To a large extent, poverty is a choice. And you only have to look at the issue of the IDP camp in Benue. Just yesterday, it was revealed that two hundred babies were born in just one month in a single camp. I doubt that up to twenty babies are born in a month in the whole of Banana Island, Lagos, which is the richest place per square mile in Africa. But here, you have jobless, homeless people rapidly reproducing. Then they had the guts to complain that the Government is not doing enough for them! They are so busy doing each other that they cannot do much for themselves.

And that is the tragedy of Nigeria and much of sub-Saharan Africa. Our superhuman ability to blame others for problems of our own making.

Look at this present complaint of the scarcity of pepper and tomato in Nigeria. I can understand it if we complain about rice being in short supply. But what is it about tomatoes and peppers that we cannot plant in our backyards or kitchens? Plants that only take 90 days to go from seed to harvested fruit? But we will not plant it. Yet, let the rain fall today, and broke Nigerian men will start sending urgent 2k transport money to broker girls for weather for two.

And that is how many of our girls travel to see men they do not know and are never heard from again!

How many times have you driven in Southern Nigeria after rainfall and you see people farming? It does not happen! We as a people just love cruise too much. Then, after cruising all day, we will gather on social media to be led by Arise TV on a tirade against the government. And we are surprised that tomatoes and peppers are scarce.

In Nigeria, we misunderstand the function of government. Please fact-check me. The government is meant to guarantee you the right to pursue your own happiness. But it is not the duty of the government to guarantee your personal happiness. You have to do it yourself.

You can't, for example, give birth to more children than you can afford to care for and then begin to blame the government for your predicament. Take some responsibility, and your life will take a better shape.

K.LLINS IN ESAN LAND

We are not F.ghting a religious b.ttle. Whether Muslim, Christian, or Traditionalist, we have one Creator. Some people hide behind tribe and religion to perpetrate evil. It is important to clarify that the Uromi king cannot be totally indicted in the current issues, though some of his decisions have contributed to the situation. Let us revisit history to understand better.

History shows that during the 19th century, northern Esanland was attacked by the Muslim Nupe people, seeking slaves and converts to Islam. Many southern Esan kingdoms helped fend off these attacks, bringing Nupe and Etsako warriors into Esan cities, where their descendants live today.

In 1899, the British invaded Esan kingdoms in a campaign lasting seven years. Esanland's strong autonomy made it difficult to conquer, unlike the Benin Kingdom. Defeated Benin chiefs inadvertently protected Esan soil, resisting British rule until their capture in 1899.

If you observe properly they captured Esan Land with the help us Esan people like we are drinking wine with our killers today.

The first kingdom attacked by the British was Ekpon, which fiercely resisted, leading to months of skirmishes and successful guerrilla tactics. Other kingdoms adopted similar strategies, delaying British invasion until 1901.

On March 16, 1901, the Kingdom of Uromi, led by Prince Okojie, resisted British forces through guerrilla warfare. Despite capturing and killing key figures, the British needed native help to pe*****te Uromi. With local sympathizers' assistance, they captured Prince Okojie but faced continued resistance, eventually releasing him. The prolonged battles and internal resistance led to Esanland's submission to British rule in 1906, forming the Ishan Division in Nigeria.

If we are fighting it is for all of us, It also means we are protecting the king he should be aware of this fact, We want him to see reasons why he must work with the youth because
Today, similar external forces seek to destabilize Esanland. We must not let personal or religious differences divide us. The good people of Esanland must unite to fight these enemies. Let those who have made mistakes without knowing retrace their steps. This is not the 15th century. The Kidnappers confessed some police Men and other Persons yet Nobody Arrested or question any of them, All villages in Esan Land should prepare to lunch a serious protest in each community in Esan Land the way forward is forward those people should face the Law now.
Our People must go back to their farm Lands for farming without fear or favor.

God bless the Good people of Esanland
This is soundmind.

How do you manage it, there's this other time, I remember one Cynthia long time ago, who was invited from Abuja to Lagos and that was how it ended, the boyfriend she met for the first time.

