We had announced the permanent closure of koro koro on July 10 and would like to give more details on why we closed so abruptly.

With the drastic increase in numbers and announcement of EMCO end of June, we requested an extension of time to make the rental payment for the second half of June and if we could have some flexibility given our current financial situation. Instead, the landlord berated us and reinstated our rent to the full amount in July.

It is of course within his right to do this so we informed him that we will let him know on Monday (July 12) if we are able to continue with the tenancy. Instead of responding to our message, he and his wife showed up at the cafe on Friday (July 9) and started shouting and harassing our customers and staff in their attempt to force us to pay up our rent. They also refused to leave the premises despite the EMCO SOP and stood in front of the shop telling passers-by not to give us business. As such, we had no choice but to close for the day. Throughout this incident, the property agent was present and did nothing other than to provoke further tension between us and the landlord.

The next day, we were served with a notice of termination by our landlord who gave us only 5 days to vacate the premises despite the 14 day notice period ("Notice Period") that was stipulated in our tenancy agreement.

We decided it was best to cease operations immediately as we did not wish to risk continuous harassment to our staff and customers and chose to wait until we could secure our belongings before we tell the full story.

We do not wish to blame or point fingers at anyone because it is a fact that the pandemic has severely affected our sales. We just wish we were given the opportunity to serve and say our goodbyes to everyone.

We are searching for an engaging, courteous Barista who is passionate about food and beverage preparation and education. The Barista will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders and accept payments, and prepare and serve food and drinks. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace and dining area, update displays, and continuously expand your knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation.

To succeed as a barista, you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service. You should be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite.

We are searching for an organized, energetic person to join our team. Koro koro kitchen crew are responsible for storing ingredients and assisting with food preparation. You should also ensure that the kitchen and storage areas remain clean at all times.

To be successful as part of the kitchen crew, you should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask without sacrificing accuracy in your work. Top-notch candidates will be able to perform well within a fast-paced environment.
