MohBad Was Brought In Dead, Didn't Die In Our Facility, Lagos Hospital Releases Statement

Perez Medcare Hospital, where singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka MohBad was allegedly taken to, has released a statement concerning the singer's death.

In the statement shared on its Instagram page on Monday night, the hospital stated that the singer was brought in dead at the hospital.

The hospital also debunked rumours that the singer was admitted into the hospital.

The statement partly read, "The attention of the management of Perez Medcare Hospital has been drawn to the misleading and false information being circulated in some social media platforms that Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mobbed) died in our medical facility.

"We consider it pertinent to put on record that at about 04:30pm on the 12th of September 2023, the lifeless body of Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was brought to our medical facility and our medical team immediately sprang into action and after assessment, it was discovered that there was no sign of life, no central or peripheral pulse, no heartbeat, no recordable vital signs and his pupils were fixed and dilated.

"On attempting CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), rigor mortis (stiffening of some parts of the body in relation to death) was observed and the persons who brought him to our facility were informed that it was a case of BID (Brought in dead).

"Upon enquiry about the circumstances leading to the emergency, our team was informed that the deceased was being treated at home by a nurse and that she administered injections on him.

"Our team thereafter advised that the body be taken to the nearest Government Hospital where he can be deposited in the morgue.

"Let it be known that Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was not a patient of Perez Medcare Hospital and was never admitted at our hospital at any material time whatsoever.

"Also, the nurse who was said to be administering treatment on him at home is not a staff of Perez Medcare Hospital and the video of the medical facility circulating In the media space in which the late Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) is seen alive and receiving treatment is not Perez Medcare Hospital."

Mohbad: Lagos Police Reacts To Narratives Over Crowd Dispersal At Lekki Toll Gate.

The Lagos State Police Command has reacted to the "false" narratives around the dispersal of crowds at the candlelight procession in honour of the late singer, Mohbad on Thursday, September 2023 at the Lekki tollgate.

The police said the command had an agreement with the organizers of the candlelight procession that the procession was to end at 8 pm latest and should terminate at Muri Okunola, Victoria Island.

In a strongly-worded statement issued on Friday morning by the police Spokesman in the state, Benjamin Hundeyin, the police said it was clearly stated for the avoidance of doubt that in the interest of all Lagosians and considering the heavy use of the Lekki-Epe Expressway, the Lekki Toll Gate would be a no-go area.

Nigerian Rapper, Mohbad’s Father Wanted To Bury Him At Midnight On Same Day He D!ed But I Stopped Them – Ikorodu Community Chief

The Baale of Ikorodu, who is also the Chairman of the Lagos Landlords Association, has narrated how Joseph Aloba, the father of late fast-rising musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba nicknamed Mohbad, attempted to bury him at midnight of the same day he died.

A number of allegations have trailed the 27-year-old musician's murder, resulting into police extensive investigations and protests across three states by youths who were demanding justice for his death.

Mohbad died last Tuesday after apparently receiving injections for an ear infection and was buried the next day in Ikorodu, Lagos.

Many people were surprised by the sudden burial because the singer was not a Muslim.

According to a widely circulated video, the chief was initially contacted by Mohbad's father to inform him that the body would be brought for burial at midnight, but he refused, stating that the late songwriter could not be laid to rest at midnight on the same day of his death.

The Baale, who spoke Yoruba, answered to queries posed by a lady in the background.

“They wanted to bring him at midnight. His father called and informed me that they were coming with his remains for burial, I told him that the late singer could not be buried in the midnight of that same day he died,” he said.

Since the singer's passing, tributes from colleagues and admirers have continued to flow in via social media sites.

Sanwo-Olu Invites DSS To Join MohBad Probe

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has invited the Department of State Services to join the state police command in probing the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka MohBad.

This was contained in a statement released Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Gboyega Akosile.

"The Lagos State Government has noted the developments that have followed the death of music star Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (aka MohBad).

"Following Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive, the Police in Lagos State have launched a major investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the young star. A 19-man police panel has been asked to unravel the mystery of the musician’s death.

"Further to this and to boost the investigation, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has invited the Department of State Services to join the investigation and widen the dragnet with inter-agency collaboration and use of best in class technology to unearth the truth.

"Mr. Sanwo-Olu has directed that all those who may have played any role whatsoever in any event leading to the death of MohBad be made to face the law after a thorough investigation," the statement read in part.

This development is coming hours after the Lagos State Police Command set up a 13-man special investigation team to probe the late singer's death.

MohBad died on Monday, September 11, at the age of 27.

Friends mourn as its revealed that FRSC officer crushed to dëäth in Orile recently welcomed a child

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) official who was crushed to death in Orile has been identified as Abiodun Ajomole.

The father-of-three was squeezed to death by a trailer on Saturday, Sept. 16, as he attended to a bus he flagged down at Orile bus stop, Lagos State.

According to reports, Ajomole welcomed his third child with his wife just two months ago.

