Anxiety is a human emotion that everyone experiences but few overcome. Tyron Edwards described it this way: “Anxiety is the rust of life, destroying its brightness and weakening its power.” Unless you find a solution, anxiety will rob you of your joy again and again.

Your anxiety might be caused by looking back at what was or by worrying that something bad will happen in the future. Either way, anxiety can’t add a single hour to your life, and it may well rob you of years of happy living.

THERE IS A SOLUTION TO ANXIETY.

It comes from understanding that you are made by God’s design and that He has a plan for your life. He offers you both hope and a future. God’s solution to your anxiety came through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus came to earth and lived among us. He understood our anxiety and He felt compassion for us to the point that He bore the pain of all of our failures and worries to the cross of Calvary. He now offers us a new life that can be filled with the joy of living instead of the anxiety of failing.

When you allow God to work in your life, He helps you to see how incredibly valuable you are to Him. He offers guidance and direction that settles doubt and leaves little room for anxiety. Knowing Christ can bring you the peace that you have always longed for but hardly dared to believe would come.

Anxiety may try to control you once again, but knowing God gives you the right to tell Jesus about the frustration and worry that you feel. Being a faithful friend, He can walk with you during the hard times, offering the kind of hope that no one can take away.

IT ALL BEGINS WITH A PRAYER:

“Dear Jesus, I am sorry for the wrong things I have done. I am tired of fighting my anxiety on my own. I need Your help to overcome my fear and frustration. Please give me new life. Help me to live life without anxiety. In Your name I pray, Amen!”

If you prayed that prayer, please comment below by saying“Yes, I prayed the prayer.” We will contact you soon.

HOW TO DEAL WITH ANXIETY
Life has a way of creating anxious moments. It might be waiting for the results of an exam. It might come from rumors of layoffs at work. It could be as simple as your pay check will not getting you through the month.

THE ROOT OF ANXIETY

My wife and I once felt anxiety like this. We desperately wanted to have children. We had been married for four years before our first daughter was born. We wanted another child and were excited that my wife was pregnant again.

Unfortunately, something went wrong and she endured a miscarriage. More miscarriages followed. Soon we were not excited about pregnancy. We felt anxious, afraid and overwhelmed each time she became pregnant. That anxiety crept into every area of our lives.

Life creates many anxious moments. But when the pressures of life continually increase, you may feel anxious all of the time. The pressure can be so great that you wonder if you will be able to carry the load of anxiety even one step further.

THERE IS HOPE!

You can find relief from the anxiety that controls you. It may not be easy to see right now, but anxiety does not need to rule your life. My wife and I brought our fears and concerns to God. Jesus Christ gave us peace. In the Bible, the Apostle Peter gives those of us who battle anxiety great hope. He tells us, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you,” (1 Peter 5:7, New International Version).

Knowing that God cares for us and that He can lift us out of our anxiety is life-changing. My wife and I learned to bring our worries and fears to Jesus each day. When she became pregnant again, we brought our anxieties to Jesus every time they arose. Before long, our first son was born, healthy and full of life! Best of all, because we brought our anxiety to Jesus, You can overcome anxiety.

You can overcome anxiety. Begin by taking your problems to Jesus knowing that He cares for you. Ask Him to become Lord of your life and take away the pain of wrong decisions. Ask Him for new life and to help you live without fear. It may take time, but remember that Jesus loves you and can help you live without anxiety.

PRAY WITH ME:

Dear Jesus, I feel so anxious about my life. I am tired of thinking about everything going wrong. I need to change the way I live and think. Please forgive me for the wrong things I have done. I want You to be My Lord and Savior. Help me make a new start in life. Please take my anxiety and help me discover peace that comes from knowing You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

If you prayed that prayer, pLEASE do link us up on +2349051395544” or drop your comments below. We would love to know more about your story. God bless and keep you, Amen.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellences of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.“ – 1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
We are a Chosen Race
A one-legged school teacher from Scotland came to J. Hudson Taylor to offer himself for service in China. “With only one leg, why do you think of going as a missionary?” Asked Taylor.
“I do not see those with two legs going,” replied George Scott. He was accepted. – Pillar of Fire, January First, 1983.
This opening illustration is a reminder that no matter what our physical condition we are still a chosen people. The only qualification for service is that we are believers. Believers are a “chosen people,” we are a people who belong to God because we have been elected, chosen by him for a divine purpose.
The privilege of belonging is conveyed in our identity
Peter describes us as “a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession.”
“In Exodus, the title applies to Israel, with whom God enacts his covenant at Sinai. Israel’s priesthood was such that they were to mirror to the nations the glory of Yahweh, so that all nations would see that no god rivals the Lord (cf. also Isa 61:6). Unfortunately, Israel mainly failed in this endeavor as the Assyrian (722 b.c.), and Babylonian (586 b.c.) exiles demonstrate. The reason for the exile is that Israel failed to keep God’s law. Now God’s kingdom of priests consists of the church of Jesus Christ. It too is to mediate God’s blessings to the nations, as it proclaims the gospel.” [1]
What makes this priesthood special is that no one can be a priest alone. A priest is connected to someone. In the case of the believer, our connection is to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are not replacing the one who gave His life as a ransom for our sins. Instead, we are called to share that message to a lost and dying world.
Jesus Christ is the priest before God. It is He who offers up the sacrifice of Himself for our sake, and thankfully in our place. As a priest he does for us what we could never accomplish for ourselves, He stands in our place before the high court of God. He hears the charges read against Him and takes the punishment due us and then turns to us after the sentencing and declares us not guilty. By Jesus’ priestly sacrifice we are priests. We live by the forgiveness that delivers us from the powers of sin, death, the devil, and the Law. We are living sacrifices whose lives are poured out in sacrifice to Him where He has put Himself to receive the sacrifice of our lives, that is our neighbor in his need.
What Have We Been Chosen to Do?
Because we have been called “ek” (the Greek verb in the text) which means “out” or “abroad” of darkness we have a been set apart for a divine purpose. Our love for God and our confession compel us to go out into the world and “… proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
Lenski in his great commentary said, “True believers cannot keep still, they simply must speak out with lip and with life. Thus, they function as a royal priesthood and ever offer up sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving. This is the confessional and the missionary spirit and activity of God’s people; for the sake of this God lets us remain in the world .” [2]
God left a royal priesthood behind to be a light that shines brightly in the darkness. Be what God has chosen and redeemed you to be .