Now we have Celine and Afiba from Ghana to Aba, Abia State, that's not a good one and I don't know how what they call runs or H00k up, etc and I quite understand about economic realities of the earth, but that can't be equated to the cost of life.

There are human beings, who are preying all over the world, and they can do a lot of things, so those of you, who are making friends on Facebook, what's your evaluation watchlist?

For those of you, who are preying around as men, The law must catch up with you.

Be careful, Wake up to responsibility, There's dignity in Labour, there's nothing like dignity of the , has no dignity.

Majority of Divorced Women Dating Married Men

It has been revealed that 90 percent of divorced women are currently dating married men. This statistic is quite alarming, especially considering the fact that many of these women left their husbands due to infidelity. It seems that common sense is not so common, as these women are now finding themselves in the position of being a side chick to a married man.

It is important for African women to break free from this cycle of brainwashing. If your husband is cheating on you, the best course of action is to remain calm and focus on yourself. Take care of your well-being, work on improving yourself, learn new skills, enhance your character, become more self-reliant, and most importantly, show your husband more love.

Ayodele Oluwatumininu Awojobi (12 March 1937 – 23 September 1984)

Ayodele Oluwatumininu Awojobi, also known by the nicknames "Dead Easy," "The Akoka Giant," and "Macbeth," was a renowned Nigerian academic, author, inventor, social crusader, and activist. His remarkable intellect earned him the label of a scholarly genius from his teachers and peers. His research papers, especially in the field of vibration, continue to be referenced by international research fellows in Engineering, even as recently as 2020. These works are preserved by prestigious publishers such as the Royal Society.

Early Life

Awojobi was born in Oshodi, Lagos State. His father, Chief Daniel Adekoya Awojobi, was a stationmaster at the Nigerian Railway Corporation from Ikorodu in Lagos State, while his mother, Comfort Bamidele Awojobi (née Adetunji), was a petty trader from Modakeke, Ile-Ife, Osun State. He attended St. Peter's Primary School, Faji, Lagos, from 1942 to 1947.

In 1962, Awojobi earned his first degree in mechanical engineering—a BSc (Eng) London, with first-class honours—from the then Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology, Zaria (now Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria).

Inventor

As a lecturer at the University of Lagos, Awojobi demonstrated his inventive prowess by converting his family car, an Opel Olympia Rekord, from a right-hand drive to a left-hand drive. He further explored automotive engineering by modifying an army-type jeep to include a second steering-wheel mechanism at the rear, enabling the vehicle to move forward and backward using all four pre-existing gears. This invention, which he named Autonov 1, allowed the hybrid vehicle to reach its top speeds in reverse, providing a strategic advantage for army vehicles needing to retreat quickly in ambush situations.

Death

Ayodele Awojobi passed away on Sunday morning, 23 September 1984, at the age of 47. His death was widely covered in national newspapers, and he was buried at Ikorodu Cemetery, Lagos. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Iyabode Mabel Awojobi (née Odetunde), and their children.

An Igbo man walks into a bank in Lagos and asks to speak with the loan officer. He explains that he needs to borrow ₦5,000 for a business trip to Dubai lasting four weeks.

The loan officer informs him that some form of collateral is required. The Igbo man hands over the keys to his brand new Mercedes Benz S-Class 500 parked outside. After verifying the car's logbook, the loan officer accepts it as security for the loan.

The bank president and officers find it amusing that someone would use a ₦30 million Mercedes Benz as collateral for a mere ₦5,000 loan. An employee drives the car into the bank’s underground garage for safekeeping.

Four weeks later, the Igbo man returns and repays both the ₦5,000 principal and an additional ₦150.41 in interest. The loan officer expresses gratitude but also curiosity: "Sir, we are pleased with this transaction but puzzled by one thing—why would a multimillionaire like you need to borrow just ₦5,000?"

The Igbo man replies with a smile: "Where else in Lagos can I park my car safely for four weeks at only ₦150.41?