In a statement on Sunday, the spokeswoman of the FRSC in Lagos State, Olabisi Sonusi, said, “The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Lagos State Sector Command wishes to confirm that the crash video being circulated on social media involves one of the personnel of the Corps, Marshal Abiodun Ajomole of the Costain Unit Command, who was attending to a vehicle when a Mack truck lost control and rammed into him. The immediate cause of the crash was brake failure.

“The incident occurred around Orile/Iganmu Bridge, where the team led by DRC MT KPASSU was carrying out scheduled patrol activities when the unfortunate incident occurred at about 1420 hrs on Saturday, September 16, 2023.”

Sonusi added: “Investigations carried out so far indicated that the affected Marshal was attending to an LT Volkswagen bus with registration number AKD 108 XY blue colour when a Mack truck with no number plate attached failed to brake and rammed into the LT Volkswagen the Marshal was attending to.

“This forcefully crashed the LT bus and caused the LT Bus to ram the Marshal against a stationary Matrix tanker by the roadside, thereby squeezing him to death.”

She continued: “The Orile Police Division, which was immediately notified of the incident, mobilised its personnel while the LASTMA officials equally rushed to the scene for rescue operations.”

“The three (3) vehicles involved in the crash have been towed to Oril Iganmu police division, while the remains of the Marshal have been deposited at the Yaba mortuary,” Sonusi said.

The Police are making efforts to track down the driver of the Mack truck who was responsible for the crash.

The Sector Commander, Lagos State, Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye, while commiserating with the family of the deceased, prayed to God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Almost Every Young Person In Sagamu Is A Cultist, Force PRO Claims

The Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said that almost every young person in Sagamu, Ogun state, is a cultist.

This was contained in an X post shared on Sunday.

"In Sagamu, almost every young person is a cultist. Okada riders, artisans, etc., are into cultism even more than students, and I think the whole town and Remoland, in general, should take action on it," he wrote.

Adejobi's tweet came hours after PUNCH Online reported the death of some persons in the Ijagba Sagamu area of Ogun State on Sunday by yet-to-be-identified cultists.

On why he generalised in his initial tweet, Adejobi said, "I am an authority on Sagamu cases. Ask them if they know me. No one from Sagamu can dispute what I've said. So don't worry about my statement, even the elders and Sagamites know."

The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has said that the aides to Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Oba of Elegushi, have both called the state police command to distance themselves from Sam Larry and Naira Marley, who have been accused of having a hand in the death of singer, Mohbad.

Following Mohbad’s death last Tuesday, September 12, photos of Sam Larry and Naira Marley with the governor and the monarch surfaced online.

In a petition he wrote to the police in June, late Mohbad had stated that Sam Larry assaulted him and claimed he works with Oba Elegushi, so nothing would happen to him for assaulting the singer.

The monarch has since released a statement distancing himself from Sam Larry.

On Saturday, September 16, Tonto Dikeh via her Instageam page called out Governor Sanwo-Olu and demanded that he comes out to clarify his association with Sam Larry and Naira Marley. According to her, there are reports that both men work for the governor. Read here.

In an interview with TVC this morning September 18, Hundeyin said the governor has pledged his support towards the investigation.

‘’On Friday, I received a call from one of the Special Advisers to the governor and he was telling me ‘Mr Ben, that we do not know him. Don’t even have the idea that he is our boy. We do not know him. He disowned this particular name that has been all over the media and the governor too calling. I can say this that Oba Elegushi called to say see ‘I do not know this person. Go ahead and do your investigation’'

President Tinubu Appoints Dr Olayemi Cardoso As Central Bank Governor, Four Others As Deputy Governors

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso to serve as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending his confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.

According to a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity) on Friday, the president also nominated four new Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.

The full release reads, “President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso to serve as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending his confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.

“This directive is in conformity with Section 8 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which vests in the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the authority to appoint the Governor and Four (4) Deputy Governors for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), subject to confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Thursday, decorated four newly promoted Deputy Inspectors General of Police at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has reacted to the presidential election petition tribunal judgment, which upheld the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the election.

The five-man panel of the tribunal, on Wednesday, September 6, dismissed the petitions filed by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, and that of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for lack of merit.

Reacting in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele said that only God can help PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi to become president of Nigeria.

The prophet revealed that he had warned both Atiku and Obi to be careful of the “Emilokan” syndrome, which he said is an advanced spiritual enchantment. However, he said that they did not listen to his warning and took it with levity.

“Only God can help Obi and Atiku politically,” Primate Ayodele said. “Atiku is playing his last politics and Peter Obi will not be Nigeria’s president even in the next dispensation, it won’t even go to the Igbos.”

He added that the two politicians had everything they needed to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, but they did not listen to his instructions and warnings.

“They had everything needed to defeat the ruling party, I warned them, gave them instructions but they didn’t listen,” Primate Ayodele said. “I warned them repeatedly about APC’s gimmicks but they rejected every warning. If they had listened, it would have been an easy ride to victory during the election but now, it’s almost impossible to recover any mandate.”

Peter Obi lost at the election tribunal in his petition against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's victory. The tribunal had upheld Tinubu's victory, but Peter Obi rejected the tribunal's judgement, and vowed to take the case up to the Supreme Court.