Greater Is He That Is In Me: The Real Meaning of 1 John 4:4
“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” — 1 John 4:4, ESV
The Catchphrase
This passage of scripture is one of the most popularly quoted among Christians — right up there with John 3:16 (“God so loved the world”), 1 Timothy 1:7 (“God has not given us a spirit of fear”), and
Romans 10:9 (“confess with your mouth”). It is a motivational verse for fearless living. Whether its dealing with a bad boss, an unfaithful friend, a critic, or with some unmet life goal, this verse is used to encourage Christians that they can overcome any perceived obstacle in their life.
What many fail to realize is that the writer John has a very specific purpose in mind for this statement that has nothing to do with bad bosses, unfaithful friends, or life dreams. Rather, John’s goal is to assure his readers that they have overcome the false prophets he introduces in verse 1: “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
It’s frustrating that Christians who quote 1 John 4:4 almost never mention it within the context of dealing with false teachers. In fact, many false teachers themselves use this very verse to support their
health and wealth prosperity gospel. It is used as a motivational instrument to encourage people to have the courage to chase their own dreams and desires.
That’s probably why you’ll find it on coffee mugs and bookmarks, mouse pads and t-shirts in every Christian store and coffee shop. Many popular Christian songs include the verse in their lyrics, not to mention in top selling devotionals. To many Christians, 1 John 4:4 is just another in a line of marketable catchphrases.

