3-4 October 2017 // Think City Penang // -The Malay Archipelago Archaeology Conference is organised by the Centre for Global Archaeological Research, Universiti Sains Malaysia with a particular interest on malay archipelago archaeology.

Malay Archipelago Archaeology Conference aims to bring together scholars in the fields of prehistorical malay archipelago, archaeozoology, historical malay archipelago, ethnoarchaeology, heritage management, archaeotourism, linguistics, maritime archaeology and archaeological sciences, to discuss and offer inputs into existing and contemporary archaeological issues in malay archipelago.

And it's a wrap! Thank you all for making this conference a success! We hope that you have benefitted from the various discussions and made some valuable networks. Safe journey home everyone, and stay tuned for updates on photos from the conference!

Conference Venue

The conference venue is in Bangunan UAB, which is located at the junction of G*t Lebuh China and Lebuh Victoria. This Art Deco building-turned-event space was built in the 1930s and used to house the Indian Overseas Bank, which is now owned by Khazanah Nasional. There are two event halls on the ground floor and a multipurpose hall on the first floor.
