Thank you to everyone who ordered our Foursome Tasting Platter. Unfortunately, we've come to the end of season for D101 and D88, with just a few biji of drops daily. To avoid disappointment, we have discontinued D101 and D88. We are now left with just Musang King and Tekka. Order them today before the season ends!

Green Skin Durian originated from Penang and currently, can only be obtained from Penang. Many customers have never tried Green Skin. Its taste is quite similar to Mas Selangor. The flesh is creamy with little fibre. The taste is fruity with hints of lychee/longan and it is very sweet with little to no bitterness.

D88 is also known as Durian Darling or Bangkok 8. Just like it's name, this durian is pretty cute & sweet. The pulps are fleshy and plump, gr***de sized with fibrous texture. It is one of the milder durian breeds. For those who are purchasing our durian tasting platter, start with D88 first because the taste is lighter. Our D88 durians come from a small family-run organic and pesticide free farm in Ulu Yam. D88 is heading towards the tail-end of the season and will probably end within a week or so.

Mesta, also known as Japanese Mangosteen or Crystal Mangosteen, originated from Temerloh (according to FAMA). It has a very thick mesocarp and pointy bottom with only 1 to 2 seeds, making it relatively seedless. The taste of Mesta is like a mixture of peach, pear and banana but in terms of taste, Mesta is just as juicy and fibrous but less sugary compared to normal mangosteen. DM to place your order.

What makes a good Black Thorn? Make sure that they come from old trees in Penang, with a more pungent aroma and taste. It should be super soft, totally ripe and non-fibrous flesh that just melts in your mouth. Unlike other durians, you have to eat it slowly to savour its complex taste.

It is a fairly new clone that was planted in a large commercial scale in the early 2000s. Heng's Serene Orchard in Sg Bakap Penang is Malaysia's biggest producer of Black Thorn with close to 6,000 trees.

Tekka, also known as Musang QUEEN and Chuk Kiok is known for its thick husk and being the most difficult durian to cut open! Initially, we didn’t think it was necessary to post anything about the aid that we’re handing out. After all, what we’re giving is just a small amount compared to all the countless volunteers, foundations and organisations who have been doing this for so long.

However, if we don’t post anything, some customers think we’re just taking advantage of this situation to increase sales since we’ve published on our adverts that every RM2/box of durians goes to charity. So, for accountability, we will give an update.

Big thanks to Rachel who is coordinating this together with her cell group members. She is liaising with Abdah from PPR in Kota Damansara Seksyen 8 who will help to organize the distribution of aid. Abdah has a list of families, each with serial numbers. From this list, she knows how many members are there in each family and the no. of children with their age. She can track who has received and to ensure everyone gets a fair share of aid. She has requested for milk formula for children aged 1 to 6 years old. Our budget only allows us to help 40 households this round.

經過Rachel轉發給我們的信息，在Kota Damansara地區一個命名為PPR的團體急需要資助。這個社區有1000多戶家庭，由Mr Abdah所提供的信息中有些家庭缺乏嬰兒奶粉和糧食。

在我們承若以每一盒售出的榴蓮將以RM2捐獻給非政府組織和團體，第一筆款項RM1399.65以購買物資方式捐贈於PPR。共資助40戶分別育有1歲到6的家庭，當然我們能幫到的只是冰山一角但是我們相信這40戶有小孩家庭暫時可以安然。

Today, our big boss had a business discussion with another big boss from famous Black Thorn farm. Now, Black Thorn start of season. Sambil meeting, sambil makan durian kayangan. Today's price RM90/kg x 4.38kg = RM394 for 1 biji. Memang durian kayangan ah.

So we asked boss "Boss... will you bring back Black Thorn for us to makan tmrw."

Boss replied.. "No-lah. Aiyah... Not worth eating la."

So we told boss.. "Like that ah, then we also no need to sell Black Thorn lo. Then you go to their farm for what?"

Umm.. So don't ask us if we got sell Black Thorn or not. Boss said not worth eating. But can pre-order la if you really die die want to try. From Ah Heng farm in Penang.

Malaysian Breakfast during Durian Season! 70% of voters had voted 𝙔𝙐𝘾𝙆𝙎 to this!! Hahaha.. Why so many haters for durian with Nasi Lemak. Tak sedap ke? Belum cuba belum tau. That's how our parents used to eat when we were young. Durian kampung + nasi putih. Now we've upgraded to Musang King. 😋😋😋😋

With the indefinite extension of lock down, Malaysians are tired, helpless and coming to their wits end, drained and down to their last cent. We give not because we have more but because we know how it feels to lose almost everything. As business owners who had to pivot from event management to durians since 2020, we understand how difficult it is to survive under such a bleak economic climate. Now that we’re slightly out of the red, we want to pay it forward by helping the ones who are less fortunate.

Being able to afford to eat durians now is a luxury for the privileged. Let’s pay with forward with just a little kindness to the ones who can barely put food on the table for their families. We will set aside RM2 from every box and every KG of durians sold to be channeled to food aid and/or essential supplies. We will also add on any additional funds required from our end for this purpose.

It is ok to ask for help.
It is not a shame to ask for help and live another day.

1) Size is small, less than 1kg.
2) Odd shape. That means it doesn't have 5 compartments. That equals to very few pulps. Sometimes you can open the whole fruit and totally empty inside.
3) Bitten by squirrel or has a hole or has worms. Even if a Musang King has a perfectly shaped Grade A, it is instantly classified to Grade C once it has a hole.

However, we always felt that Grade C fruit has a stronger bitterness. You know what some farmers say, if a squirrel picks that fruit, it must be the best tasting one. It is OK to purchase Grade C as long as you are paying for a Grade C price and not a Grade A price.

Haiya... we get so many questions everyday about how many biji of seeds inside 1 fruit so today on WANGI'S KNOW YOUR DURIAN SEGMENT, we opened 1 leftover D13 GOLDEN BUN to show you!

D13 is golden yellow in colour, round-ish like a bun, hence the name "Golden Bun". Lemak manis, sedikit pahit, very soft and less fibrous with big seeds. Some call D13 as Johor's Red Prawn due to its similarities in husk and flesh with Penang's Red Prawn (Ang Hee).

D13 is a Johor clone and is available from the start and throughout the season whereas Red Prawn Durians from Penang are usually available towards end of durian season. Red Prawn Durians are sweeter with mild bitterness.

So back to this D13. At 1.6kg fruit, there are 8 biji of pulps inside. We even ate the durian (on your behalf) for you to see the seeds .... ! haha..

Many Malaysians have not heard of this clone because they are mostly exported to Singapore from Johor. However, this season will see a surplus of southern durians due to the difficulty in exporting durians to Singapore.
