The 2023 World Day Against Human Trafficking is here again.

Yesterday, the 28th day of July 2023, the Gender Unit of the Office of the First Lady of Ekiti State, Her Excellency Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji in collaboration with the Ekiti State Taskforce on Human Trafficking, Chaired by the Honourable Attorney-General of Ekiti State, led stakeholders on a walk to the Popular Fayose Market to sensitize the traders on the ills and antiques of Human Traffickers who are now targeting young school leavers serving as sales girls/ boys in various shops within the market while they await admissions into higher institutions of learning.
These traffickers take advantage of the vulnerability of these young people to flaunt brighter futures outside the shores of Nigeria to lure these young girls/ boys into slavery and, at worst, organ harvesting.

Her Excellency Dr. Olayemi Olayemi Oyebanji says, KICK OUT TRAFFICKERS OUT OF EKITI STATE.

NO! TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN EKITI STATE

OUR CHILDREN WILL NOT BE TRAFFICKED!

Today, Ekiti State Taskforce On Human Trafficking held its General Meeting, anchored by the New Chairman Mr Dayo Apata SAN ( Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Ekiti State.

📍As we celebrate this year's World Day Against Human trafficking, Ekiti State Taskforce on human Trafficking Engaged in a road Walk to sensitise the populace of Ado-Ekiti on the danger and penalty of Human Trafficking.

25th July, 2022; Ekiti State Taskforce on and other Relevant stakeholders paid an advocacy/ courtesy Visit to Department of State Security, Ekiti State Command.

The Director of DSS Ekiti State Command along with his management team, received the members of the Taskforce and pledged their support and commitment to the Task Force.

We keep using advocacy as a tool for social change as we commemorate 2022 World Day Against .

Wednesday, 27th July 2022, Ekiti State TaskForce on human trafficking joined other stakeholders in Sensitising the students & staff of St. Lious Grammar School Ikere-Ekiti in partnership with Ekiti Liaison office.

They were charged to watch out and don't be a victim of trafficking under any guise as the students prepare to go home for another long holiday season.

Tuesday, July 26 2022, Ekiti State Task Force in Collaboration with joined in Sensitising the students of Mary Immaculate Grammar School, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State on “Use and Abuse of Technology” by Human Traffickers to attract the victims.

The Secreatry, Ekiti State Task Force, Mrs Atane among other speakers informed the students on the various ways which a child can be lured and trafficked using technology which include the use social media to identify, groom and recruit victims of trafficking particularly young girls and children.

She encouraged members to work together to ensure a human trafficking and violence free Nation.
