at one point of time, your old medical plan that was created years ago may not be suitable for the long run.

Do yourself a favor and review it if is up to the current plans available in the market. If it is not, consider to upgrade your plan. That will save a lot of trouble in the long run.

Feel free to chat me up and I am happy to share with you as much information and knowledge I know.

Cheers!

What is it?

When it comes to financial planning, insurance planning is a subdivision of the area.

Question is, why is insurance planning important?

Let me share with you 3 points to address its importance in life:

1) Your life matters, and it is without a doubt your family needs you too. You owe it to them to give a better life and having a life insurance plan addresses that NEED to ensure your family lives on both comfortably and DEBT FREE in the event you have to say goodbye earlier.

2) Your health is your real wealth. But in this world we live in, it is wealth we are after at the expense of our health. Insurance planning ensures your financial goals are met even if you have to take a break from work for a prolonged period due to illness. You do not have to worry about any hospital bills for admission as most of them are covered thanks to your planning!

3) Insurance planning is a tool or a safety net that supports you when unforeseen circumstances happen resulting you to be disabled or unable to earn future income due to sickness. Planning to have adequate support is crucial as nothing is certain in life. The certainty we can plan is how much financial damage we can cover when it happens.

It is your financial responsibility to adequately plan for your insurance needs.

I am happy to help plan for you, and all you need to do is either comment or like this post!

Each time a person purchases a new insurance plan, they are subjected to Cooling Off Period for their critical illness plan and medical plan.

So what is exactly a cooling off period, and its purpose?

Cooling off period is a period where you are not allowed to make any claims for the benefits you are entitled for.

It typically ranges from 60 to 120 days from the date a plan is purchased.

The purpose is to protect you and I from something called Moral Hazard.

For example, lets say a person who knows he has a medical issue or cancer has not got any medical or critical illness plan. In order to benefit himself, he hides that fact and purchased a plan.

When he submits a claim within the cooling off period, the company has the rights to deny his claim since it is already stated in the policy. The insurance company may also investigate on when he was diagnosed with this condition, and if found to be earlier than the date he purchased the plan and was not disclosed, the plan may be voided by the company.

If there is no cooling off period, then any claim as of the above may be accidentally approved, and this will be unfair to other policyholders who are paying their premiums. As time progresses, due to increased number of claims, the cost of insurance will increase causing the premiums to increase as well.

Hence, cooling off period is there to prevent this from happening in the best interest of us policyholders.

So as always, be honest with your agent and he/she will be able to guide you to make an informed decision when it comes to purchasing an insurance plan.

Almost 60% of critical illness claims are due from Cancer!

So how does this critical illness cover works for you in the event you need it the most?

In Malaysia, depending on the package you have taken, you may be covered by either 36 or 45 listed illness, and this may be for advance stage only, or a comprehensive one that covers from early to advance stage.

Point to take note is that most companies may have a SURVIVAL PERIOD which means you can only claim after the the number of days from the date you were diagnosed by the disease. For example, a survival period of 7 days means, should you be diagnosed with an illness today, you can only submit your claims after 7 days from today.

A person who has been diagnosed with a critical illness will need to either contact their agent or the company's hotline to submit the medical report and other supporting documents for a claim, and if the report supports the definition of the illness, you will get the payout.

This will help you pay your bills and debts since you may not be able to work as how you were during this testing period.

Hope this information helps!

As always, feel free to chat me up or comment below if you need any information concerning insurance :D

Today I would like to share with you on what is waiver's purpose in an insurance policy.

There are at least ๐Ÿฐ ๐—ธ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ป ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐˜†๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐˜€ and I will explain them as below:

This benefit is often attached with an insurance policy to ensure your policy continues even when you are not able to work or pay your premium when you are diagnosed with advanced critical illness or dread disease, such as stage 4 Cancer or a major heart attack. Once diagnosed and survived within a certain period from the date of diagnosis, you don't have to pay the premium for the policy anymore. Instead, the company continues to pay for your policy to stay in-force while you enjoy the benefits of the policy such as medical plan and others for FREE.

