This month is a recognition of the opportunity to have fun, make new friends around the world, and enhance the experience of Rotary that belonging to a Rotary Fellowship enables.

My success story has started already all thanks to Rtn. Israel Attah.

This is what Rotary is about.
I was refered by a friend on the eve of RYLA's opening day, and was sponsored by Rotary Abuja Federal.

I will forever be grateful to them for giving me this opportunity.

I came to RYLA without any knowledge about CCTV or Solar Inverter Installation, but today I installed 2 CCTV Cameras. If you want to do big things you start by doing the small ones perfectly and the sky will be your limit.

This wouldn't have been possible without having a good instructor.

All Thanks to the organizers of RYLA, your efforts shall never be in vain.

Cyril Agara.

Anyone can visit and join a Rotary club. There are no secret handshakes or 'member only' rituals in Rotary. We accept members from all walks of life, and have no cultural or religious barriers or expectations.

Anyone who is interested can get in touch by sending a DM and ask to attend a meeting with at least five days notice.

One of our members will gladly host you and tell you all about it. If after attending a few meetings, you have shown interest in joining a club you will more than likely be invited to join.

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people ages 18-30.  Rotaract clubs are usually community or university-based and are sponsored by a local Rotary club, making them true “partners in service” and key members of the Rotary family.

Young adults augment their knowledge and skill and also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.  Rotaractors also often spearhead the formation of Interact clubs and participate in RYLA.

Rotaract is one of the fastest-growing programs of Rotary service with more than 9,500 Rotaract Clubs with 291,000 members in 177 countries.

Rotaractors follow the motto “fellowship through service”.

Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Find out how serious leadership can be seriously fun.

What are the benefits?

Connect with leaders in your community and around the world to:

Take action to make a difference in your school and community

Discover new cultures and promote international understanding

Become a leader in your school and community

Have fun and make new friends from around the world

What’s involved?

Interact clubs organize at least two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Rotary club sponsors mentor and guide Interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills.

Celebrate the global impact of Interact by getting involved in:

World Interact Week

Interact Video Awards

Rotary Youth Day at the United Nations

Global Youth Service Day

One way to contribute to the health of the environment is to ensure that you don’t liter the place.

Littering fills up the gutters and lead to flooding, littering takes away the beauty and organization ofthe environment. Littering doesn’t speak well of the society.

Disposing trash properly may look like a small contribution, don’t forget that small contributions bring big results.

Goodmorning!

29/04/2024

You are important,

You matter, your contributions matter, keep doing your best.

Goodmorning.

Throwback to when we had this tree planting exercise with some children.

We believe in teaching the next generation how to take care of their environment. One of such ways is through tree planting or replenishing cut down trees.

Happy weekend!

Today is World Malaria day.

The nature of our environment plays a contributing factor to the incidence of malaria; stagnant water, refuse dumps etc are areas where mosquitoes breed.

In taking care of our environment we will be eradicate malaria and reduce the dangers it creates in our communities.

Here's today's and it's all about the Rotary news!

Do you read your Rotary magazine or regional version?

Another interesting fact, well to me anyway. I used to work as the digital media consultant and write articles for the Australian equivalent of the Rotary magazine called Rotary Down Under magazine. It was one of the 1st regional Rotary magazines starting in the 1960s. I've also featured on the cover🤣

One of the most important things you can do for your children is to teach them about environmental responsibility. If kids learn the value of respecting the planet in which they live, many of the issues that are affecting our environment today will most likely not be dangerous to them later.

Perhaps it is impossible to create the perfect world, but it is feasible to give them with the necessary instruments to work on it. Teach your children to create the best world for themselves.

Teach them to dispose garbage properly. Teach them the importance of all living creatures, teach them how to recycle and make it a part of your daily life, allow them to be in touch with nature and to respect nature.

We have only one earth, we need to take care of it.

22/04/2024

Today is the first day of the week and also a reminder to everyone of us that plastics are harmful to the environment if they are not disposed properly.

You can either reuse or recycle, tell a friend today.

Goodmorning!

18/04/2024