Have You Made the Wonderful Discovery of the Spirit-Filled Life?
by Dr. Bill Bright. – The following is taken from a booklet written called ‘How to be Filled with the Holy Spirit’. It explains how Christians can live their Christian lives with fulfillment and not become defeated by sin.
Every day can be an exciting adventure for the Christian who knows the reality of being filled with the Holy Spirit and who lives constantly, moment by moment, under His gracious direction.
The Bible tells us that there are three kinds of people.
1. Natural Man
(one who has not received Christ)
“ A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised ” (1 Corinthians 2:14).
2. Spiritual Man
(One who is directed and empowered by the Holy Spirit)
“ He who is spiritual appraises all things…We have the mind of Christ ” (1 Corinthians 2:15)
3. Carnal Man
(One who has received Christ, but who lives in defeat because he is trying to live the Christian life in his own strength)
“ And I brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to carnal men, as to babes in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still carnal. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshy, and are you not walking like mere men?”
(1 Corinthians 3:1-3).
God has Provided for Us an Abundant and Fruitful Christian Life
Jesus said, “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” (John 10:10).
“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22, 23).
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
“ I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly ” (John 10:10).” I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing ” (John 15:5).” But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22, 23).” But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth ” (Acts 1:8).
The Spiritual Person
Some spiritual traits which result from trusting God:
TRAITS
The degree to which these traits are manifested in the life depends upon the extent to which the Christian trusts the Lord with every detail of his life, and upon his maturity in Christ. One who is only beginning to understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit should not be discouraged if he is not as fruitful as more mature Christians who have known and experienced this truth for a longer period.
Why is it that most Christians are not experiencing the abundant life?
Carnal Christians cannot experience the Abundant and Fruitful Christian Life
The carnal man trusts in his own efforts to live the Christian life:
1. He is either uninformed about, or has forgotten, God’s love, forgiveness, and power (Romans 5:8-10; Hebrews 10:1-25; 1 John 1; 2:1-3; 2 Peter 1:9; Acts 1:8).
2. He has an up-and-down spiritual experience.
3. He cannot understand himself – he wants to do what is right, but cannot.
4. He fails to draw upon the power of the Holy Spirit to live the Christian life. (1 Corinthians 3:1-3; Romans 7:15-24; 8:7; Galatians 5:16-18)
The Carnal Person
Some or all of the following traits may characterize the Christian who does not fully trust God:
TRAITS
(The individual who professes to be a Christian but who continues to practice sin should realize that he may not be a Christian at all, according to 1 John 2:3; 3:6, 9; Ephesians 5:5).
The third truth gives us the only solution to this problem…
Jesus Promised the Abundant and Fruitful Life as the result of
being filled (directed and empowered) by the Holy Spirit
The Spirit-filled life is the Christ-directed life by which Christ lives His life in and through us in the power of the Holy Spirit (John 15).
1. One becomes a Christian through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, according to John 3:1-8. From the moment of spiritual birth, the Christian is indwelt by the Holy Spirit at all times (John 1:12; Colossians 2:9, 10; John 14:16, 17).Though all Christians are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, not all Christians are filled (directed and empowered) by the Holy Spirit.
2. The Holy Spirit is the source of the overflowing life (John 7:37-39).
3. The Holy Spirit came to glorify Christ (John 16:1-15). When one is filled with the Holy Spirit, he is a true disciple of Christ.
4. In His last command before His ascension, Christ promised the power of the Holy Spirit to enable us to be witnesses for Him (Acts 1:1-9).
How, then, can one be filled with the Holy Spirit?
We are filled by the Holy Spirit by faith; then we can experience the abundant and fruitful life which Christ promised to each Christian
You can appropriate the filling of the Holy Spirit right now if you:
1. Sincerely desire to be directed and empowered by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 5:6; John 7:37-39).
2. Confess your sins. By faith thank God that He has forgiven all of your sins – past, present and future – because Christ died for you (Colossians 2:13-15; 1 John 1; 2:1-3; Hebrews 10:1-17).
3. Present every area of your life to God (Romans 12:1, 2).
4. By faith claim the fullness of the Holy Spirit, according to:
His Command: Be filled with the Spirit. “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18).
His Promise: He will always answer when we pray according to His will. “And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14, 15).
Faith can be expressed through prayer…
How to pray in faith to be filled with the Holy Spirit
We are filled with the Holy Spirit by faith alone. However, true prayer is one way of expressing your faith. The following is a suggested prayer:
“Dear Father, I need You. I acknowledge that I have been directing my own life and that, as a result, I have sinned against You. I thank You that You have forgiven my sins through Christ’s death on the cross for me. I now invite Christ to again take His place on the throne of my life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit as You commanded me to be filled, and as You promised in Your Word that You would do if I asked in faith. I now thank You for directing my life and for filling me with the Holy Spirit.”
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If so, ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit right now and trust Him to do so.
How to know that you are filled (directed and empowered) with the Holy Spirit
Did you ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit? Do you know that you are now filled with the Holy Spirit? On what authority? (On the trustworthiness of God Himself and His Word: Hebrews 11:6; Romans 14:22, 23.)
Do not depend upon feelings. The promise of God’s Word, not our feelings, is our authority. The Christian lives by faith (trust) in the trustworthiness of God Himself and His Word. This train diagram illustrates the relationship between fact (God and His Word), faith (our trust in God and His Word), and feeling (the result of our faith and obedience) (John 14:21).
The train will run with or without the caboose. However, it would be futile to attempt to pull the train by the caboose. In the same way, we, as Christians, do not depend upon feelings or emotions, but we place our faith (trust) in the trustworthiness of God and the promises of His Word.
How to Walk in the Spirit
Faith (trust in God and in His promises) is the only means by which a Christian can live the Spirit-directed life. As you continue to trust Christ moment by moment:
1. Your life will demonstrate more and more of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22, 23) and will be more and more conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 3:18).
2. Your prayer life and study of God’s Word will become more meaningful.
3. You will experience His power in witnessing (Acts 1:8).
4. You will be prepared for spiritual conflict against the world (1 John 2:15-17); against the flesh (Galatians 5:16-17); and against Satan (1 Peter 5:7-9; Ephesians 6:10-13).
5. You will experience His power to resist temptation and sin (1 Corinthians 10:13; Philippians 4:13; Ephesians 1:19-23; 2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 6:1-16).
Spiritual Breathing
By faith you can continue to experience God’s love and forgiveness.
If you become aware of an area of your life (an attitude or an action) that is displeasing to the Lord, even though you are walking with Him and sincerely desiring to serve Him, simply thank God that He has forgiven your sins – past, present and future – on the basis of Christ’s death on the cross. Claim His love and forgiveness by faith and continue to have fellowship with Him.
If you retake the throne of your life through sin — a definite act of disobedience — breathe spiritually.
Spiritual breathing (exhaling the impure and inhaling the pure) is an exercise in faith that enables you to continue to experience God’s love and forgiveness.
1. Exhale — confess your sin — agree with God concerning your sin and thank Him for His forgiveness of it, according to 1 John 1:9 and Hebrews 10:1-25. Confession involves repentance – a change in attitude and action.
2. Inhale — surrender the control of your life to Christ, and appropriate (receive) the fullness of the Holy Spirit by faith. Trust that He now directs and empowers you; according to the command of Ephesians 5:18, and the promise of 1 John 5:14, 15.
