(Bayero University Kano) 2017 Student Musculoskeletal Disorder Survey

Dear Students,



My name is Arnold Wong, an Assistant Professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. You are cordially invited to participate in an online survey to help us (1) understand how often that you feel muscle/joint pain, and (2) identify risk factors for such pain. Since an early onset of muscle/joint pain in university students will increase their risk of developing recurrent/chronic pain in future, it is important to determine the risk factors for muscle/joint pain so that proper prevention strategies can be developed and implemented. Additionally, we want to understand how different cultures, lifestyles, and environmental factors can affect the development of muscle/joint pain in university studies around the world. Currently, we have already had 13 universities in 6 continents participating in this project. Therefore, your voluntary participation is very important to us.



The current project involves a group of researchers from Hong Kong and several countries. Students who participate in this survey will enter a lucky draw to win an iPad mini 4 or Amazon vouchers (USD$ 20 value each). Your information will be kept strictly confidential. This project has been approved by the Health Subjects Ethics Subcommittee at PolyU (Approval number: HSEARS20170830003). In the name of Allah most gracious most merciful,.all praises adoration and amontion be on to him,and salutations on our beloved prophet may Allah be pleased with him.

Fellow student,
Good evening,
Today marks another milestone in the history of this faculty,it's almost a year since we were inaugurated and we are gathered here again to usher in in a new era.it is with out doubt that there can only be sustainable development and progress in a society,if there is succession in principle,vision,and idealogies of its founding members.this association was established to foster unity,academic excellence,and carter for the welfare of the students of this faculty. It is our believe that the solutions to the growing scourge of disunity,un professionalism,quackery,and enemity within the health sector lies in grassroot advocacy.

Fellow students invited guest,this administration has strived hard towards achieving the objectives of the association.we have recorded monumental success over the last year. Which include:

Registration of the association in line with the university rules and regulations

Free online registration for students of the faculty,the first in the history of this faculty and college of heallth sciences,we were able to register over 500 students of the faculty during the registration exercise at old site campus.
Issuance of ID cards to students of this faculty
Guidance and counseling program for students, in collaboration with the office of the Deanery FAHS notably for repeat students also the first in the history of this faculty

Career guidance programs in Secondary schools such as GGSS dala,this is line with our agenda of girl-child education awareness especially the need for female healthcare providers in our society.

Tutorials and learning aids for students of this great faculty, among on others.

It is in fate that I believe that the incoming executives and legislators would continue the good work. this achievements could not have been possible without the sheer will and support shown to us by all and sundry.

While,this administration has been able to achieve a lot,it encountered considerable challenges, which included paucity in funds and financial contraints,this is as a result of lack of instability in source of income,which is only peculiar to BAHSSA in this faculty.
Lackadaisical attitude of students towards the association,as most view it as irrelevant.
Its pertinent to note that the vehicle of development of any health professional is based on selflessness, patriotism,academic excellence and comradism.

I would like to commend the efforts of the financial secretary Mubarak saleh Bagwai,Secretary General Abdulkareem Hassan,our ever active PRO amina habibu,the welfare officer Auwal Murtala Isah,our honouble and altruistic senators Musan Usman Sanee,and Buhari Dahiru and all other executives and legislators for their efforts may Allah reward them.

I also want to use this medium to appreciate our mentor, and father, the Dean FAHS prof. M.Y gwarzo, for his fatherly advice,support to the association. I would like to also appreciate the efforts of the Former Deputy Dean,Dr Bashir kaka,for his tremendous support,encouragement,advices.and finally I would like to commend the efforts of our various HOD's and lecturers.on behalf of my executives and legislators I say thank you may Allah reward you infinitely.
I like wish every one here present safe journey back to there various destinations.

1. Did you know that there are only four professors in the faculty.from med lab sci.,physiotherapy,Radiography and nursing respectively

2.Did you know that the lowest number of students currently in class in the faculty is that of level 500 radiography students with 12students

3.That the pioneer Dean is Prof Muhd.Y Gwarzo (still serving)

4.The Deputy Dean of Thw faculty is Dr Bashir Kaka,While the