This benefit offers you to get your premium waived in the event you are diagnosed with TPD. Similarly, the company continues to pay for the policy as long as you are alive, and you get to enjoy the benefits of the plan for FREE.

This plan is a combo that protects you from both circumstances and your premium is waived if you are diagnosed with either TPD or Critical Illness. The insurance company continues to pay for your premium and you enjoy FREE protection and benefits from thereon.

I make sure my clients do have this attached to their policy, as you never know what may happen to you in the future, and it is disappointing to know if you are not able to pay or afford the policy when you need it the most. Waivers take care of that worry of your head.

The key is to get prepared as early as you can.

Absolutely useful for Pre-natal, Child and Spouse plan. This waiver benefit takes care of the premium of the person insured when the payor either passes away, or gets diagnosed with critical illness or TPD.

For instance, a father may buy an insurance plan for his child and have this benefit attached in this policy. In the event of an untimely death, or if the father gets diagnosed with any critical illness or TPD, this policy premium will be paid by the company thereafter, and the child will continue to enjoy the benefit until he/she is 25 years old. Then the child continues to pay the premium for the plan if it is required.

The same is applied for Spouse plan, except, the plan remains FREE as long as the policy is sustainable with the premium waived.

Hope this information is useful for you guys.

To those of you who has this question in mind, you may find the below answers helpful to make decision.

Insurance is a form of hedge to uncertainties in life, however, you may want to assess your immediate priorities first.

The general insurance out in the market are as follows:

1) Life Insurance : Provides a sum of money in the event you pass on to the next life or, if you become permanently disabled due to accident or illness. One should consider taking a this plan if he/she is engaged in a high risk occupation or has a family or has liabilities that will interfere with the livelihood of his/her family in the event of untimely death.

2) Critical Illness Illness: Provides a sum of money in the event of illness diagnosis. There are many forms of critical illness out there, and it may result you to either pass away or survive with prolonged illness, interfering with work. Everyone should have at least some financial protection on critical illness as life still goes on even if you are sick and unable to work. You will still need to eat and pay the bills.

3) Medical Insurance: Pays your hospitalization bills incurred when admitted at hospital. If a person is admitted into a government hospital or a private hospital, they will still need to incur bills to pay, although government hospital is subsidized. For that subsidization, you may need to sacrifice promptness on treatment and wait over a long queue, compared to private healthcare that provides faster service with a premium cost. Having a medical plan helps provide that facility for you and should be your first priority to take if possible, unless you intend to work with a company that provides you a corporate medical plan forever without changing jobs until you are 60. Even then, after 60 years old, you will be left without medical protection, and the cost to get one would be a bomb. Hence, get it when you are younger. It is cheaper, and provides tax relief too.

With these summary of each type of plan available, I hope you get to make an informed decision on what is your priority in life.

If you need further advise, comment below or DM me, and I will be happy to help you make the right choice based on my free financial needs analysis.

Cheers!

The government allows us to claim up to a maximum RM 1,000 for a complete medical examination for self, spouse and your child as defined by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).

However, what is the definition?

According to LHDN, a full medical checkup needs to include the below:

1) Physical examination such as eye, ear, nose, throat, neck,
chest, heart, breast, abdomen, hand, foot, weight examination,
blood pressure;

2) Blood and urine test; and

3) discussion with the physician conducting the test on the results
of the examination.

Any basic screening with x-ray or ultrasound check will not qualify according to these definitions.

Hence, be sure to do a check up that qualifies with the definition listed.

I did found the below 2 packages to fit the description provided by LHDN.

Do call them and confirm before proceeding to do one!

1) Sunway Medical Men's or Women's Health Screening Package:

The answer is YES, if you do have Critical Illness rider attached together with your life insurance package.

However, you must check if the critical illness rider is a comprehensive one or the one that just covers advance stage only. If it is the later, the cancer diagnosed must meet the below definition in order to be eligible for a claim:

On the side note, a comprehensive one will cover diagnosis of CIS (Carcinoma in situ) that is malignant and offer some form of compensation as well.

