So I woke up this morning and for some reasons these designs I made some years back came to mind. Creating designs has been a major source of happiness for me. I love working on designs!

I was on my way to a wedding ceremony last week when our bus had a flat tire in the middle of nowhere. I think the most annoying part is the fact that the driver didn’t even have spare tire, so he had to remove the bursted tire and took it to look for a vulcanizer.

While waiting for him, I notice a bill board advert for a school and I remember thinking to myself that the person who design the banner didn’t really do a good job and the school must have spent a lot of money in placing the ad on that bill board.

All the while, I didn’t know that there’s a fellow passenger that has been observing me and had noticed my facial expression while looking at the billboard. He walk up to me and asked if I hated the billboard and I explained to him that I don’t hate it, I just have some reservations about the design because I felt that it could be better.

So we got to know each other more and when I told him I was a graphic designer, he asked to see my portfolio but I wasn’t with my laptop which is where I have my portfolio and other works. Then I remembered that I could access an email I sent to someone that was enclosed with my old portfolio.

So I explained to him and forwarded the email to him, though the portfolio attached in the email is a very old one with none of my recent works on it, at least he will get the to see the old designs and have an idea of my skill level.

After seeing it, he commended my works and told me that he has a graphic designer that he gives his graphic design jobs to but the guy always never meet up with deadlines and that always frustrate him.

So he eventually gave me a job to do for him and I delivered the designs before the agreed deadline and he was so please that he made me the official designer for his business.

I later designed a mobile portfolio that I carry around on my phone and can send to anyone at anytime upon request.