Good life insurance planners always strive to think from all angles and try to protect their clients as much as they can. Hence, please check with your planners to know what cover you do have for your life insurance.

I personally ensure most of my clients who can afford few extra bucks to add this in their insurance arsenal as there is no telling when they will need to use it.

Follow the below steps and I can guarantee you that you will be productive!

Top 3 Reasons why you should GET a prenatal plan for your child.

Reason 1:

Your child is financially covered in the event he/she needs to be admitted into the hospital due to any complications or future illness that cannot be predicted even before he/she is delivered as he/she already have a medical plan.

Reason 2:

As a mother, you are also covered financially in the event you are diagnosed with any pregnancy related complications or illness. This cover can last up to 30 days after delivery and can be extremely useful in the event you have to be in hospital longer than you expected.

Reason 3:

In the event if a child is born with congenital illness, the child will be able to claim for the cost incurred for the treatment up to certain age. Typically, a child with congenital illness or condition cannot apply for a medical plan in the early year, however, since he/she already has it even before birth, he/she is entitle to use for other illnesses that are covered just as a normal child.

Chat or contact me to know more on how to plan a prenatal plan for your child.

3 Fundamental Reason WHY you need Health Insurance!

1) You may have taken care of your health so well, yet you never know if you may be diagnosed with some disease or illness that will require an admission into a hospital. Having health insurance ensures you get the necessary treatment without you needing to worry about the cost that you need to pay for.

2) The best time to sign up for a health insurance is when you are healthy. When you are already unwell, it is too late to sign up for one as all insurers will shut their doors on you, as you are deemed to be a sub-standard case and the insurer will surely experience high number of claims from you.

3) Health insurance plays a part of getting a bank approval for your loan. The bank wants to know if you will still have the means to pay for your installment should you be admitted in a hospital. Health insurance will ensure your savings will not be touched, and hence, this is translated as better credit standing for yourself.

Today, I would like to share with all of you on a term called Indisputability or Non-Contestability Clause which you can often check in your life insurance contract.

This period usually ranges from 1 to 2 years from the policy in-forced date, depending on the insurance company that issued the policy.

So what does it mean, and how significant it is for a policy owner?

It simply means, an insurance company cannot dispute or challenge any claims made by you after that 1 to 2 years stipulated in your contract has passed should they find any misrepresentation of fact, and they have to honor your claim, unless they can find evidence that fraud was involved, in which you policy may become void.

However, if any claims occur within that period, the company may choose to investigate if the claims are valid or vice versa, and honor the claim upon finalizing their investigation. If any misrepresentation of fact is found, your policy can be voided.

This clause is also there to prevent moral hazard from clients, which in its absence, may increase the cost of insurance and directly result premium charges to increase as well.

What are the scenarios that can consider you to claim for a TPD benefit?

Here are 3 common scenarios that may be eligible for claim subject to the medical report produced by a doctor.

When you are not around for your family, they are not only emotionally devastated. They are deprived from your ability to provide them financial security, which means, hard time ensuring roof on the head, food on the table and clothes on their body. Your spouse may have to work extra hard if you have children who are still young or schooling. Getting a life insurance ensures your spouse and children to live on their life without much financial burden. It is part of your responsibility to leave them enough in case if you have to pass on to the next life prematurely.

2) You ensure you are covered for total permanent disability too!

In life, planning to be permanently disable is not even in our bucket list. Yet such things happen, especially as we tend to be older. You may be disable due to accident or disease such as Parkinson or Alzheimer. In the event such thing happens, know that your life insurance will come to aid by paying you out the money your life is insured with. Why would they do that? Because when you are disabled, you may not be able to work as you used to anymore and therefore, lost your ability to generate income for yourself.

3) You leave an inheritance for your children.

Life insurance can be used as an instrument to build wealth if you plan it well. If there is one certainty in life, it is that all of us will die eventually, however, we do not know when it will happen. Planning for a life insurance will enable you to leave an inheritance to your children and family in your untimely departure, and they can use it to upgrade their lifestyle and live on comfortable, thanks to your planning on this area.
